I was never a huge fan of Steve Wright and he certainly had a lot of detractors.

However, careful what you wish for

Scott Mills is sooo dull

I can't believe that he was the best replacement for Steve wright.

OJ Borg was a fantastic stand in but now this is mind numbingly boring. Thank god it's only 2 hours

Any suggestions for a good show in the afternoon?

I used to like Scott Mills many years ago when I listened to R1. I don't really like him on R2 - he's full of himself and the music is too dancey. I don't like the celeb talk, but a lot of them do that. I like Sara Cox as she's one of the few who sounds genuine.

Best is Ken Bruce, and Saturdays. Sundays are so very disappointing now.

I love listening to R2 but SM is quite dull and likes to name drop too much! Love OJ Borg as listened to him on night shifts, he would've been great in the afternoon! I get a bit annoyed with Zoe in the morning, puts herself down a lot but seems to think she's self depreciating. Vernon's music in the morning was better but he comes across as too keen. Love Ken though, if he goes I go!

The gobshite that is on at 4pm is worse

Agree re Sunday's, I go over to Cerys from 11am. Can't stand MB or EP, don't mind Rob Beckett but miss POG!

This is making me nostalgic for the 00s. Alan Carr, Simon Mayo, Graham Norton (though I liked Jonathan Ross even better). Those were the days.

I used to love Simon Mayo.
I don't mind Gary Davis and agree with Pp Vernon Kay is good.
Jeremy Vine is really irritating - almost anyone standing in for him is an improvement. And he keeps doing segments that don't work on radio (like testing an air fryer or doing exercise or describing a random pet/animal some guest has brought in on a slow news day)

Radio 2 on weekends is awful most of the time I do rather like Tony Blackburn on Saturday morning if I'm up early enough to catch some of his 60s show. I even laugh at some of his jokes.

I'm not a massive fan of 60s pop but Tony plays some soul and Northern soul stuff which I love.

Oh to be back in the 70s as a teenager again ...😄

I listen to Graham Norton on Virgin at the weekend but also Liza and Rylan. I miss Paul O’Grady. He made my week!

Disagree about Sundays... I love Kate and Jason in the morning... Adore Johnnie Walker in the afternoon... Huge error for Paul O Grady to go...

Ken Bruce is the only Radio 2 DJ I listen to now. Usually switch to BBC Newcastle or Radio Scotland, although I lose reception on BBC Scotland if I drive too far south or east.

Have even taken to listening to audible books in the car. Currently listening to Michelle Obama. I'm definitely getting old!

I was just thinking the same this afternoon. Scott is lovely but his voice bores me to tears, never in a million years did I think I'd miss Serious Jocking !! but here we are. Loved OJ , Gary Davies is brill but I love Vernon Kay he just cheers me right up !

While on the subject I really really miss Sundays with Paul O'Grady and his side kick Malcolm after Jonnie Walker !

It's sad that Vernon was outed as ( another) cheater.
However, it's sad what he did to Tess and she deserves better.
On the radio he is fun though. He has a personality at least
