I've just had a healthy and nourishing lunch of crisps and Stilton, with a light dessert of stollen bites and rose and violet cream chocolates. What bizarre combinations are you eating in this weird, drifting week?

And I’m impressed by the idea of an accidental panettone mountain. It sounds like such a good thing to have about the place at this time of year!

And they make great gifts if you're out and about at New Year!

wonkyheadwoes · 29/12/2022 16:58

I had porridge for breakfast. So started well.

Since then I've had quite a lot of chocolate seashells, so party food prawn tempura and some Christmas cake.

I had a mince pie and some stollen for breakfast, followed by three types of crisps dipped in guacamole, some sweet chilli crunch and then two slices of chocolate orange roulade.
Craving salad tbh Grin

VicSynix · 29/12/2022 17:05

I've been fairly restrained today.

Until an hour ago, when DP went for an afternoon snooze, and I had a rather fine mixed selection of mince pies, lindt chocolate, spicy rice crackers and a slab of mature cheddar.

CaramelizedNuts · 29/12/2022 17:11

Lunch was sour cream dip, kettle chips, cheese and a questionable sausage roll. Home made - think the last day should have been yesterday.... time will tell!

Dinner will be the last of the turkey in curry using the last of the cream.

Again could be disastrous- turkey looks, feels and smells good so fingers crossed.

I am only now remembering that I intended to have chicken noodle soup for lunch, using the stock from the chicken breasts I poached yesterday. Oh well the pate and toast was nice and was the Christmas cake, and tomorrow is another day. The pear was a bit wooly, but hey, fruit.

So dinner will be a cheaty chicken caesar salad with one of the chicken breasts (the cats are getting the other one) possibly followed by fruit, but there is some kind of frozen roulade taking up far too much space in the freezer.

O forgot to buy any fancy cheese, which is just as well.

Howyoualldoworkme · 29/12/2022 17:16

Potted shrimps on toast, a Scotch egg, some wensleydale with apricot for lunch.
Cup of mint tea, some Christmas cake and a marron glace.

I'm on a mission to eat all the carbs by next Tuesday 😁

SqueakyDinosaur · 29/12/2022 17:21

For afternoon tea, because I is well posh, I had Penn State pretzels and cheese, with a Lindor chaser. Obviously I stuck my little finger out while eating and drinking.

Salmon blinis, pickles and coleslaw 😳

Shinygreenbeetle · 29/12/2022 17:27

I was quite proud of my bread sauce and crispy bacon sandwich on Boxing Day - it was amazing!

Coffeaddict · 29/12/2022 17:35

Breakfast left over curry, lunch cauliflower cheese followed by Christmas cake doused in cream as it was due to go off

BinturongsSmellOfPopcorn · 29/12/2022 17:37

I have breakfast crumble envy.

However, I have apples, spare mincemeat and some fancy granola that will make an excellent crumble topping. So I know what's for breakfast tomorrow.

No.double cream though. Dratted dairy allergy. May be forced to have ice cream instead.

Spudlet · 29/12/2022 17:37

For lunch, I had two different varieties of peanut, Christmas tree shaped cracker bites, three types of cheese and some hummus. It was awesome.

55larry · 29/12/2022 17:38

Loving all of these. I planned and cooked a Christmas Dinner for the rest of the family but Dh and I didn’t eat very much as we have had flu and chest infections for the last week and a half and I have lived on toast and jam.

This evening though I am going to have a smoked salmon sandwich as I am finally beginning to feel hungry!

dontforgettofloss · 29/12/2022 17:46

Last night I had half a pork pie (a big one) half of a small wheel of cheese, with a generous dollop of Mayo and mustard on the side

professionalnomad · 29/12/2022 17:46

Lunch was:
Tiramisu
Half a packet of spicy Doritos
A bar of Milka
Some slices of roast beef

That sounds amazing! I love bread sauce, and I love crispy bacon!

Byfleet · 29/12/2022 17:50

Honey mustard and Brie sandwiches as brunch, a bottomless buffet of quality street and Pringles for the rest of the day. I can recommend apple sauce as a dip for Pringles.

wetpebbles · 29/12/2022 17:54

Turkey and sprout curry
Lindt
J20 and Scloer
Mince pie and tea

flamingmoe · 29/12/2022 18:09

Love these.

I started off with Weetabix and a cup of tea but then it went downhill…….most of a chocolate orange, a stack of Pringles, and some salted peanuts soon followed. Then a small banana I didn’t even want because I felt I should have some fruit.

Christmas cake and Wensleydale for lunch with some kettle chips and Quality Street.

jackstini · 29/12/2022 18:20

Man in a boat egg for breakfast

Some ham, mini pork pie, caramelised nuts, 6 tempura prawns, lebkuchen, brie & Christmas pudding for lunch

Trying out new air fryer tonight with a normal meal of salmon & roast veg though

Bicurator · 29/12/2022 18:27

Tricyrtis2022 · 29/12/2022 12:47

The plan for tonight is to add a few more steamed leaves to the unfinished dish of greens and leeks, then dress it with finely chopped garlic, rosemary, olive oil and lemon juice. The left over new potatoes will be fried and have egg and ndjua added and then stirred till nice. Food of the Gods.

I ate pretty much an entire birds trifle in 26hrs 🙈

Bloody love trifle

Teenagequeenwithaloadedgun · 29/12/2022 18:45

For dinner I just had;

Marks & Spencer extremely chocolatey biscuit
2 Lindt truffles
Half a tube of salt and vinegar Pringles

UnfortunatePoster · 29/12/2022 18:45

DS and I decided to have Christmas dinner #2 from the leftovers - minus the cauliflower cheese and red cabbage as I've already portioned and frozen the leftovers from that. DH and DD scavenged other leftovers - I can actually see the back of the fridge now!
Although I have spotted a tub of double cream that needs using, not even started yet. Do I a) have VERY decadent porridge for the next few days, b) make some truffles and freeze them (ok, most of them), c) make some creme brulee (as we are running dangerously low on dessert), d) do something else with it, or e) chuck it and face the scales in the morning?
