Does anyone else NOT have their Christmas trees and decorations up?

It’s literally a week before Christmas and I still don’t have any trees, decorations or lights up yet. I don’t think I’ve ever been as late as this!

I think life has just got in the way a little, I’ve been busy, tired and just haven’t been bothered!

anyone else? I do want to put mine up though, I’m going to have to make the effort to do it this weekend or early-mid next week at the latest!

I haven't either 😕

Herbie0987 · 16/12/2022 17:09

We put ours up the Sunday before Christmas Day

GiantKitten · 16/12/2022 17:09

Hand up here.
We have a tree, it’s in a bucket of water (well, ice now) in the back yard.
Will be decorated on Sunday though, if you want to have a race 🥰
(which is quite early for us because of the way Christmas falls this year)

And , just to make you feel better I only started writing my cards this afternoon Grin

TooBigForMyBoots · 16/12/2022 17:11

Me. I'm in the middle of doing the pre-tree-up clean so it will be up this weekend.

lipstickwoman · 16/12/2022 17:11

Nope. Sometime next week is plenty early enough

OneFrenchEgg · 16/12/2022 17:11

Me, I hate the whole faff of it. Take them down on 27th.

Topseyt123 · 16/12/2022 17:11

Not up here yet either. Waiting until DD1 and DD3 are back here early next week and then the three DDs can put the tree up as usual. It has always been their job. 😃

RidingMyBike · 16/12/2022 17:12

Nope. We never put them up until the weekend before Christmas.

dementedpixie · 16/12/2022 17:12

Ours is still in the loft. Never been this late before. We're the bah humbug house in the street!

AbbieLexie · 16/12/2022 17:13

No! No decorations either. We usually put lights up outside and turn them on December 1st.

PlaitBilledDuckyPuss · 16/12/2022 17:13

No, not yet - tree will go up over the weekend Xmas Smile

Will leave it up till after New Year so that's plenty of time to enjoy it.

All my decs are up but I haven't even bought cards yet and the neighbours have started posting theirs.

BobinogBobbleHat · 16/12/2022 17:14

Ours goes up Christmas Eve so now would be very early for us!

Cheesypasta · 16/12/2022 17:14

Like you, I have wanted to get them up but life ink in the way. Finally put tree up a few days ago and have just put the decs on!

So do I, although I quite enjoy Christmas Day with my family. Can't be arsed with decorations though.

Left to me they'd go up on Christmas Eve and come down on Boxing Day. They'll be down at or before New Year.

WitchDancer · 16/12/2022 17:15

Me. I'm too tired and unmotivated so I'm waiting for my DS's to do it for me. They say they'll do it tomorrow.

Muchtoomuchtodo · 16/12/2022 17:16

We have one string our outdoor lights up and that’s it. We usually get it all sorted by the second weekend of December but I just cannot summon any enthusiasm this year.
I wrapped everything today - last chance with no one else at home but didn’t bother with the usual Christmas music and mulled wine. CBA!

Athenen0ctua · 16/12/2022 17:17

Not yet. I have the advent calendar up and a few reindeer figurines that have been there all year. Only one Christmas card has come in the post so I won't be stringing them up until I bring my work ones home on the 23rd. I'll get my Christmas tablecloth out this weekend. The tree needs to be repotted and moved to the front of the house and lights put on it but it's too cold!

Ginisatonic · 16/12/2022 17:17

I put ours up today. Normal time for us as I can’t be doing with them being put up too early. Rest of street has looked like Las Vegas since the 1st of December.

DillDanding · 16/12/2022 17:17

We haven’t, but we never do until the week before.

We are having a party tomorrow night so that will spur me on. My husband has brought the trees in from the garden where they were sitting in buckets of solid ice. I need to go and pick holly and ivy, but it’s so cold!

JaninaDuszejko · 16/12/2022 17:19

Ours goes up the weekend before Christmas so this weekend. They'll be up for 3 weeks which is plenty.

Giggorata · 16/12/2022 17:19

Ours goes up on Christmas Eve. I'm actually thinking about doing it a day or two earlier this year, as we haven't got the DC, which means it will be less of a faff when we go to carols on the village green.
I’m giving up decorations too, so will just send DH out for some greenery for the mantlepiece and bung on some lights.

Alwaysworryingoversomething · 16/12/2022 17:21

Just bought ours this afternoon.

Very early for me but we're away after Christmas so doing it a bit earlier.

MrsThimbles · 16/12/2022 17:21

Me. They only ever go up about 4 or 5 days before Christmas and don’t come down till the day after The Epiphany
