I was never a huge fan of Steve Wright and he certainly had a lot of detractors.

However, careful what you wish for

Scott Mills is sooo dull

I can't believe that he was the best replacement for Steve wright.

OJ Borg was a fantastic stand in but now this is mind numbingly boring. Thank god it's only 2 hours

Any suggestions for a good show in the afternoon?

You're not wrong - Mr Mills is professional but incredibly bland.

Maybe Radio 2 needs some new blood?

I heard a rumour that Steve Wright might be taking his afternoon show to another radio station - fingers crossed!!

Scott Mills seems to have had a leash put on him for radio 2, I don't remember his radio 1 shows being dull

Rylan is good and I love his Saturday show. He's maybe too busy doing other things though.

Scott Mills doesn't seem to inject any energy into his delivery.

I'm so glad you posted this as I was thinking the same driving home from work yesterday. Steve Wright was irritating but at least had some good bits in his show.

Scott Mills is so bland, thank goodness it's only 2 hours but OJ Both was brilliant.

Think Radio 2 have dropped a bollock there.

At least he's not avaliable to cover Ken Bruce now. I listen more thoroughly in the morning.

OJ Borg was great covering for a month. He's clear to listen to and perky without sounding like a hyperactive puppy.

he is such a bore. I switch off at 2 then back on at 4 for Sara Cox.

I like Craig Charles on 6Music, plays a good mix of stuff and not boring.

OJ Borg was awful!! So dull and didn’t seem to have grasped the fact that women could actually be his guests too. Scott Mills is v bland, surprised he was the best they could find.

Oj is fab.i never no why he hasny been given primetime.^^he did the night shift which were great.not sure if he still.does.if so catchup on them?

Rylan is the best show on radio 2!

For a long, long time on R1, Scott presented with Chris Stark and it was quite enjoyable, if a bit silly. I do like Scott so I hope he settles in.

Really liked OJ.

Heard about half an hour of the new show in the car today. Didn’t like the drag queen intro, but liked the music - a vast improvement on Steve Wright. Must admit, didn’t actually/hear Scott Mills.

So , I gave Scott Mills a listen , found him a bit meh , and today was the last straw
Sadly , I don’t like Sarah Cox either , she’s too loud , so I’m stuffed for easy listening in the afternoon

Do the BBC still have the policy of periodically clearing out the presenters when they reach a certain age and shunting them up to the station one number higher?

I'm guessing Ken is the one exception to that, though - even the BBC isn't that stupid to kill their golden goose.

I tune into Simon Mayo at four now instead of five and listen to my Apple Music playlists from two to four. If I’ve missed Sunday morning love songs then I’ll catch up at two but can be confusing when the 1000 news comes on at three in the afternoon!

Scott Mills is very dull . Although Steve Wright was a bit much sometimes I kinda miss him . I didn't like OJ . I am trying boom in the afternoon now
