I've got DD:
Christmas bedspread
Julia Donaldson book advent
Wooden keepsake advent
Elf on the shelf activities book
Little Miss Christmas book
Reindeer headband
Christmas PJs

Baby DS has got a white chocolate calender, a wooden keepsake advent and PJs.

We dont do most of this stuff so I haven’t got DDs anything, but your baby doesn’t need chocolate every day. Could you swap that for a picture advent calendar so he sees a nice picture each day instead?

Cnp41 · 24/11/2022 16:27

Their what now? Um. Nothing? I will be hoping this is something that doesn't catch on. I think I must be a grinch though 😂🎅

swashbucklecheer · 24/11/2022 16:28

What is a December 1st box !?! Sounds like another commercially driven insta nonsense that many people will feel pressurised to follow yet can't afford.

Interested in this thread?

Why are you talking like this is even an actual thing OP? Grin

Lulu1919 · 24/11/2022 16:29

Mine opened an advent calendar on Dec 1st but never had a box !?!?
They are now both married ..so maybe things have changed

trailrunner85 · 24/11/2022 16:30

This must be a wind up.
Surely nobody does a December 1st box.

But that's the response you're wanting so I'm not going to bite.
Instead I'll say 24 Faberge eggs (one for each day of Advent), a pile of handmade Christmas pyjamas crafted from gold thread; three French hens; two turtle doves and a partridge in a pear tree.

Wishawisha · 24/11/2022 16:30

I thought people did Christmas Eve boxes not 1st December?

We’ll put our reusable advent calendar up and get some sweets or mini chocolates to put in.

AuntieMarys · 24/11/2022 16:31

Ffs.
More shit nobody needs.

Puzzlerly · 24/11/2022 16:31

😂

tickticksnooze · 24/11/2022 16:31

What are you talking about?

BeyondMyWits · 24/11/2022 16:32

We'll get the fabric-pocket advent calendar out from the back of the wardrobe and fill it with chocolate coins.
Our family tradition is that Christmas is about the day itself (other families' traditions may vary).

mynameiscalypso · 24/11/2022 16:32

DS has a chocolate advent calendar. He does not like chocolate. I do.

cranberrymilkshake · 24/11/2022 16:33

I'm sorry but what on earth is December 1st box? 🙄
Are presents on xmas day not enough?

Brokendaughter · 24/11/2022 16:33

Is your 'December 1st' box a ridiculous way of talking about the storage box you keep Christmas stuff in while it's in the attic?

December 1st boxes are not a thing.

TwinklyBranch · 24/11/2022 16:33

Oh OP. You should have put this in the Christmas topic. Out here in the normal world, nobody gives a shit about the boxes.

AriettyHomily · 24/11/2022 16:33

Erm, nothing. They get an advent calendar does that count?

BorisJohnsonsHair · 24/11/2022 16:34

Unbridezilla · 24/11/2022 16:34

Seriously? So there is a dec 1st box, Christmas Eve box, elf on the shelf, santa trips ect.

It's no wonder some people's Christmas costs a fortune and kids are over wrought by the time actual Christmas happens

BeyondMyWits · 24/11/2022 16:35

mynameiscalypso · 24/11/2022 16:32

DS has a chocolate advent calendar. He does not like chocolate. I do.

Good choice!

Exactly.

Never had one, never intend to have one.

SnowAndIcicles · 24/11/2022 16:35

What fresh hell is this?

How mean ! No gold rings or drummers drumming ?

zen1 · 24/11/2022 16:37

From the OP title, I thought you meant the first door on the Advent calendar, but obviously not.

HeraldicBlazoning · 24/11/2022 16:38

But what would the elf on the shelf arrive in if there is not a SPECIAL BOX?
