What basic simple thing are you sh*t at?

I can’t cook rice. If you want rice you can cook it yourself. And I can pull together a roast from scratch and every meal in between without much thought, but for some reason, unless it’s in a microwave bag, I can’t cook rice.

I can’t cook poached eggs either but I feel I’m not alone there.

Parking. I drive 30,000 miles a year but cant park when i get there. Half of that is circling car parks looking for a triple space...

eggs make me anxious. I’ve only just perfected fried. And my scrambled have always been done in the microwave. I’m an egg heathen.

Making tea. I dont drink it and don't understand it. I get nervous when people ask me to make them a cup.

Re rice - my sister swears by one of those electronic steamers. Apparently you can also steam veg in them.

Keeping on top of housework.
I can reverse park all day long into any tiny space, but parallel parking even with a massive gap is impossible.

The secret to scrambled egg is do them in a small non stick frying pan. Easy clean up too

Putting a bra on, I have to do it up at the front then twizzle it round.

@SeaToSki my family are genuinely surprised when I catch a ball. I think maybe some undiagnosed dyspraxia on my end. No coordination whatsoever.

Fried eggs are good. You only need a tiny bit of oil in a non-stick. Poached can feck off.

Whistling! I just can’t seem to do it. Also blowing bubbles with gum. My 9 year old can do both these things…

At the moment my right arm is out of action so I can’t even wipe my backside properly! Suddenly all basic tasks are a real challenge, but I am hoping DHs many new skills will remain in practice long after I recover!

Catching, batting or throwing a ball - I have absolutely no hand-eye coordination. And I’m terrible at maths.

Poached eggs are easy as long as the eggs are super super fresh. If they’ve sat in a supermarket for a couple of days forget it.

Opening packaging of pretty much any kind. Usually ends up looking like an impatient and ineffective bear has been at it.

Clicking fingers - never been able to do it.
