I’ve just woken up and had one of my new coffees. Still in my PJ’s browsing mumsnet.

DS is awake and in his room playing his new Xbox game.

Planning a lazy morning, a walk this afternoon and then to my mums for games and leftovers.

I think I prefer Boxing Day to Christmas Day, it’s much more relaxed.

I got up and dossed on here for a while, then took the dog out, slipping on the ice several times. Went past the Christmas Pudding Boxing Day Run people, in their costumes. Boggled at the Panama Club Boxing Day Swimmers.

Came home and stripped the chicken, put it in a bowl covered in cling film. Stripped the beef rib, put it in foil and in the back scullery, which is cold.

Daughter got up and I made her porridge. Apart from going out for pickles in a while, I've no solid plan.

I’ve been out for a long bike ride this morning, but have no plans other than that. I have a totm related tummy ache so a quiet afternoon reading and catching up with good tv sounds like heaven. DH has just nipped out to the supermarket for a few bits for lunch, I thought it would help my tummy to have a pre lunch slice of chocolate cake! 😂🧁

An extremely lazy morning where DDs have been watching TV and playing with their new toys.

Smoked salmon and cream cheese bagels for brunch and we're finally all now dressed.

In laws coming over this afternoon for a buffet and I need to write a quiz for them to do later. They'll be here til late so I'll probably just collapse into bed when they head home.

We're off for a Boxing Day walk at DH's favourite seaside place once the small person wakes up, I like going there as it helps me feel close to him. I might see if I can get hold of a bottle of his favourite Ghost Ship while I am there so I can raise a glass in his honour once the small one is in bed tonight.

OH made breakfast and I just had coffee, then he went to get some milk and kitten food and we both did an hour's weeding in the veg patch.

Then I made refried beans and we are just eating those with tortillas and cheese for lunch. Then the OH is going downstairs to watch the footie in the snug and I'n going to spend the afternoon watching some new box set and making small faggots for the woodburner. Smashing.

Just taken DD to work. DH is in the shower, DD's 15 and 7 are in their rooms and me and MIL are watching rubbish on tv.
DD's DH and MIL are taking the dog for a walk soon while I get the living room pulled out and hoovered (buying dd slime with glitter wasn't my brightest idea 😂).
This afternoon will be Boxing Day tv eating rubbish, picking DD up from work at 7pm then it's tv and a glass of something in pjs.

It's lovely sunny day here. I got up late and we all had coffee and croissants for breakfast. Did a bit of tidying up, just been for a run to burn off some off yesterday's excess.
Later when I take the dog to the beach I'll have a quick sea swim and the kids and DH will bring their new drone down and have a mess around with that.
We're having turkey curry for tea and then going to play some of the board games we got yesterday and the Play Station 'Lets Sing' - great fun and we get very competitive.

Very lazy day. Did horse and walked dog early then back home for chocs + coffee. Rest of the house woke late so I had a lovely tranquil couple of hours. We've just got back from watching Boxing Day hunt with dog, DD + DH and I'm making eggs Benedict + smoked salmon canapés. Board games/crap films + Bucks Fizz until a late tea of Christmas ham + chips. I much prefer Boxing Day to Christmas Day.

I’ve taken the Christmas tree down and had a tidy up.

I know some people think I’m the grinch, but Christmas has always been a very difficult time for me. I loathe every part of it and it actually means nothing to me. I pretend for the children and because dh likes it but I have my limits. So boxing day it all comes down, they are all very happy so it’s not damaging anyone (pIL have accused me of that many times).

I stayed in bed drinking coffee/eating leftovers until about 10.30am.

Then had a shower and watched Secrets of Dumbledore - fed the animals and now watching Despicable Me

We have no DC and it was DH's turn to walk the dog so it's a lazy day in this house - I don't plan on doing any cooking, we'll just work our way through the leftovers from the sofa.

I tested positive for covid on Christmas Eve and am still feeling rubbish and my dh has now probably come down with it (very sore throat) and is still in bed, my ed has had a pain flare so will probably be in bed all day as will yd, so it will be a day of resting. I am currently watching Frozen with my dog. Ds seems to be the only one who is well and has headed up to his room with a can of cider to play online with friends.

Pre-covid I used to go to the sales every year on Boxing Day (would have preferred them to close and reopen on the 27th). Through Covid I got out of the habit of going so had planned a nice quiet day at home.

Yesterday, just after all our guests had arrived, DD (4) pulled a head louse out of her hair, proudly showing it off to everyone. She’d been itching a couple of days so I’d been checking but there was nothing visible until all of our guests arrived.

This morning I have been to the shops to get stuff for nits - didn’t have anything as it’s our first time and then de-loused the child.

Fun times.

DS1 has just backed his car into our garden tree on his way to work. Shattered the rear window and dented the boot.
Just spent two hours in the wet picking up glass off the grass, hoovering it out and patching it up to keep the rain out.

Oh dear!

Had a gorgeous walk in the sunshine with family this morning. Came home and made lunch. Just spent a couple of hours with DS helping him come to a difficult life decision which was useful but exhausting. Now relaxing on MN for a few minutes before tidying and cooking.

DH & kids went out to the football all day, so I got up early and went for a solo walk in a lovely park nearby. Have been lounging on the sofa since I got back, watching telly and eating Christmas crap. Had the BEST Christmas sandwich and some trifle 😋

Going to have a bath now and get ready to go to my Mum’s for another massive family food fest with cousins I haven’t seen for ages.

Sitting on my arse drinking wine and watching Miss Marple. Occasionally getting up to potter with cooking for a buffet party later💃💃💃

Nothing, just went to Morrisons.

Breakfast at hotel then saw DS in hospital then went to Horsey beach and saw the Seals and then back home.
