I’ve just woken up and had one of my new coffees. Still in my PJ’s browsing mumsnet.

DS is awake and in his room playing his new Xbox game.

Planning a lazy morning, a walk this afternoon and then to my mums for games and leftovers.

I think I prefer Boxing Day to Christmas Day, it’s much more relaxed.

Family over for buffet. So playing with my baby nephew I imagine. I prefer Christmas Day too

BorisJohnsonsHair · 26/12/2022 08:46

Nothing! Just lazing around all day, reading, eating, watching telly, playing games. Great.

Natsku · 26/12/2022 08:48

Second Christmas at MIL's, on our way there now and thankfully the roads are in decent condition. Will probably play more board games when we get home, my friend brought round a new one last night that we need to try.

Driving to Mum and Dad's for Christmas 2.0 (we had in laws over yesterday)

pompomdaisy · 26/12/2022 08:49

Walk the dog. Go to restaurant at 4 to eat.

CeriB82 · 26/12/2022 08:49

I dislike Boxing Day. Ill probably take my friends dog for a very long walk up a mountain.

DH will go to a football match and no idea what the teens will do

turkey roll and buts for lunch snd turkey and chips and peas for tea!

britespark1 · 26/12/2022 08:51

My mom and step dad were coming for a big dinner but they are ill and had to cancel. PJs day which is much needed after a difficult week. Big walk tomorrow.

cheshirecatssmile · 26/12/2022 08:53

Christmas Day in our house due to work yesterday.
Santa has been last night.
Turkey in the oven, ham in the slow cooker and having a carvery so food doesn't get wasted.
Just can't find my tray to make Yorkshires.
Maybe a stroll up to local Tesco later

SunshineInMySprocket · 26/12/2022 08:54

Big walk in the early afternoon, which I am so looking forward to. Then home for leftovers and a film. Going to have cheese and biscuits for breakfast as I had no room yesterday!

ABrotherWhoLooksLikeHellMugYou · 26/12/2022 08:56

Currently cuddling on the sofa with DC and cats. Breakfast when DP gets up, then playing some of the games the lids got yesterday before they go off to their dad's after lunch.

Trying not to let on that I'm sad they're going. Been having the most lovely time with them and don't want them to go.

Dp and I will have a lovely food, booze, cuddle, film afternoon and evening but I'll miss my small folk

TinfoilTwat · 26/12/2022 08:58

I love boxing day.
I'll break out the big jigsaw puzzle and listen to radio 4 for much of the day.
Will go for a nice long run with ds later which is one of my favourite things.
Everyone will potter about investigating games and books opened yesterday.
No need to cook - leftovers for all.

NothingHoldingMeBack · 26/12/2022 08:59

Just relaxing today. DD4 is currently on my bedroom floor playing with her new toys. We're watching Mr Bean. Will get up shortly, get washed have some breakfast and change into fresh pj's and just laze around😅.. I plated up most of my leftovers and gave them to my brother who was here yesterday so today I will be eating healthily and minimally as I consumed a small horse yesterday.

ilovebagpuss · 26/12/2022 09:01

Resting, DD 12 has a constant cough and was so unwell yesterday she couldn't eat anything except a bowl of doritos. I'm knackered from the whole run up to Christmas work load.

DF coming to collect his car as we walked him home yesterday so he'll probably have a coffee and mince pie.

Tidy round and do dishwasher a billion times then going to take myself off for a walk.

Cold meats, chips, salad and pickles and cheese later my favourite meal of Christmas.

Bulbstarglitterball · 26/12/2022 09:02

Still in bed and everyone else is asleep. DS desperate to try out his new toys and DD wants to spend the day trying out new products she got. So no real concrete plans just eating, board games and I’ll go for a walk as it’s a lovely day.

LorenzoVonMatterhorn · 26/12/2022 09:02

We usually go to a party on boxing day. We will take the dogs for a big walk.
kids will play with their games and complain when we try to leave the house.

hopeishere · 26/12/2022 09:03

Still in bed. TV, reading and eating. Will walk the dog later. Light the fire. I also prefer Boxing Day!

LadyGardenersQuestionTime · 26/12/2022 09:05

Going home 😁 from lovely Christmas with Sis, dropping grown up DD at her Dad’s on the way. Looking forward to my own bed again.

Toooldtoworry · 26/12/2022 09:06

Well, I was up until 4am with D.Dog #2 who was puking, then alarm went off to walk D.Dog #3 at 0615, and I come back to find D.Dog #1 was not let out to the loo by DH so I got a nice surprise in the bathroom to clear up.

DSS is sleeping, as is DH. Got DS coming round in a couple of hours because we're then going to MILs for lunch.

Then DSS going home in the evening, unless he wants to stay longer.

I'm sorry for whinging, I'm just soooooooo tired. Why does everything always fall to us women?

Soccermumamir · 26/12/2022 09:08

I also prefer Boxing Day to Christmas Day. We plan on doing as little as possible. Watching TV, playing with new toys, eating and drinking whatever we like. I feel I can relax a bit more today.

Beautifulsunflowers · 26/12/2022 09:10

Going to my parents to spend the day with them and my brother sil and their kids, it’s always a lovely family day but I get very anxious about it beforehand due to a family argument a few years ago, so Ive not slept well. I’m sure it will be ok and I’ll be glad I went though!

chimichangaz · 26/12/2022 09:11

Had a lovely quiet day yesterday on my own after opening presents with DS (21) yesterday morning. He then worked 12-12 and I basically indulged myself watching tv, and snoozing after a big lunch.

Had a decent nights sleep (for once), just having coffee in bed and then will go for a walk. Off to a friends later as she's having a big party. Might do some paperwork and sorting out before I go.

Afterfire · 26/12/2022 09:14

Just had pancakes for breakfast. Ds aged 10 is playing his new fifa Xbox game on the Xbox in the living room with me and dh stretched out on the sofas. Dd aged 19 still in bed and will probably sleep till 2pm..! And - my dad is coming round later. Which I’m feeling very odd about as we haven’t seen each other for 11 years, since I got married. We’ve always had a very distant, horrible relationship and the most he ever does usually is ring me for literally a 2 min phone call every few months. He and my Mum divorced when I was 12 (42 now) and he’s been with my horrible step mother ever since. My Mum and Dad were both equally shit when I was growing up and my Mum died in 2019. I really don’t know what on earth my Dad has invited himself round for and I genuinely half want to tell him not to bother. So weird.

Anyway, little offload there. 🙈

Justonedayatatime11 · 26/12/2022 09:15

Family coming for Christmas lunch take 2 today. DD will then go off to her Dads this afternoon for her second Christmas. Once everything is tidied away I plan on taking myself to bed by 6pm with cheese and chocolates whilst DH watches football downstairs. Looking forward to having a lovely day of absolutely no plans tomorrow!

LunaLoveFood · 26/12/2022 09:15

Movies, lego and food sums up our day today!

I hope his visit goes smoothly and lasts as little or as long as you want it to!
