Evri - delayed parcel. Am I going to receive it??

Ordered a parcel 8 days ago. Evri were meant to deliver it on Friday but they updated the tracking to say the delivery had been delayed and they would try to deliver it the next working day. Today is the next working day and the parcel isn’t out for delivery. Has this happened to anyone else? Did you receive your parcel? I’m worrying they’ve lost it :(

That happened to me and they delivered it the next day

Jules912 · 21/11/2022 13:04

Happened to me a couple of times, I suspect they give the drivers too many and they don't manage to get through them all.

amylou8 · 21/11/2022 13:07

About 1 in 10 of my parcels do this (I ship loads through work) it's really common. They normally get delivered in a day or two. I don't worry until tracking hasn't updated for 3 days.

BlackberryCat · 21/11/2022 13:08

Mine appeared after 6 weeks. They really are useless and their updates mean nothing.

Oh dear. Hope this doesn’t happen to me. It is a Christmas present and the item is sold out now :(

Having a nightmare with Evri lately, after never previously ever having a problem with them/Hermes.

I ordered from two companies at the start of November. Several days later I got the "your parcel has been delayed" emails. Then nothing. So a week or so after that I contacted the companies I'd ordered from. One refunded due to items out of stock. The other resent the parcels. Same thing has now happened again, email saying parcel delayed. In the meantime I have ordered from another company, not realising they also use Evri, and the same again. So I imagine in a week or so I'll be having to chase them up again and I guess just ask for a refund, as it seems Evri just can't deliver to me, for some reason. And I have literally just abandoned an online basket from another retailer when I got to checkout and saw Evri were the delivery company. There's no point ordering, even though I really wanted the goods.

Really frustrating. I'd pay more for another delivery option - Royal Mail, even with the strikes, would be fine. DPD have always been good. Anything but bloody Evri.

Well, it can be nice getting Christmas presents in January 😂

Fingers crossed it gets there on time though. Evri is just a bit of a gamble.

It didn’t come :( Really hope they haven’t lost it.

Sorry, but…

Evri - delayed parcel. Am I going to receive it??

I’m having a nightmare with Evri. Ordered from a company on a Monday, sent via Evri Tuesday, Wednesday the tracking updated saying they couldn’t deliver due to a road closure and they would update asap. Spoke to the sending company who said they couldn’t do anything until 7 days later. Waited 7 days, tracking never updated so the main company is resending, waiting to see if that turns up.

Figured it was a one off and in the waiting period, ordered an advent calendar for the same main company. It was sent Thursday, again via Evri and today the tracking has updated exactly the same as the previous one, couldn’t deliver due to road closure. There is something seriously wrong at my Evri local depot it looks like as my parcels are just not arriving. I’ve emailed the main company yet again as obviously if I have to wait yet another 7 days for them to agree to resend we will then be in to December which defeats the object of an advent calendar.

Well, I’ve still not received my parcel!

TruestRepairman · 26/11/2022 15:40

I've received all but one of mine since I posted, so there is hope.

Poor service, though. I wish so many companies didn't use them.

sparkellie · 26/11/2022 15:42

I had 2 deliveries scheduled for this week from the same company, 1 order split into 2. I got a message on Mon saying the 1st one was delayed (same thing - will attempt to deliver next working day), and then nothing. Then wed evening I had a message saying it had been delivered at 9.40pm (it hadn't) and the second part of the order arrived on Thurs. 1st part is still missing, I have reported it to evri but nothing so far.. Good luck OP!!

PearlclutchersInc · 26/11/2022 15:42

I've had the same. I'm hoping for Monday when I'm at home!

KendrickLamaze · 26/11/2022 17:17

Where in the country are you? Our local lady is on holiday and it's caused carnage as evri haven't arranged cover. The local Facebook groups are full of it. They say speak to the company you made the purchase from as the contract is with them.

Blessedbethefruitz · 26/11/2022 18:52

I feel your pain. One due from ebay and one from h&m on Thursday. Tracking just says delayed at local depot. They're usually good here, always the same lady. I fear they will be forever lost in a backlog at the depot...

cimena · 26/11/2022 18:58

oh I like Evri! new to them but so far way better than the others - they build me little shields out of the bins when they have to leave the parcel when I’m out.

Have faith OP

PAFMO · 26/11/2022 19:04

I've just (yesterday) had a row with Look Fantastic over Evri. Same email "been a delay" for a couple of days followed by "tried to deliver ran into a problem contact us". I contacted Evri who were fucking useless, couldn't say what the "problem" was or how it was going to be resolved other than "give us a different address"
Waited a couple more days then got hold of LF who said "only thing we can do is try and get the parcel back. We can't promise anything but if it comes back we'll refund you"
I stomped my feet and the person spoke to their manager and I was refunded straightaway.

MrsDorrington · 26/11/2022 19:18

I’ve had a couple of issues with them, which is a shame as our couriers are lovely.

I was due a delivery mid November but it’s still shown as in transit and the Evri app advises in that situation to contact the retailer after 7 days. I did, the retailer refunded immediately. I had already re-ordered the item and the re-order has made its way through the system and been delivered.

When you report non delivery to the retailer they contact Evri to find the parcel and send it back to them. If my original order does turn up I will refuse delivery as advised by retailer. If I come home to it on my doorstep I would contact the retailer for return instructions.

user1471453601 · 26/11/2022 19:36

In my experience the level of service is dependant on the individual doing the actual delivery. The person we have now is brilliant. The one before him was rubbish. Emailing to say he tried to deliver but no one was in. Err, we have cctv cameras front and back, no sign of them "trying to deliver"

I got an update saying there had been a road traffic incident that was 3 days ago, I'd like to know what road traffic incident takes 3 days to solve or work around. Hoping I get my parcel soon it Christmas presents.

OatFox · 29/11/2022 13:29

This happened to me and it was delivered a week later along with another parcel ordered next day delivery with Evri.

Amrapaali · 29/11/2022 13:59

Yep forget about the parcel OP. Evri are piss poor honestly.

Two of my parcels are in limbo. One retailer has refunded. I'm chasing up the other one

TruestRepairman · 29/11/2022 14:19

I noticed Evri were trending on Twitter earlier, lots of people having these exact problems - parcels mysteriously delayed, either with no reason given or "a road incident".
