Can anything be urgently done about a pile?

I’ve felt a lump around my anus earlier in the week, and woke up with severe pain today. It was coming from the area so I felt it and it was now grape sized. DH looked, it’s a pile. Blue in colour and external- so can’t be pushed back in.

DH went out and got me Anusol and the pharmacist advised me to take paracetamol and ibuprofen for the pain. Granted, I’ve only had two doses of each and only applied Anusol at 9ish this morning- but the pain is steadily getting worse.

The pain is a solid 8/10. I have an 7 month old and can only feed her laying down as it’s severely uncomfortable to sit up with her. I can’t walk without crying, let alone be on the floor playing with her.

I have heard about piles before, never had one- and just didn’t realise it can be this severe.

Is there a private option to get it drained if this level of pain continues? I can’t believe such a tiny thing is stopping me from doing day to day tasks :(

On the 3 occasions when I had mine knifed I could not understand how the wound did not become infected - if you rubbed crap in a wound anywhere else it would be bad news. Docs said they do not know the answer, but infection is not as common as one might think. I had no problem.

Sorry to hear it hasn't been resolved yet, but good luck with trying the GP again. Hopefully it's not as painful if there's been some change.

when i had mine people used to asked why i was walking funny, not sitting properly i used to just say it was because i had asteroids coming out my arse 😆 joking aside though i really hope you get them sorted soon x

A weird update- it’s changing in size.

there have been times where it has shrunk right down to butter bean size then it goes back to small plum. Nothing to do with toileting, it’s just alternating

when it is smaller, it is awfully itchy as well as painful

I have held off calling the GP as we are at butter bean size now. It kind of pops in with a little bit saying ‘iiiiyahhhh!’ on the outsid. I think we are small enough to germaloid treatment so I’m back to greasy arse mode

In other news I noticed that one of my boobs had become a lot more engorged the other (have been BF DD for nearly 8 months) so I have taken the steps to even up the supply- so now I have boob problems to go with my bum problems

DH is cackling at me sat on my bag of peas with a bag of strong smelling sofrito (sp?) in my sports bra to ease the engorgement as I drop feeds from titzilla

hopefully on the mend- we are skiing in 2 weeks and I could do without packing Anusol in my little transparent liquid bag

Well I'm glad to hear it's receded but what a hideous ordeal to go through. I'm horrified at how hard it was for you to get any treatment. Fingers crossed that it's fully cured by the time your holiday's due. I guess the tit issue will take your mind off it anyway! Thanks for updating #arsewatch2023

You definitely should be taking supplies with you for a flare up during the skiing.

I also have an uneven tit from a back problem when ds was 3mo and I could only lie down on one side to feed
He's 16mo now and my right is about 2 sizes bigger than the left which deflates after 1 feed. I hope you get an even supply back or you'll be lopsided on the skis! Keep us updated @GoldenCagedBird
