How often do you wash your hair?!

I saw a video earlier, I believe it may have been students at a pretty well known hair stylists (although I can’t for the life of me remember which now) being asked how often they wash their hair. Most said once a week, quite a few once a month. There seemed to be a bit of shock when a couple said they washed theirs everyday or every other day.

How often do you wash yours? Any one know how often you are supposed to? I only ask as I wash mine every other day and by then it’s feeling pretty oily and looking like crap… maybe I’m washing it too often?! Dry shampoo does nothing for me though…

Every morning. Thick curly hair and wake up looking like I’ve been dragged through a hedge backwards. I have to wash it in order to tame it.

Once a week now. It’s beyond bra strap length and very thick.

I used to wash it everyday! I had to work up to once a week but it’s so much better condition now.

2-3x a week

everytime in the shower (most days) I get my hair wet and rinse it out. not sure if that can be called washing.
shampoo I use once or twice a week.

Every day but it's quite short and quick to dry. I used to do it less when it was longer.

Around every 5 days.

I wash mine everyday, otherwise it looks really greasy. I would love to get out of this habit, does anyone have any tips on how to 'train' the hair so I can wash it less?

Have just loaded my hair with dry shampoo... Does that count? On a good, organised week, twice. Otherwise, once and lots of dry shampoo. Have very dry frizzy hair so doesn't need it. Just looked a bit lank tonight so a dry shampoo tonight, sleep on it and a babylis big hair through the roots in the morning and it'll be good as new!

The person using fairy liquid please take care because it could damage your eyes if you get fairy liquid in them.

Although I'm not sure if you are joking or not, I've used fairy liquid as a shampoo, it's excellent for stripping out chlorine from the hair of regular swimmers (used once a month) but I found I needed to use a ton of conditioner afterwards followed by a wash in normal shampoo to get it back to normal (usualy I don't use conditioner). It's really harsh.

Every day. My hair is straight and fine and I have oily skin. The only upside is that is does always feel very silky and smooth, almost like toddler or baby hair.

I’ve got it in my eyes and had no problems, no different from getting regular shampoo or conditioner in your eyes or any other kind of detergent. Rinse out immediately.
