I mean WTAF?

OP posts:
BillLius · 19/12/2022 23:31

Sorry, have I missed something?

Postgraddope · 19/12/2022 23:33

Exactly my thoughts !

Weatherwax13 · 19/12/2022 23:33

He absolutely should be arrested, I agree. Vile racist, misogynist man.

Smallonesaremorejuicy · 19/12/2022 23:35

Disgusting excuse of a man . Should be arrested.

ToPlayOrNotToPlay · 19/12/2022 23:36

Why does he get given airtime? Why do papers and websites print his words? Why when he was sacked from top gear was there uproar and him given contracts elsewhere? Vile man, spreading hateful words and behaviour.

Worriere · 19/12/2022 23:37

Notice how he avoided saying sorry.

Blahblablahblahblah · 19/12/2022 23:39

He won’t be though

musingsinmidlife · 19/12/2022 23:46

It is a Game of Thrones scene and he substituted Meghan for the character Cersei. In the show Cersei is stripped naked and paraded through the streets. As Cersei walks, Septa Unella accompanies her, repeatedly calling out "Shame!" and ringing a bell to attract people's attention and the crowd boos and pelts her with rotten fruits and vegetables

It is called the Walk of Atonement for various wrong doings.

@BillLius

Blimey that is shocking! I'm no mm fan but I don't wish the poor woman that level of vile hate!

Kokeshi123 · 19/12/2022 23:48

He’s a dreadful man. No idea why media channels give him air time.

stillvicarinatutu · 19/12/2022 23:49

Vile loathsome excuse for a human .

Whatsfordinnerglutenfree · 19/12/2022 23:54

Well if MM needed proof of racism in the press, Jeremy Clarkson has obligingly given a perfect example.

Liebig · 19/12/2022 23:55

Oh cool, I see the move to pure fascism has gathered speed. Very healthy and good.

Let me know when y’all want to go burn his house down with torches and pitchforks. I’ll be sitting here, making Molotovs.

DreamingOfAGreenChristmas · 19/12/2022 23:58

Women are being sacked and arrested for simply saying they do not believe that Transwomen are female, while JC says this sort of thing, and gets paid for it.

By the Sun, who saw fit to publish it.

I am glad his daughter has denounced him.

And no, he didn’t say sorry. No apology to the Duchess of Sussex.

Whose consistent complaint has been the racist and sexist shit published about her in our media.

Funny that.

MerryShitemas · 19/12/2022 23:58

My understanding - there is no reference to race in the piece therefore he can't be arrested for inciting racially motivated hate/violence.

It's a matter of (awful) taste rather than a legal issue...

BMW6 · 20/12/2022 00:00

FFS why are you taking it seriously? Do you really think he grinds his teeth in bed with rage over her?
Have you never heard him talk about anything before? 🤔

He can be an insufferable wanker, sure, but serious journalism is not his thing.

His thing is winding people up and watching them rage. He's very good at annoying people.

Galarunner · 20/12/2022 00:05

He is hideous, a known misogynist, even his own daughter has called him out, he but to arrest him? I think there will be consequences to his actions. I heard his farm thing was actually quite good ( didn't see it) but I suspect his punishment will probably be to only appear on loony right wing TV like GB news rather than anything mainstream that larger numbers of people actually want to watch. Probably enough!

VioletLemon · 20/12/2022 00:05

He's also close mates with David Cameron, they all live in the same village of Cu %*'s. He has friends in high places and makes money for people who know sensationalism sells. Horrible, white supremacist. He sits N Sturgeon alongside child murderer, abuser, and trafficker Rose West and incites hate and violence to another woman, MM. Wasn't he at Camillas lunch recently?

daretodenim · 20/12/2022 00:07

He certainly hasn't apologised.

It wasn't even the pithy "Sorry if I've caused offence".

His argument seems to be that because it was in GoT then it's not hateful really. Not misogynistic.

He hasn't addressed the comparison to a serial child murderer.

Given what's actually in GoT, then the bar has officially been set VERY low for what's acceptable to say about what you want to do to women. In national press. This isn't taunting someone for touching their belly or eating avocados. This is actually depraved.

Where's the responsibility that comes with freedom of speech?

It was absolutely vile and shameful, yes I noticed his daughter spoke out against his actions - kudos to his daughter for that .

Margot78 · 20/12/2022 00:12

I have been astonished at the comments by members of the public on social media, even women, declaring that it is Clarkson’s ‘opinion’ and just ‘freedom of speech’. Would they truly have this view if an older man publicly declared something like this about them? That he hated them so much he lay awake at night with a dark misogynistic fantasy of them naked and humiliated? Would they not be terrified?

I also hated the way he claims ‘Markle “used some vivid bedroom promises to turn him [Harry] into a warrior of woke’. This is a positively medieval attitude towards women’s sexuality, that it is something corrupting and sinister and that poor little innocent Harry is the victim of it. ‘Woke’ is simply being alert to prejudice and discrimination and yes Meghan probably has made Harry more aware of the racism within the British media. Now we’re all aware of the misogyny lurking there too.

He's a tosser who winds people up and has made a fortune off it.

Trying to excuse this with "It's just Jeremy being Jeremy, he doesn't mean it, you know what he's like" is akin to saying "boys will be boys".

What he wrote wasn't common garden misogyny. It was utterly abhorrent. And who cares if it was a scene on a TV show. That show isn't there to teach us how to behave, is it? It's not some sort of new moral code for our society that renders him free from the requirement to take responsibility of his words.

PipinwasAuntieMabelsdog · 20/12/2022 00:16

He's vile. However, calling for his arrest is OTT. Meghan is in the US, when she comes back here, she is secured up to the eyeballs and what would you arrest him for? He's not told people to do those things, so he's not inciting anything, he's not assaulted her, as she will not be in apprehension of imminent harm. He was writing about a 'dream' to arrest him for thoughts and feelings would be an affront to democracy and verging on thought crime.
