I'll start. Homemade choc chip cake with old skool chocolate custard, bonus points if I manage to get it to form a leathery skin... yum 😍

Homemade trifle, bought choc log.

BadTimesAtTheElRoyale · 23/12/2022 21:28

Lemon roulade and a baked cheesecake. I don't like dessert at all so that is the family choice.

FatAgainItsLettuceTime · 23/12/2022 21:30

A sticky toffee trifle from Sainsburys apparently. DH and DD chose it, if its not nice we have mince pies and enough chocolate to make us all feel sick.

We're not bothering with a dessert (ie I can't be arsed...!)

WTAFnojustno · 23/12/2022 21:35

A homemade vegan cherry chocolate trifle...

Christmas pudding can go fuck itself Grin

Topseyt123 · 23/12/2022 21:35

Profiteroles or double chocolate cheesecake here.

RewildingAmbridge · 23/12/2022 21:35

Jamie Oliver's ginger and pear pudding/cake thing. Never made it before so we'll see!

Notplayingball · 23/12/2022 21:36

Black forest gateau.

Minikievs · 23/12/2022 21:36

M&S lemon roulade! Every year except this one as I haven't found one anywhere 😭

Pinkbananas01 · 23/12/2022 21:36

I love Xmas pud but nobody else does. Last yr made Nigellas choc mousse cake - from domestic goddess book - with 12 yr old DD. It was delicious, decadent & rich enough to feel special even my non pudding eater DS enjoyed it. All decided we will be making again this yr.
I'll get my Xmas pud fix at DPs on boxing day instead.

winonarose · 23/12/2022 21:36

Christmas star vanilla cheesecake

DuesToTheDirt · 23/12/2022 21:38

I do like Christmas pudding, but we don't always have it. Sometimes we have zuccutto, and this year we're having chocolate and cherry pudding. First time making it, so fingers crossed.

ICouldHaveCheckedFirst · 23/12/2022 21:38

Lemon. Meringue Pie, using Delia Smith's recipe.

greenhousegal · 23/12/2022 21:39

Tiramisu. Will make tomorrow night and fridge it. Yum, it's my favourite. I don't eat much dinner really so that will do!

smilingthroughgrittedteeth · 23/12/2022 21:39

Toffee and Pecan Roulade for the adults and DD2 and choc fudge cake for DD1 and DS

JennyForeigner · 23/12/2022 21:40

Lemon Berry self-saucing pudding.

Made by my mum and shipped in. Incredible.

I love a skin on custard!

OrangePomander · 23/12/2022 21:43

Brandy Xmas Grin

Actually I do like Christmas pudding, but also will have mince pies, chocolate yule log, and/or ice cream for the refusers.

LittleBitLostWithoutYou · 23/12/2022 21:44

My lot like hot Greggs mince pies with cream, vegan cheesecake or ice cream.

daretodenim · 23/12/2022 21:46

Last year we had pavlova instead. It was bloody fantastic - totally perfect meringue!

But this year I felt like I needed some Christmas pud again.

So we're going out for Indian without dessert, then coming home for Christmas pud! 😃

More roast potatoes

I hated Xmas pudding as a child but grew to love it over many years. As a slightly sadistic mother I have done the same with mine. They are now teenagers and I suggested as different pudding and got told a absolutely no!
