So really we're all here just to chat randomly.

I hâte it too @Kucinghitam. I find it unbearable.

None of them have eaten any biscuits! I got loads of different packets in. And now I will have to eat them all myself...

(Tiling was supposed to finish today but the adhesive wasn't setting on part of it, so they have to come back tomorrow.)

One of the weird differences I notice between workmen here and in the UK is that they are quite bewildered if you offer them a drink or biscuits and invariably turn you down.

NI workmen also reject offers of drinks and biscuits. Apart from removers - they run on copious quantities of strong, sweet tea and biscuits.

Exactly 13 days ago, our solar panels were switched on. It has rained for quite a few of those days, but we've generated 100kW.

When we have workmen doing work on the communal areas of our block of flats there has to be a space reserved for a sort of container/portakabin whose main purpose is to keep up a constant supply of tea and biscuits.

Wettest March since records began at this end of the country - the panels are clearly good stuff.

Unfortunately our new waterbutt arrived without a tap, so we've not been able to collect much of the the March rain.

The water boffins were worried about the reservoirs so march has hopefully reassured them.

@Dotellhimpike , if I ever say I've signed up to Mouse Minge please travel down to Worthing and shoot me dead.

Yes. Any one if those responses works (or a simple “sorry, can’t make it; maybe next time”) but the presumptuousness of her actual response and follow-ups to it is extraordinary. Can’t see any of them wanting to bother with making her feel welcome any time soon. Enjoying the thread.
