Stupidly difficult work quiz

Seasons greetings!

The stupidly difficult work quiz is back for those of you that remember (@rosegoldwatcher).

Basically there are a series of very hard puzzles to solve - each puzzle solve gives you a password to move onto the next stage.

I've already managed to solve stage one myself (go me!) but I've ground to a halt as usual on the second stage (which consists of 8 individual puzzles to solve).

Here's a couple of puzzles i'm stuck on - any help much appreciated!

Any thoughts as to the meaning of the yellow dots?

do we need to group them? I think that"s been a "thing" in previous years.

Xmasfairy86 · 13/12/2022 14:31

taking the dots in the corner to represent which letter to take I can make Capital of... from the 1st 9

Xmasfairy86 · 13/12/2022 14:32

I have to do the school run so can't finish it!

ApocalypseNowt · 13/12/2022 14:32

It has soupdragon but we do have the following instructions at the top of this puzzle so i think they should be in order for this one:

Identify the locations/landmarks to help solve the puzzle.

Where "The" is the first word of answers, this is excluded. Read left to right, top to bottom

Capital of country shown in picture one which is Mexico, so capital is Mexico city

PatriciaHolm · 13/12/2022 14:37

5 is night crawler

Thank you! I was discussing the plot with someone the other day. Neither of us mentioned the title as we both knew which film we were talking about. Now I can see it again!

Cheeseandabsolutelycrackers · 13/12/2022 14:45

Question time
Volkswagon

Penfold

BiliousOhGod · 13/12/2022 14:49

The third clue in the "straight" ones is Michael Chrichton.

minou123 · 13/12/2022 14:49

I can't believe I missed the answer to the video game.

But can I say @MangoBiscuit for Prime Minister

minou123 · 13/12/2022 14:51

Only one I know so far is
Part 3
Connects golf and polo = Clubs

Cheeseandabsolutelycrackers · 13/12/2022 14:53

Rudyard Kipling
Gabriel Garcia-Marquez
Virginia Woolf
Agatha Christie

Are all the anagrams in the third section

GoldenCupidon · 13/12/2022 14:54

I think number 3 of Part 2 is a lyric to Abba's Dancing Queen

"See that girl, watch that scene, digging the dancing queen"

I think number 3 of Part 2 is a lyric to Abba's Dancing Queen

"See that girl, watch that scene, digging the dancing queen"

So I think all of them are lyrics although I don't know if they're Abba - probably not

Bimbleberries · 13/12/2022 14:59

oh I just worked on the anagrams, and someone has got there already!
I didn't know the third one anyway.

ifIwerenotanandroid · 13/12/2022 15:02

'Which word can precede Voldemort...' (first one)

Just got to get the bins in.
