It's another 'fuck you Russian warship'

Glory to Ukraine!

Glory to the Hero!

And it turns a relatively bland response (Glory to the heroes!) into a specific and vivid reference to Russian atrocities - making it a constant reminder of what Ukraine is fighting against.

Question: is the amount of Telegram info too much? about right? too little?

L1ttledrummergirl · 07/03/2023 08:52

Whatever you post is good for me. I'm grateful to you for trawling through each day so I don't have to. There is no expectation or demand from me for information, just thankfulness that I can keep up with the information without having to hunt for it myself.
Thank you for all you provide (that also goes for other regular contributors as well).

This ☝️
Thank you Ducks I really appreciate your updates.

blueshoes · 07/03/2023 11:40

Ducks keep it coming, if you can. Appreciate the efforts. I read every one.

ReleaseTheDucksOfWar · 07/03/2023 12:08

Im happy to keep going, it would just be good to know if people want:

1 - more info
2 - it's about right
3 - less info

ReleaseTheDucksOfWar · 07/03/2023 12:16

come to think of it, would people ideally see: -

1 - As the reports are now, with this balance
2 - more military
3 - more political
4 - more economic
5 - more personal stuff
6 - more Ukraine focussed
7 - wider focus (as it is now, I think) reporting on other countries too
8 - any other

ReleaseTheDucksOfWar · 07/03/2023 12:16

personal stuff = personal stories from Ukraine

Igotjelly · 07/03/2023 12:35

I personally find the broader updates (e.g. wider geopolitical picture) really helpful. There is a tendency when people think about this war to forget the geopolitical context and its so very important.

@ReleaseTheDucksOfWar I find all your updates fab.

blueshoes · 07/03/2023 12:49

Ducks, your updates are great. It is a good mix. I am a sucker for the occasional feel good things thrown in if you find any on your feeds (like cats, dogs, ducks and this is what we are fighting for). Personal stories are good too, though they can be harrowing.

MissConductUS · 07/03/2023 13:09

2 - more military

But that's probably just me. 😁

MissConductUS · 07/03/2023 15:51

And speaking of military news, the USAF has confirmed that the Ukrainian Air Force has received a limited number of 2000 pound JDAM (joint direct attack munition) Extended Range bombs.

Winged JDAM Smart Bombs Are Now Operational In Ukraine - The U.S. Air Force’s top officer in Europe says JDAM-ERs are now in Ukrainian hands, putting whole new Russian target sets at risk.

These are released from an aircraft at altitude and then glide up to 45 miles to hit their target. They're designed for heavy targets like bridges. The guidance part is a kit that can be strapped onto most dumb bombs. The article cites a few incidents recently that could be explained by their use. The downside is that a Ukrainian jet would have to traverse Russian-occupied airspace to deliver them more than 45 miles from the front. Some targets, like the Kerch bridge, can be approached over water where defenses would be minimal.

@notimagain, what are your thoughts on a 45 mile stand off distance when attacking high value targets? Does the put you far enough away at your operational ceiling to evade enemy air defenses?

ReleaseTheDucksOfWar · 07/03/2023 16:04

mm, the Kerch bridge. mmm

Mb76 · 07/03/2023 16:16

@ReleaseTheDucksOfWar thank you for everything you post. I think the balance - it’s just right, the amount you post, the content. Some people prefer more personal stuff, others more military. But no one is forced to read through what they don’t want to.

i too really appreciate the effort you go to, thank you.

katem98 · 07/03/2023 16:19

@ReleaseTheDucksOfWar Definitely find as they are now the most helpful. The layout is great too I think.

ReleaseTheDucksOfWar · 07/03/2023 16:23

The layout is great too I think. Great. Ive wondered about grouping it under subject but frankly it's a bit much work!

Fladdermus · 07/03/2023 16:33

I found you again. Thread fell off my 'I'm On' list. A clear indicator that I spend way too much time posting here.

Anyway, don't know if you've seen this already, which has just come up in the Swedish press. Russia are now recruiting men undergoing psychiatric care to send to the frontline. On the basis that if you're feeling suicidal, might as well kill yourself while doing something useful for your county. Bastards!
