What was a hit and what was a miss?

The switch here has been a massive hit!

Two happy children though they probably would have been happier to have switch lite each.

Im not buying them more handsets.

Miss….nothing for dd. She loved everything.

Ds was a bit more awkward. Dh had given ds some of his collectible figurines which were still in box which we knew ds would like. He is rather underwhelmed though and just wants to go on the switch.

dh is a little hurt

Only had stockings so far. Two very happy children with those (except the toothbrushes). They loved the shower gel though...

2tired2bewitty · 25/12/2022 09:12

Mine has those battery operated toothbrushes and were so thrilled they had both brushed their teeth before 7am 😄

shreddednips · 25/12/2022 09:13

Only done stocking so far. Got some foamy shower gel stuff from asda for a quid- HUGE hit. Also got him a mini owl rainbow beanie baby thing- enormous hit 🤩

Stickmansmum · 25/12/2022 09:13

Hit: Fart noise machine and Pringles stack if 8 mini tubs (ds 4)
hit: tomagachi (dd 8)
hit: fluffy/slime tub (dd7)
hit: football kit and new runners (ds 9)

miss: nothing really

JJJSchmidt · 25/12/2022 09:16

Only santa presents and stockingvs done here so far.

Miss - knickers for dd which are sooooo embarrassing!

Hits, roller skates, peppa pig play doh and having a joint santa present (as well as one each) - the barbie camper van which both dds are over the moon with (8 and 3)

PlaitBilledDuckyPuss · 25/12/2022 09:18

Just joining to read about other people's presents <nosey> .

OneFrenchEgg · 25/12/2022 09:29

Hit for 17 year ds - make your own pop up ! GrinGrin was just a silly extra but they have already come and shown us one Grin

MyBooksAndMyCats · 25/12/2022 09:30

Mine are still sleeping. Blush

FrenchFancie · 25/12/2022 09:31

Everything for DD seems to have been a hit!

DH has managed to outdo himself with the odd presents this year though….!

Barbie camper van was my all time favourite present about 35 years ago😃 x

HalfasleepChrisintheMorning · 25/12/2022 09:35

DS 10, loved Half Asleep Chris merch, Dungeons and dragons game, Lego, Hellfire club t shirt.
Miss so far microscope even though he asked for it.

SnowAndIceLobelia · 25/12/2022 09:36

Gucci aftershave was a surprise hit for the 12 year old. It was a bit of a desperation buy as i was out of inspiration. He's always sadly been a brand fiend though.

DeathMetalMum · 25/12/2022 09:39

Hit so far dd2 9 GCHQ Puzzles for spies book she's been doing it for at least an hour already.

Todaynotalways · 25/12/2022 09:39

DD6

Hit: pop out book of birds, each page is card, you pop out the components and build British birds. Also Disney Rapunzel doll. And back scratcher from stocking.

Not a miss. But viewed with suspicion... Barbie Cutie Reveal... she was concerned that she (the Barbie) had hooves (even if they were only gloves and shoes).

Paddingtonthebear · 25/12/2022 09:42

Socks and pants got a 🫤 face from our 10yr old 😆

Saisong · 25/12/2022 09:43

Wanna know what my 15yo DDs favourite stocking present is...

Bluey & Bingo figures 🤪 She has been watching the show obsessively (and allegedly ironically) after school, so I got the figures as a bit of a joke. They are currently sailing around the room in a mini box, cute noises and everything. It's very endearing and making me well up a bit because despite the often caustic teenage exterior, my baby is not far beneath 🤩

YodaBabe · 25/12/2022 09:44

Ds 13 loves his sandwich maker/breville machine, already made breakfast in it!

Dd 16 hits are Ugg's and a big pillow thing so she can sit comfy in bed

DH is sporting his fleece crocs and loving them!

AllThingsServeTheBeam · 25/12/2022 09:53

My 11 yo DS1 cried when he opened the PS5, with FIFA 23. (It's a shared gift, between DS1, DS2 (nearly 9) and DP)

Soontobe60 · 25/12/2022 09:53

No kids here
hit - DH got me a jigsaw puzzle (as he does every year) but it’s a photo of the grandkids - I love it!
miss - he also got me a gorgeous silver bracelet, but it’s a childrens size! Looks like I’ll have to pop to John Lewis to swap it (and peruse the sales while I’m there)

Wine4whine · 25/12/2022 09:58

Massive Hit with both DD5 and DP is VIP guns n roses tickets (whole family clubbed together - we aren't rich!) DD5 also very impressed with a bug hunting kit!

Misses: light up Bluetooth speaker for the bath (thought DD would love that!) Red Adidas t shirt bought online for DP That arrived late so no time to replace and turned out to be made of silky, shiny material. He's seen the funny side!

christmaslover88 · 25/12/2022 10:02

@JJJSchmidt the year I got the Barbie camper van is still my standout Christmas

That's cute! 17yo dd loves her tamagotchi although is whinging about its neediness.

Butitsnotfunnyisititsserious · 25/12/2022 10:09

He loved all his Christmas gifts but the Xbox X was definitely the fav. He didn't expect to get it so the shock was so sweet.

glasshole · 25/12/2022 10:15

My 14 yo dd was delighted with a peg letter notice board and an alien abductions (paper clip is in the shape of cows being beamed up to a space ship) set and an emergency key ring caddy with hair clips, bobble, mini nail file etc. All were from the IWOOT 5 for £20 so I'm delighted with them too!

She also loved the £20 mini wax burner kit with wax and strips etc. she's eying up her dads back hair 😂.

The £7 incense waterfall was a hit as well.

The more expensive stuff was graciously received but those smaller bits got the biggest reactions and were opened right away

Now she's moved onto her new drone and Galaxy light . The Galaxy light just got a BIG squeal of delight as it's bloody amazing, well better than I was expecting AND it's a speaker. So bargain for £22 delivered.

Polkadotpjs · 25/12/2022 10:15

Hits: guitar and amp for DS10
DS15: a vintage football shirt I got off eBay that unknown to me was the same era as the first time he started going to the match
Missed: DS15 not really having a "big" present like phone etc (I think making him feel like it's less magical this year although he loves what he HAS got )
