Just that really. Do you have a special meal on Christmas Eve or standard 'everyday' food? What are you having this year? Looking for inspiration Smile

I wish I could get my hands on some chicken hearts. We always had plenty of them in a chicken and vegetable noodle stew on Christmas eve, but I can't buy them here for love nor money and the local butcher's is charging an arm and a leg for a dozen.

So now it'll be whatever I can be arsed to do on the day. I have a few menu choices but no idea which one of each I'll pick over the next few days.

Chicken hearts?! 😱

Well this year is a bit different. We have rented a holiday cottage and our 2 daughters and their boyfriends are joining us. On Xmas eve one daughter and her boyfriend are making a carribean dish for us, then on boxing day the other daughter and her boyfriend are cooking the main meal. Really looking forward to it!

It's just me at home so I will probably have a cheese sandwich!

Mince pies and sausage rolls-eaten straight out of the oven. Maybe some chestnuts, all washed down with alcohol. Easy food as we are also prepping Xmas dinner

Lentil soup. Plain and wholesome before the indulgence of Christmas day.

Always a take away!
