I’ve just woken up and had one of my new coffees. Still in my PJ’s browsing mumsnet.

DS is awake and in his room playing his new Xbox game.

Planning a lazy morning, a walk this afternoon and then to my mums for games and leftovers.

I think I prefer Boxing Day to Christmas Day, it’s much more relaxed.

We usually go out to the pub on Boxing day, but my IBS has flared up. I'm trying to persuade DP to still go out though as there's no point both of us staying home when he could be out enjoying himself.

MinnieMountain · 26/12/2022 10:46

DS is playing. DH and MIL have gone for a walk.

I’m enjoying the peace before more relatives arrive at 12 (introvert). We’ll walk MIL home later which will probably be DS’s only fresh air for the day.

TheLightSideOfTheMoon · 26/12/2022 10:51

I’m at work. 13 hour shift.

Heating up some leftover roast dinner for a late breakfast.

I've spent a couple of hours pottering about downstairs, tidying up, watching the pair of wood pigeons dancing about on the fence, and drinking coffee. I've also done 2 wash loads of the girls bedding since they got new yesterday.

Just on here for a bit before I go get everyone up so they're awake before my dad comes round shortly.

Our only plans are my dad's visit, and Panto later on. We'll walk into town for that since it's a fine day, and taxi home.

Other than that, a steady day of grazing on leftovers and cheese 😋 I have a little bit of money so might see if there's anything I fancy in the sales but don't really need anything much.

Oh, I do need to tie my amaryllis plant to a stake actually; I came down just as it was leaning towards the worktop, so it's currently leant against a window to stop it falling over!

Have a lovely day everyone 🙂

Beezknees · 26/12/2022 10:55

Just had a shower and put some comfy clothes on. Watching TV and eating chocolates. Will have turkey and stuffing cobs for lunch. Then going over to see extended family around 3pm.

ifonly4 · 26/12/2022 10:57

Taken DM home. Having a clear up, re-setting table etc. DD (21) in kitchen making hummus and guacamole, following by what I suspect will be a massive veggie chilli. SIL's family arriving around 12.30pm to eat and DH has bought a simple table game for afters.

We'll have evening to ourselves, which to be honest will be nice as we can actually just sit/eat what we want without having to constantly think about others or constant chat.

MeinKraft · 26/12/2022 11:10

I feel totally wiped out today after all the build up to Christmas, shopping, wrapping, worrying about money decorating, Christmas events and generally trying to ensure the kids have a magical time. Trying to have patience to play with the kids and build Lego etc but I really just want to curl up with a book in bed and eat things all day.

DelilahBucket · 26/12/2022 11:14

DS has gone to his dad's. I've pottered and done some washing, tidying etc and am now having my millionth cup of tea after DH prepped us some leftover salmon for brunch. DH and I will go for a long walk in about an hour, broken up by a pub stop off, and then back home to lounge around, eat a second Christmas dinner from left overs and watch TV.

Anjo2011 · 26/12/2022 11:14

Had a lie in, best I’ve slept in weeks after illness and the ist build up to Christmas. House needs a bit of a tidy up but nothing too drastic. Just had a brew and a mince pie and thinking what to have for lunch, it will be leftovers of some description. Had a full on day yesterday so happy to be doing things at my own pace today. Everyone else still sleeping so I’m enjoying the peace.

mondaytosunday · 26/12/2022 11:15

I've just had a light breakfast and enjoying a cup of tea. My daughter has had flu so still in bed, my son was a bit ill last night, but probably as he really enjoyed his Christmas dinner! He's usually on a very strict eating regime and the food might have proved too much for his stomach! So I did hear him get up a couple times in the night.
So waiting for them, or at least my son, to appear so we can walk the dogs then I've got a nice ham for lunch. My son is working tomorrow so we leave at 3ish to get him to his ferry (he lives in the iow). Back at 6ish when I'll watch all those Christmas specials we recorded yesterday! Particularly looking forward to the Great Pottery Throwdown one.

stopringingme · 26/12/2022 11:24

DH at work, DD in the other room watching TV and I am on mumsnet.

I felt like this this morning, felt like I'd be hit by a bus.. Now chilling in my room watching Bluey with little one whilst she makes a mess with all her new toys

junipermarten · 26/12/2022 11:37

We will be doing as little as possible today. Christmas day is always non-stop with our 2 young kids so Boxing Day is spent relaxing just the 4 of us, eating leftovers, playing with the kids, and staying in jammies all day. I'll probably have a mid-afternoon nap, DH is still in bed!

We have something on with friends/family every day for the rest of the week so using today to recharge and enjoy the peace and quiet after the Christmas craziness.

felulageller · 26/12/2022 11:38

Eating and watching films.

Decafflatteplease · 26/12/2022 11:54

We are having a really cosy day, everyone still in pyjamas! DC playing new toys / reading new books etc.

We've just had brunch of various leftovers and crumpets, and copious amounts of tea!

I'm about to go for a lovely long hot bath as it's my boxing day reward! With my new bath products going to have a proper pamper and read my book.

Beautiful sunny winter day here so Heading out around 2 for a walk in the woods then home for roast dinner with some of yesterday's leftovers! Will make fresh roasties.

Love boxing Day!

TheChippendenSpook · 26/12/2022 11:56

I've just had the most epic lie in ever.

I'm in the middle of an intense training programme for a new job that is away from home. I've got two weeks off and I intend to do spend most of it resting in bed Smile

Simonjt · 26/12/2022 11:56

Sat in a wood fired hot tub in the forest, nice cold beer on the side and not a single child’s whinges or cries can be heard.

Later we’re driving into the city to pick up my husbands Grandma and brother up so they can stay here for the night. I’m cooking everyone a meal later and we’re going to do board games etc.

Girasoli · 26/12/2022 11:57

DC had a lazy morning playing with their new toys while DH and I packed the car and now we are driving to PILs for another Christmas lunch and will stay overnight.

BIL has bought them both toys they have to build themselves so hopefully will be a nice calm afternoon.

HopefullyBePregnantViaIUI · 26/12/2022 12:00

Woke up this morning.. Done some tidying up whilst my wife & our 7 yr old had a lie in, had a nice coffee in peace. Washing on, 3 of us got ready and were now off to meet my mum/dad for some lunch. Then our plan is to go home, new pjs on and chill with new xmas gifts/boars games and eat leftovers at my MILs house later.

Xx

speakout · 26/12/2022 12:02

Tidying the house- filling bags of tat to take to the charity shop.

Eyesopenwideawake · 26/12/2022 12:05

My turn to do the horses while DP had a lie in, had breakfast and then (very uncharacteristically!) felt motivated to do some painting - walls rather than easels. Just finished the first coat so left it for today. Going to set up my rather terrifying new food processor and then have a long snooze...

Heckythump1 · 26/12/2022 12:07

We were at the in-laws yesterday, so today is a PJ day and the children are enjoying all their new toys! No leftovers, but got lots of nibbles and party bites to eat!

jmh740 · 26/12/2022 12:10

Me and oh watching last nights Google box, teens haven't come out of their rooms yet, planning to watch TV and graze on party food, might take the dog for a long walk if it stops chucking it down otherwise will be a quick trip round the block

evtheria · 26/12/2022 12:14

Just got back from ILs as we stayed over, and now I'm cleaning the oven while DP is painting a wall (we have guests due this week). DS has paused building his new, tricky Lego set, and is on his tablet.

I'd much rather be outside on a blustery walk but this is what happens when you put off chores/redecorating!

twofojoy · 26/12/2022 12:16

Lazing around all morning whilst DC play with their new toys , bacon rolls all round , couple of buck fizzes and doing a few of the new science experiments DD1 got. Just about to get ourselves sorted and head to the theatre for pantomime. Will probably stop in at the park on the way home for us all to run off some chocolate Grin left overs, pjs & a film when we get home later. May also try and sneak in a bath with my new smellies if I can be bothered.

Will have to be a little bit sensible and get back into a proper bedtime routine for DD2 this evening as shes really out of whack and stroppy having the last 3 nights up later than usual.
