Barely able to control my bladder usually.

Got an awful cough and of course every time I cough, even if I have just emptied my bladder, I wee.

Its fucking annoying and embarrassing and just bloody soul destroying.

2 showers a day, pads, worrying about smelling and getting sore.

My body is just ruined I think.

Same ! Buying Tena tomorrow. Normal pads just not enough - it's great isn't it.

Jellyjam36 · 17/12/2022 21:30

Similar position, ended up wearing the tenna lady pants I bought for post birth. Horrendous cough it's awful.

OutofControl3 · 17/12/2022 21:39

Can I join in to this pity party! 😔 I'm coughing too 37 weeks pregnant and belly is hurting so much when I cough, nose running and feel completely crap! Cannot get settled and all I want to do is sleep but so uncomfortable 😫

Oh my people! I too am part of the pissing cough crew. Week 2 of this and I'm thoroughly fed up of it. Pads and washing galore!

Peae · 17/12/2022 21:52

I thought I was the only one experiencing this! So far my bladder has not been too bad but the cough is really getting me down.

Are men being affected too?

tonyhawks23 · 17/12/2022 21:53

Im not overweight, i dont think its that, its just such a severe cough. And yes to coughing guts out Its so so bad.

Serena1977 · 17/12/2022 21:56

So, how is everyone managing to sleep? Even being propped up with pillows is still tilted too much for me. I'm sitting almost upright with my head lolling about.😥

GabrielAgreste · 17/12/2022 22:01

Oh my! There’s loads of us.

I’ve been so embarrassed about this - I don’t generally have bladder issues - I did loads of work on my pelvic floor strength after it was ruined by the fairly rapid birth of my 4kg 2nd baby!

This cough though…

Twinmumandone18 · 17/12/2022 22:01

Oh god it’s awful isn’t it. I had covid and basically wet myself constantly. It did go away but it was horrendous.

The always sensitive bladder pads are the best. Thinner than tena and they absorb so much wee! I couldn’t even wear the pants because I was getting so wet that I had to constantly change them and felt gross… Also some cream (vagisil) incase you get sore.

I

Parmavi0lets · 17/12/2022 22:03

@Serena1977 I can't believe your nurse said that - total rubbish. I'm not overweight and have had these issues since having children.

Re sleeping- I'm also propped up on 2 pillows.

Twinmumandone18 · 17/12/2022 22:04

Oh for sleep I did wear the special pants. Better that than basically wetting the bed! 🙈

Also don’t be embarrassed it’s really common especially with the amount of viruses around that cause such bad coughs.

cushioncovers · 17/12/2022 22:05

Same here 52 going through the menopause so now I can barely hold onto a full bladder anymore. Caught covid recently and spent weeks peeing every time I coughed, now I've caught that dreadful cold that everyone had had and been peeing myself again. So fed up with it.

LowbrowVictoriana · 17/12/2022 22:08

I'm sorry you're all going through this; but at the same time, I'm glad it's not just me!

I have the occasional, little bit of a stress dribble (usually sneezing or lifting furniture) but I can usually cough fine. This cough is something else though!

familyissues12345 · 17/12/2022 22:12

I've got an awful virus at the moment that seems to have vertigo attached. I attempted to have a shower last night, got out and whilst half dressed I threw up everywhere and proceeded to wet myself Blush
Today I threw up in the kitchen. It's been a great few days

QueenBeex · 17/12/2022 22:15

I've literally just coughed and pissed through onto the sofa reading this 😳 I'm on week two of it! I've pissed the bed, every pair of pyjamas I own, its absolutely ridiculous. Same thing happens whenever I've got a sickness bug, I piss myself every time I throw up. With baby no.2 morning sickness was a pain in the arse because I just knew I would be pissing the whole time too!

Berlinlover · 17/12/2022 22:17

I’m 46, don’t have kids and for the first time in my life this week have peed while coughing. I wasn’t aware this could happen to women who haven’t had kids.

DaisyChristmasBauble · 17/12/2022 22:20

Yes I’m a few months postpartum and thought my pelvic floor was fine…until The Cough started. Coughed the other day too until I threw up. There’s no end in sight to it!

thankyouforthesun · 17/12/2022 22:21

@Serena1977 I'm size 10, normal weight, got this cough and have been vomiting and weeing myself at the same time. I did all my pelvic floor exercises after pregnancy, I'm a marathon runner normally. Your nurse was really rude to you, it's not you it's the bastard fucking cough.

MadMadMadamMim · 17/12/2022 22:24

Oh Good God. I thought it was just me. Thank you all for posting. I feel less pathetic now with my bladder issue. Sympathy to all.

userxx · 17/12/2022 22:30

mommatoone · 17/12/2022 16:59

Same here OP- oh the joys!! I vomited last night cos of the crap on my chest , pissed the bed in the process cos i couldnt make it to the bathroom.
Wtf is going on.

Yep, this is bleak, pissing whilst puking. Winning combination.

Mrsfussypants1 · 17/12/2022 22:35

I've never coughed and wet myself in my life until I came down with this cough whatever it is. My pelvic floor is great and I'm fit, active and not overweight. 1 week in and I'm feeling a bit better, temperature has gone, sore throat gone, snot gone, aches gone. Still this constant hacking cough and peeing myself. Reading through all your posts is reassuring, hopefully we'll all be dry in 2023.

ThreeLocusts · 17/12/2022 22:40

Solidarity everyone. So glad I'm not the only one struggling with this of late.

I have MS so always had to expect this problem one day, but now it's crept up on me in a matter of weeks... cold makes it worse so with the current temperatures I have to plan itineraries around public toilets.

Hope those coughs pass right speedily, and the side effects too!

Nat6999 · 17/12/2022 22:50

I had covid last week & wet myself nearly every time I coughed. My only advice is to try & sit on the edge of a firm surface if you need to cough & press yourself down as hard as you can. The only thing that stopped me coughing was day & night nurse, I don't know if it was the vile taste & the thought of having to take another dose that did it, also vick on your feet & your chest & throat in bed.

Blocked · 17/12/2022 23:05

If it makes you feel any better I literally shit myself a few times the week after I started Sertraline. Wtf.

Legobaby · 17/12/2022 23:20

Yep - this is me. I have never had this before, had Covid in October and then another cough which just hasn’t gone and is causing incontinence, it smells really strong and sometimes I can feel it dribbling out as I walk - constantly paranoid that I smell. Miserable.
