I can’t find any of the books on the Kobo.

WiddlinDiddlin · 02/01/2023 14:02

@JDKirk Well thats us getting nothing done for some time... ta! :grinning:

Wikipedia, um, you just make an account and crack on, but others can then re-edit your edits (not that I know personally cough and it may have been a while...) and there are people who must sit on it constantly as edits can happen at lightning speed.

BertaHoon · 02/01/2023 15:20

How cool for you OP. I am insanely jealous of @JDKirk popping on to your thread being a Logan/Hoon fan.
One of my favourite memories is Hoon's interview at Tesco!

The last author I was a fan of, I ended up embroiled in an emotional affair with, with cock pics. I've vowed never to message an author again. New year, new authors 🤣. Roll on Feb? For more Logan!

Holy shit, I did not see this twist coming! This conversation just got even more interesting.

He wrote a book for me, with my real name. Painted pictures for me. Wrote a song for me.

As my self, not Berta 🤣

It all goes on!

The thing is, I was the OW and would usually be lambasted. We've been in touch for years.

He stuck a paintbrush up his bum as he couldn't satisfy his own anal. Ouch.

I miss him 🤣

BertaHoon · 02/01/2023 16:44

He put my Amazon review on his hardback publications to reach out to me after several years. I lied. Boring read, gave up!

Ah well. These authors - live n learn!

BertaHoon · 02/01/2023 16:53

@JDKirk

He's very jealous of you as you make me laugh and I was supposed to be reading the transcript to his new work that only him and agent had seen.

I'm not going to out. He has his life.

But yes, I need that insult generator in my life!

IcakethereforeIam · 02/01/2023 16:53

Shock watercolour or emulsion?

On second thoughts. No, don't answer that.

Is that rude? 🤣

Watercolour.

HiccupHorrendousHaddock · 02/01/2023 17:03

Hey @JDKirk - your insult generator spells it "feotus". I love a swear, but we Mumsnetters are sticklers for correctly spelled obscenities, despite our laid back approch to autocorrect and typos.

(Read this thread out to DH and DS, and we're all up for reading the novels)

BertaHoon · 02/01/2023 17:08

Oh the brush, not the painting?

Not watercolour.

Hahaha. I'm enjoying myself just getting this out, spent holiday away just me and DD having been totally cut off (he'd speak about and send her best wishes as well).

No outing though as it will out me. I may do to @JDKirk as surely there's some authors code...

He was very talented, one book was being looked at to being made into a film. He threw his toys out of the pram though when Kindle Unlimited started.

@JDKirk it seems to have launched many a good author. I am the guilty though that pays £7.99 a month. Often with the pap I read for that, I may be better off just buying. Who knows?

I can’t lie, I’m chuffed!

My favourite memory so far is when Hamza and Ben received a rather colourful phone call from Logan after realising he had to share a bed with Tyler. I was proper cackling!

Berta, I love your casual dropping of the paintbrushes up the arse, as if the cock pics were salacious enough 😂😂

MeinKraft · 02/01/2023 18:07

Was it like a watercolour paintbrush or one of those Harris 5" ones?

I love Boyband 🤣

It's all true. I have no filter. Channelling my inner Berta.

PearlclutchersInc · 02/01/2023 20:17

Love the JD Kirk Logan books. A cross between Taggart and Rebus.

Implausible but good reads.

I don't see that connection at all. Dark deeds, not dark material.

Geoff Palmer doing stand up? Genius.

Hope your Dad’s ok, @JDKirk

IcakethereforeIam · 09/01/2023 13:14

I've seen those books as thumbnails on amazon, I thought the author was Jo Kirk!

<'Hello! Specsavers?'>

BlueBooh · 09/01/2023 15:36

I'm on my fourth book now because of this thread! I love 'em

Hope your dad's ok.

Would love to know if there is any difference in sales since this thread.

JDKirk · 09/01/2023 16:56

Hello all! Thanks for your kind words and concern about my dad. He's out of hospital now, and slowly on the mend, which basically means I'm running around after him all day. Fortunately (or unfortunately) he lives about 15 seconds walk from my house.

My elderly mother-in-law also lives about 15 seconds walk in a slightly different direction. For some reason, this all seemed like a good idea at the time...

I am both delighted and slightly embarrassed that some people have gone on to buy the books. I'm absolutely shocking at self-promotion, and that was never my intention coming on here, but thank you for checking them out. I hope you enjoy them (and sorry if you don't!)
