Anyone else never moisturise their face?

I'm 58, have never bothered. I wear factor 50 in the summer, mostly anyway. I think I look pretty much exactly my age. Anyone else? Just curious, that's all

I’m 44 and have just started moisturising after my mum told me I needed to. My skin does look better and I probably should have started sooner.

Me!
I never do, hate the feeling of moisturiser, never feel the need, anywhere.. other than on my hands during winter and since covid/hand sanitizer/extreme constant hand washing

HiccupHorrendousHaddock · 19/02/2023 10:34

I never remember to do it, and then in winter it gets all tight so I have a few days of remembering.

No. I don't.

Wotrewelookinat · 19/02/2023 10:55

I’m 52. Moisturise once in a blue moon if my skin feels dry.

Florissant · 19/02/2023 10:56

The only place I moisturise is under my eyes as the skin there is very dry. Maybe once or twice a year I moisturise my hands. This is more lack of attention than anything else.

wombyvolvo · 19/02/2023 10:58

I used to until I made sure I drank lots of water throughout the day. Now I find I don't really need it.

Wilkolampshade · 19/02/2023 10:58

No. Never have. And I'm GORGEOUS 😉

WandaWonder · 19/02/2023 10:59

I don't, mid 40's I would if I was told medically I needed to but not just because of looks

Catspyjamas17 · 19/02/2023 11:01

I remember my skin felt dry after I had a wash even as a kid so I can't imagine not using it.

usernameV2 · 19/02/2023 11:03

Interested to hear I'm not alone! I do my hands sometimes, they get dry, and my feet. I compare myself to other people my age, I can't can't see any difference myself. But I don't use make up either, does make up maybe dry your face, make you need to moisturise??

If I try, every time I come out in spots. I'm in my 50's, have fairly good skin so I think it must be oily. Even the lightest whisper moisturiser makes me spotty.

category12 · 19/02/2023 11:07

Rarely. It can set my eyes off into a tizzy even if I'm putting it on nowhere near them.

category12 · 19/02/2023 11:08

I rarely use makeup either.

purpledalmation · 19/02/2023 11:11

Daily and nightly. Also body lotion after a shower. Have done since I was 14 simply because my skin feels so dry and uncomfortable. Not vanity

GrazingSheep · 19/02/2023 11:13

I always do. I use a moisturiser with factor 50. Also use it on the back of my hands.

CrinkleCutChips · 19/02/2023 11:14

Me. I’ll be 40 in April and when I told my new team they all told how confused they’d been when I said I have a 20 year old as they thought I was early 30s 😆 I always wear factor 50 suncream in the summer on my face though so I think that helps.

GrazingSheep · 19/02/2023 11:14

I have an annual mole check with a dermatologist and she always reiterates how important it is.

Ifailed · 19/02/2023 11:15

It does seem slightly ridiculous (unless for medical reasons) to wash away all your skins natural 'moisturisers' that we have evolved over thousands of years to produce, only to replace them with synthetic products.

AnnaMagnani · 19/02/2023 11:16

Me!

I went through a phase of being very into skincare, was using tretinoin, salicylic acid etc and honestly my skin did look amazing.

But I just couldn't keep it up and have gone back to wash face with water as being the sole bit of skincare I do.

It probably helps that I rarely go out in the sun though.

RaininSummer · 19/02/2023 11:19

Since I was 14. My skin feels very tight and itchy without. I do have good skin and very few Iines at 60 though so it's worked for me.

Blanketpolicy · 19/02/2023 11:22

54 and I have never moisturised. I've never had dry skin so dont see the need. I get heat rash with sunscreen so tend to avoid too much sun🧛‍♀️ (not that difficult in Scotland!)

Buzzinwithbez · 19/02/2023 11:23

I wash my face with water only, when I wash my hair every two to three days and then I use a face oil if I remember.

VladmirsPoutine · 19/02/2023 11:27

This is interesting, to me moisturising (body + face) daily is something I've done since before I can even remember, as a baby my parents moisturised me. Not doing it would feel very weird.

Yes, exactly. I also wonder why so many women have skin that 'feels dry' but hardly any men do.
