Barely able to control my bladder usually.

Got an awful cough and of course every time I cough, even if I have just emptied my bladder, I wee.

Its fucking annoying and embarrassing and just bloody soul destroying.

2 showers a day, pads, worrying about smelling and getting sore.

My body is just ruined I think.

I've got that cough too, as well as diarrhoea from the antibiotics. So could be worse...

Creativecake · 17/12/2022 16:51

Yes…wearing pads because covid cough. 2 kids and my pelvic floor is shot.

Dayandnightreunite · 17/12/2022 16:52

Solidarity. If it makes you feel less alone, I had a sneezing fit in the car last week and pretty much pissed myself. The pad didn't cope and with each sneeze it just got worse.

Am exactly the same have been coughing for at least 4 weeks and going through umpteen boxes of tenna lady I share your pain!

BeyondTheLetterOfTheLawTheLetter · 17/12/2022 16:53

I have that cough, and when it started had a UTI too. So every time I coughed = razorblades

Luckily it's just the cough and regular pissing myself now. DW has it too, so the washing pile of piss is getting ridiculous!

FatAgainItsLettuceTime · 17/12/2022 16:55

I don't know what it is about this specific cough but I'm having this problem too. Usually I feel the cough coming and can cross my legs of tighten the muscles but this cough is so sudden and violent that it just defies all normal measures.

mommatoone · 17/12/2022 16:59

Same here OP- oh the joys!! I vomited last night cos of the crap on my chest , pissed the bed in the process cos i couldnt make it to the bathroom.
Wtf is going on.

dementedma · 17/12/2022 17:01

I have the dreadful cough but no pissing Im glad to say. Hope you all feel better, and drier, soon

bellac11 · 17/12/2022 17:05

Yes, I have wet the bed, my work chair, my car chair and the sofa. Even after just going to toilet

the cough has gone off now to that degree but still there and a little bit keeps coming out each time. Im worried its permanently damaged muscles around that area. Plus awful pains in ribs and stomach from the strain and gagging due to retching

I found it so sudden and violent that I couldnt get breath in before coughing out so Im coughing out air I dont have in me, wetting myself inn the process.

QuinkWashable · 17/12/2022 17:07

yep. I can recommend Aldi incontinence pads (Lidl are OK, Aldi are better)

My pelvic floor is OK normally, but the moment I have a cold and I'm sneezing/coughing for a longer period, it just gives up the ghost entirely.

anunseemlylovefordustin · 17/12/2022 17:08

Oh my god, SO much solidarity with you. Thought it was just me! I’m 50, on week four of the cough and prior to the last couple of weeks have never had any issues with pelvic floor. Last two weeks have been getting worse and worse - I actually ordered an elvie pelvic floor exerciser last night, and a box of Tena pads! This bloody cough can DO ONE.

ApplesinmyPocket · 17/12/2022 17:09

I had that cough a few weeks ago and the exact same thing happened to me.
It was so depressing! After a few days of constantly changing knickers, tights, pyjamas etc I moved into the ASDA version of Tena lady for the duration. They were surprisingly comfortable and relieved me of the extra horrible stress of this foul symptom.

HeBeaverandSheBeaver · 17/12/2022 17:10

Yes same. Cough reasonable but it's still Annoying. Anyone tried a babies nappy when it's at its worst. Does it stay put.

HeBeaverandSheBeaver · 17/12/2022 17:11

I use Aldi too. Night ones even better

BrewandBiscuit · 17/12/2022 17:12

Absolutely the same!

Parmavi0lets · 17/12/2022 17:14

Yes. It's horrible. Totally soul destroying too, because I've been working really hard since the summer to try and fix my knackered pf once and for all (kids are teens, this is long overdue) and this is the thanks I get.

Solidarity with you all 💐

Anubis68 · 17/12/2022 17:16

i feel your pain i have bladder issues after my accident in 2013 now have cauda equina syndrome :(

Ohtheweatheroutsideistoocold · 17/12/2022 17:18

Same here, its driving me mad, I've not even had kids so I cant blame it on that

AnyFucker · 17/12/2022 17:22

It’s a weird thing

Last week I had this horrendous bug with violent sneezing and coughing. It caused me to piss myself everytime with no warning and I don’t even usually have bladder issues 😵‍💫

Willdenytothedeath · 17/12/2022 17:22

It's so awful. I've never had pelvic issues, and here I am wearing adult pull ups!!!

katmarie · 17/12/2022 17:22

I had 3 weeks of covid cough, and then another 2 weeks of coughing with the same virus I think. My bladder has never recovered from my first baby being born, and the second pregnancy just compounded the issue. Now if I get a cough my bladder control gets worse and worse, as it goes on, and this virus has been particularly bad for sudden, really viscious coughing fits, so I have had to wear incontinence pants night and day. All in all I've spent a fortune on tena pants and pads. It's mortifying and humiliating. I've called my doctor and asked for a referral to get it sorted which he was happy to do, but basically said it might take more than a year. It just compounds the misery of a cough into being ten times worse.

Vitriolinsanity · 17/12/2022 17:22

I hear you OP. I can't look at a trampoline at the best of times, but Covid cough is a bloody nightmare.

Anotherloverholeinyohead · 17/12/2022 17:33

I thought it was just me! Had the cough for five/six weeks (and general feeling rubbish) and am going through umpteen pairs of pants a day due to pissing myself ☹️. But then I came on my period and it was a new fresh hell. Wetting myself and flooding at the same time. I have never visited the bathroom such much. Sorry if tmi but I am totally dine with it now.

Theeyeballsinthesky · 17/12/2022 17:37

same OP same!! Have now ordered incontinence pants as a last resort cos sanitary towels just aren’t cutting it 🤦🏻‍♀️
