Chippy tea- what's your order?

I'm heading to the chippy for tea for me and the kids tonight, what would you like and I'll add it onto my order?

Battered hake or haddock, chips and mushy peas, lots of salt and vinegar with homemade tartare sauce and white bread with lurpak.

Some of the regional variations here are wild! What's a steakette (??!) bap doing at a chip shop? What's a king rib supper??!

Mine's a battered sausage, small chips, small scampi and burger sauce.

King rib here is basically a pork burger rib shaped and fried.

Whenever I hear 'Chippy Tea' I've got the sound of 'Hippy Chick' by Soho in my head.

Maybe some comedian did a skit on Hippy Chick back in the day?

Love a chippy tea though and it has to be a Holland's meat and potato pie.

Spring onion and ginger mixed veg half rice half chips, cheese pie, portion of scallops for tomorrow and a tin of Dr pepper. And wooden forks to save washing up.
