Does anyone else NOT have their Christmas trees and decorations up?

It’s literally a week before Christmas and I still don’t have any trees, decorations or lights up yet. I don’t think I’ve ever been as late as this!

I think life has just got in the way a little, I’ve been busy, tired and just haven’t been bothered!

anyone else? I do want to put mine up though, I’m going to have to make the effort to do it this weekend or early-mid next week at the latest!

Nothing here. Told DS the tree isn't going up until his room is tidy. It'll never go up at this rate ...

Somanysocks · 17/12/2022 07:46

It quite often never goes up as it requires the dreaded journey into the loft, although I always intend to but then can't be bothered as it gets too late.

If you wait until the 27th/28th, people start chucking them out and you can pick one up for free.

We've had the tree up since 3rs December but cards... nope!

We've barely had any which suits me fine but I do feel a bit rubbish that I've not sent them to extended family and the only excuse I have is that I've been too busy... 😬

SockQueen · 17/12/2022 08:36

Nope. Will try to get one this weekend. Just haven't had time/headspace/desire to repeatedly hoover up needles thus far.

Rubyupbeat · 17/12/2022 09:23

Me!
Just not feeling it this year, first time in my whole 58 years that I probably won't be celebrating amongst decorations.

Me, I just don’t care but need to for the kids but don’t like them going up too early but still can’t be bothered with it just to take them down again, kids calling me the grinch

There was still loads of choice in my local b&q in all sizes yesterday though as they are now 50% off I imagine will start to go.

I got one of the last 3 from the wanky barn up the road that sells artisan decorations and twiggy shit.
Got stuck in the car park and had to be pushed out.
The poor girl seems to have lost the joy of tree selling and gave me a tenner off.
Been out all day so tomorrow is decorate day.

Got tree and window lights out the loft today. Have attached lights to the windows and have started decorating the tree. Lights and tinsel are on the tree so far.

Mine were up December 1st. I love the month of December, all the films on TV, decorated restaurants and shops, frosty mornings,
....but come Dec 27th, I take them all down 😁

BlancmanegeBunny · 17/12/2022 21:59

My dad died last week, I was too busy visiting to put them up before and now I don't want to.
My 15 year old has learning difficulties and autism, he isn't coping well with not having the decorations up so I will compromise and just put the tree up in living room tomorrow.

Cherrysoup · 17/12/2022 22:03

Been sick/off work all week and I don’t think we’re having the tree up due to year old puppies who think anything round is their toy. We might put up lights, they’re always lovely.

cushioncovers · 17/12/2022 22:07

Have two 5 month old kittens so not even bothering to put up any decorations this year. It's actually quite nice not to have to bother.

RidingMyBike · 17/12/2022 22:45

Sorry for your loss @BlancmanegeBunny Flowers that must be difficult, especially so close to Christmas.
