The one where you might have comfy seating, the TV, the place the family gathers to relax etc.
And roughly where are you?

We use living room. Hertfordshire.

Living room - North Staffordshire

Although strangely when living at home with parents as a child/teen, only 5 miles away, it was called the lounge.

supadupapupascupa · 22/12/2022 22:21

Living room. But everyone around me calls it the lounge which just sounds wingey to me (looooouuuuuunge)

Rosalindisafuckingnightmare · 22/12/2022 22:21

The extension!
We’re in there much more than “the living room” although we do have a room called that, interchangeably know as “the front room”

Boshi · 22/12/2022 22:22

Sitting room, London

SirenSays · 22/12/2022 22:23

Sitting room

curvymumma79 · 22/12/2022 22:23

When I was younger we used to call it the 'big room' and thought those with lounges were very posh.

Now it's the front room. We are in south west of the UK.

HemlockStarglimmer · 22/12/2022 22:23

Living room.
It's where we sit, eat and my husband works.
He calls it either the lounge, dining room or study depending which third he is referring to.
Which makes it sound huge. It isn't!

ForestLilac · 22/12/2022 22:24

Sitting room.

Midlands, but fairly posh grandmother if that means anything?

HemlockStarglimmer · 22/12/2022 22:24

To add - I'm from London and he's an East Midlander.

LickYouLikeACrispPacket · 22/12/2022 22:25

The big area is the livingroom and the kids one is the snug

Baconand · 22/12/2022 22:26

Sitting Room, Rutland. But I’m not from here originally.

Wiccan · 22/12/2022 22:26

Lounge
West Country

RoseMartha · 22/12/2022 22:27

South east
Sometimes I say living room sometimes I say lounge. It is semi open plan so living room fits better.

Creatingusernamesismygame · 22/12/2022 22:28

Both near Leeds. We call the main living space the living room and the other room the back room or dining room. We actually don’t ever dine in there though 🤷‍♀️

MrsElijahMikaelson1 · 22/12/2022 22:28
