It's been on for years. A friend of ours went to see it months ago but thought it wasn't remotely worth the money.
Wraysbury floods btw...

lostinfusion · 02/03/2023 11:41

absolutely love it from the outside but the inside is just awful, i'd have to gut the place & re-do in a more modern style

EvenMoreFuriousVexation · 02/03/2023 11:43

I'd enjoy staying there, but couldn't live in it.

I think it would be the perfect place for Terry Tibbs

Dreamstate · 02/03/2023 11:44

Now I think about it, its the type of house I'd expect Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen to live in. Or did the owners get him to decorate it, its right up his street.

BellePeppa · 02/03/2023 11:46

I like marmite, I don’t like this house.

It’s far too garish and busy. It would give me eye ache and a migraine.

Bluevelvetsofa · 02/03/2023 11:48

Floods, dust, reminiscent of Marie Antoinette.

Never in a million years. Ever.

Igenix4 · 02/03/2023 11:49

The architecture and woodwork is beautiful, It gives a very Spanish or Italian villa feel but as a whole I don't like it, too many different styles in each and every room, it's like a sensory assault

inappropriateraspberry · 02/03/2023 10:24

It looks like a touristy restaurant you'd find somewhere in Greece! It's bloody awful, just imagine all that dust in all the crevices. That staircase is so ugly.

I quite like it, mad as a stick but jolly.

But you're not wrong about all the dusting!!!

Stay there for a few months - sure. Buy it if I had the money...? Just thinking of the dust and dirt buildup in crevices... No.

FrustatedAgain · 02/03/2023 11:51

I'd hate to live in it but would love to spend a week there!

HappyHolidai · 02/03/2023 11:52

It would be an amazing B&B or guesthouse.

Being under the Heathrow flight path and very close to the airport would not be an advantage, however.

bussteward · 02/03/2023 10:39

Horrid and you’d have to live near Slough.

I feel your pain.

Castergirl · 02/03/2023 11:57

It's right underneath the Heathrow flight path. No thanks!

EezyOozy · 02/03/2023 11:58

I LOVE IT

Furries · 02/03/2023 11:58

A weekend stay would be great, but couldn’t live there. Who on earth fitted the dining room carpet? 🤣

The garden is gorgeous.

Rubyupbeat · 02/03/2023 12:01

I love the gardens, especially the sunken bit, but....the inside is horrendous (to me) reminds me of a tomb.

Skipsareyum · 02/03/2023 12:10

outside is nice

coffeestrongblacknosugar · 02/03/2023 12:12

oh no its awful, its like someone took all the hideous things from trips abroad and put them in 1 too small house.

To me the ceilings are too low for the decor etc.

Although I do like a lot of the parts of the house, I would prefer it in a huge mansion/castle.

LadyOfTheCanyon · 02/03/2023 12:12

bussteward · 02/03/2023 10:39

Horrid and you’d have to live near Slough.

We have a winner!Grin

It's not for me. 3 million would buy me something with a lot less crappy Pre Raphaelite friezes on the walls, for a start.

xogossipgirlxo · 02/03/2023 12:13

Nice to look at, nightmare to live in. Too cluttered, even though there's not much clutter. Just the impression of everything together. I like double bath tub though.

AnnieMore · 02/03/2023 12:14

Goodness. What a chaotic mess.

It would need a lot of work to get it to some semblance of taste.

PamperedEnLaPampa · 02/03/2023 12:19

Love it. Would have to paint over the yellow walls though.

oldwhyno · 02/03/2023 12:39

I love it, but wouldn’t want to have to maintain it.

OldTinHat · 02/03/2023 12:40

Urgh, no thanks!

Namechange1011111stairs · 02/03/2023 12:45

I don't understand it. It's like there are 3 different houses all mixed up. You've got the renaissance style one, the country manor and a modern boring one.

There are some beautiful bits. I love the windows but I can't work it out. I wouldn't even know where to start.

HotDogJumpingFrogAlbuquerque · 02/03/2023 12:45

Wasn’t that on Hugh Dennis Huge Homes which was on all4??
if I remember the owner was in his 80s and quite eccentric
