It's been known publicly for weeks?

Did the police reveal that information weeks back though, I thought it came from a media source who matched him up with his history in the US

Justmeandthedog1 · 28/02/2023 17:19

They have been further arrested on suspicion of gross negligence manslaughter —- not charged. To be charged the police have to pass a threshold of evidence sufficient to have a reasonable chance of getting a conviction. The police do not have any evidence the baby is alive and well, but neither do they have any evidence, it would seem from their press conference, that the baby has died.

Although didnt the law change some time back that you dont need a body for murder or manslaughter anymore?

BatFaceOwl · 28/02/2023 17:22

Why the hell are you lot creeping all over her social media? Disgusting behaviour

You know it's possible to follow a news story without grossly overstepping boundaries yes?

Aphrathestorm · 28/02/2023 17:05

They aren't the first parents who've had previous DCs removed to try to conceal a further pregnancy.

There will be cases the public and authorities never find out about.

And?

SpinningFloppa · 28/02/2023 17:25

They didn’t reveal it straight away it was after quite a few weeks and I think that was to get the public on side as before that a lot of people were asking why they are wanted and they haven’t done anything wrong, didn’t seem to work though as many still felt they had done nothing wrong. The police obviously felt they needed to release it to get people to report them.

You do realise social media is public information don’t you?

BatFaceOwl · 28/02/2023 17:31

@BramleyAppleHotCrossBun ah so you're one of those who goes ghoulishly looking.

Defending the indefensible really. Imagine being so over-invested in a news story that you go looking for the persons Facebook account to see if you can glean any further gossip.

ÉireannachÉÉÉÉÉÉÉÉÉÉÉÉ · 28/02/2023 17:34

I really hope that someone has the baby but seems unlikely?! Who would look after the child? Would they be risking being an accomplice type of thing?

bellac11 · 28/02/2023 17:40

They may even have been arrested for manslaughter to prompt them to disclose where the baby is, if alive

But I think Im being optimistic there.

DueyCheatemAndHow · 28/02/2023 17:42

Horrendous..I never imagined it would come to this

kittykutty · 28/02/2023 17:43

You never need a body but it takes much more evidence if you don't have one.

kittykutty · 28/02/2023 17:44

I'm so shocked this has happened, I don't know why, it's seems obvious in hindsight. But I thought they'd either have been long gone it would not risk baby's life just to keep them! So sad, I just saw the photos of their other children too

PamelaShipman80 · 28/02/2023 17:45

Such a sad story, that poor baby. Evil pair, even now not talking so the baby can be found. I hope they rot in prison forever putting that little baby through this, they deserved so much better

picklemewalnuts · 28/02/2023 17:03

Thing is, the tin hat chaps will still blame the authorities. They only went on the run because...

They are from the same ilk as folk that believe social services get bonuses for removing babies. Village idiots they were aptly described by someone on here earlier.

I would imagine one of them has potentially caved and started giving information. We would probably all be in agreement as to which one.

MNHQ please feel free to delete if potentially in contempt.

I’m genuinely curious. Why did you not think this might happen? Did you really not consider that the reason so many resources were put into finding them were because the baby’s life was in danger?

kittykutty · 28/02/2023 17:54

I think the reason some people were sceptical of children's services is
A. Bad stories where they have screwed up, bias
B. There was no info released as to why they need to be caught. We know he's a sex offended but due to his age/lapse of time. If we were told he/they did XYZ I don't think anyone would have a hot if empathy. When they first went missing it was so bizarre, all we knew was the car was in fire and they left.

Anyway, I'm not saying I believe this myself. If multiple children are no longer in their care, and they haven't managed to get them back, something isn't right.

Yes they would. It’s highly unlikely imo that the poor little one is still of this world.

Honoraryuce · 28/02/2023 18:05

I'm hoping that the fact that they won't reveal the sex of the baby means that they've given baby to someone else to look after and want to make it harder for police to find.

You never need a body but it takes much more evidence if you don't have one.

They arrested the killer of Holly Wells and Jessica Chapman before they had found bodies. I remember watching it on the news at the time.

DueyCheatemAndHow · 28/02/2023 17:42

I did. It was obvious that the baby was at very serious risk in these circumstances.

Pink39tree · 28/02/2023 18:16

Okay so the new information coming to light is that it’s believed they left the baby somewhere while they went to get supplies (new cctv shows them carrying heavy bags). Looks like they were on their way back to where they were hiding when the police intercepted them, hence why no baby with them.

would it not of been better for police to have just watched and closely followed until they went back to their hiding spot.

also if you have a look at the social services exposed pages she was following on Facebook really shows her mentality about the social services.

GooseberryCinnamonYogurt · 28/02/2023 18:18

Stop with the speculation, darn MNetters sleuths.
