Chippy tea- what's your order?

I'm heading to the chippy for tea for me and the kids tonight, what would you like and I'll add it onto my order?

Cod and chips for me and scampi and chips for DD. I've actually just ordered that from our chippy van for tomorrow except that we only need one portion of chips between as as the portions are huge.

They do the best batter ever, really crisp and not greasy. The cats like it too!

If they had it I would also have a bottle of Barrs original Irn Bru. None of this low sugar artificial sweetener crap!

Question for you all... In Leicestershire we used to call potato fritters 'scallops'. Up here in the North West they are called 'Smacks' What do you call them???

Where are you? I’m a north westerner and never heard of this. They’ve always been scallops.

My (Aussie) order is flake and chips with chicken salt and a steamed South Melbourne dim sim. Garlic aioli for the chips, lemon on the flake and soy sauce for the dimmy.

Good portion of 🍟 chips , rissole, onions in breadcrumbs,
Plenty of salt, well just enough I can taste it,
For some strange reason 🤔 even though I see staff putting shaking lots of salt I can hardly taste it,
Gravy pot of it, better still put gravy over chips

If rissole isn't there I will have sausage roll

A deep fried pizza, chips with loads of vinegar and salt.

How far north? If I was in the area I grew up in: steak and kidney pudding, chips, mushy peas and gravy.

Here: a sad, disappointing fishcake, chips and curry sauce. Southerners don't understand proper chippy food Sad

That's my 'go to' when I head 'back home' 😍 I even buy a couple of bags of Hollands S&K Puddings from Asda to bring back with me and stick in the freezer...can't get them here 😥 (they don't know what they're missing do they??)
