Do You Know Many People Who Still Haven't Had Covid?

DH and I have had all vaccinations and boosters. We're both over sixty and we live in a small, remote Scottish village. I believe that this is probably the reason that neither of us has caught Covid (yet).

The DC live in London and three of them have had it (two of them, twice).

Whilst there have been countless cases of Covid in our village, we have escaped.

Does anyone else know people who still haven't had it?

I have not knowingly not had it. I work in Healthcare so have tested regularly. I've cared for covid patients, worked throughout lockdown and have generally lived normally throughout. Two of the children (we didn't isolate them within the house) have caught it but dh, myself and my youngest dc have remained covid free.

Glittertwins · 02/01/2023 21:14

None of us have had it in our house

IntentionalError · 02/01/2023 21:14

I had never knowingly had covid until I tested positive for the first time today. I have lost my sense of smell, so I knew there was a fair chance I would see two lines, and there they were. I’m just glad Isuccessfully dodged the bullet until I was fully vaccinated.

I've not had it. Nor have either of my DC, my parents or brother (although SIL has had it twice so don't know how he's manages to avoid it).

Piscesmumma1978 · 02/01/2023 21:23

Myself, dp, dad and brother haven't had it.

We've had it in the house twice and still avoided. No idea how.

CathyorClaire · 02/01/2023 21:26

DC2 hasn't had it despite working in London in a public facing role.

DM hasn't yet had it despite me paying a visit the day I was + (tested neg the day before). She has however managed to catch a cold from one or other of the dc's who were snorking mildly over xmas.

WomanhoodIsABirthright · 02/01/2023 21:29

I haven't had it. I live in a holiday town in Europe. And I haven't had any vaccines.

Looneytune253 · 02/01/2023 21:30

I've not 'officially' had it. DH and I were poorly march 2020 before testing was a thing. He was significantly poorly and later on tested pos on an antibody test. Kids also had it mid pandemic and we were testing throughout and didn't get it. I work with children so quite a lot of coughing, sneezing etc and had a few poorly kids that subsequently tested pos but I never did. DH got it again recentish but not me. Didn't test kids this time round tho only tested myself when DH needed me to look after his elderly mum.

Coffeepot72 · 02/01/2023 21:32

I don’t think I’ve had COVID, I’ve never tested positive. I had a bit of a cold last year but tested negative throughout. I don’t test very often these days, so I could have had the ‘no symptoms’ version?

America12 · 02/01/2023 21:34

Several family members , including those who live with people who've had it.

MajorCarolDanvers · 02/01/2023 21:37

DH and 2 child mermaid haven't had it - as far as we know

But we haven't tested in a long time.

Children not mermaids

autienotnaughty · 02/01/2023 21:47

All fully vaccinated here. My dd has never had it even tho the rest of us have and she's a uni student.

happinessischocolate · 02/01/2023 21:48

I'd have t had it.

I do payroll at work, half the workforce (300) seem to never have been off with covid and the other half have been off repeatedly

Richmond212 · 02/01/2023 21:55

My hubby hasn't had it. I've had it 3x and all our kids 2x. He catches everything else even man flu once a week hahah but somehow has managed to avoid covid

Florenz · 02/01/2023 21:58

I had it for the first time about 3 weeks ago. I felt lousy and thought I had it a couple or times during lockdown but always tested negative.

Mummyme87 · 02/01/2023 21:58

Maybe just my husband. We live in London, he gets public transport to work and the city working in a massive office, albeit was shielding during that time when it was advised (he still went to shops and cafes just wore a mask). I work in a hospital face to face with patients and their visitors, and have had it 4 times (didn’t stay aware from OH). Two kids in primary school both had it at least once.
my husband also has CVID (common variable immune disorder) which means he has fuck all immune system and gets everything. He injects immunotherapy once a week. And he’s never had covid. So bloody weird!!

Scarecrowrowboat · 02/01/2023 22:02

Me, kids, my mum. All in London. Kids no vax, me and mum fully vaccinated. Kids aren't at school so that probably helps.

scaredysquiggle · 02/01/2023 18:34

This thread was in my watchlist so I'm bumping it because finally I've caught Covid. No one else in our family has it - just me. I've never been so poorly.

Sorry to hear that.

I replied not long ago saying I hadn't yet had it but I now have it! My dds haven't yet had it and I'm wondering if it's possible for them not to get it from me living in the same small house

BenniesHedges · 02/01/2023 22:13

Neither me or DH have knowingly had it, despite being around those who have.
Neither of us are vaccinated.
The kids who are all off our hands have all had it, one of them is just getting over a third bout.
They've had all their vaccinations.

Branleuse · 02/01/2023 22:15

Dp and dd havent had it. I think their time is coming!
Ive had it

EnrichedAtrixo · 02/01/2023 22:23

DH and I had it for first time week before Christmas. Both fully vaccinated. Our DS didn’t have it at same time. He hasn’t tested positive yet. We live in London, use tube etc. Most other people I know have had it.

piedbeauty · 02/01/2023 22:27

My h, my dd and I haven't had it yet. And dd is 19 and at uni, clubbing all the time. 🤷🏼‍♀️

containsnuts · 04/01/2023 17:22

Jinxed myself posting on here. Got our first positives today! Survived nearly 3 years with DCs in school and clubs etc but somehow managed to get it during holidays when we've been mostly hanging about the house!
