What one nice thing have you done this weekend for YOU?

The news is so depressing so I thought I’d start this thread: What have you done this weekend that made you feel happy, relaxed or just gave you much needed space. I went for a bike ride in the beautiful forest near to where I live and enjoyed the peace and quiet and beautiful autumnal leaves. It was bliss.
How about you?

…..
Nothing. Sorry, that’s depressing. Does organised a Christmas night out count?

anewbook · 13/11/2022 18:26

Lovely thread!
I watched Virgin River on Netflix at 4pm under a heated throw 😀

Juicylychee · 13/11/2022 18:28

Got my nails done!

Whattodonext2020 · 13/11/2022 18:29

Absolutely! You have something to look forward to ☺️

Cooked nice meals and been in hot tub

Realising and appreciating how lucky I am, my trip to the hairdresser yesterday was meant to be a treat, not quite the colour I hoped for 😂 but in the scheme of things if that's all I have to worry about then it doesn't matter.
I worked today but I work from home, still managed to cook a roast and watch tv while eating it, realising a few years ago I didn't have that privilege.

Lostthetastefordahlias · 13/11/2022 18:32

Had my friend round yesterday evening to drink wine and watch a film after dc had gone to bed.

Billybagpuss · 13/11/2022 18:33

A glorious river swim. I wasn’t in for very long but there’s something about cold water that really relaxes and resets the body.

Lesina · 13/11/2022 18:34

Took a day out to go to London. Went to a museum and then took a boat up the river. It was bliss :)

  • I'm writing this with a box semi colour in my hair
  • Planted out 3 amaryllis bulbs I bought from lidl today
  • Pulled out the last of my runner and dwarf beans
  • Planted out some tulips and daffodil bulbs
Dacadactyl · 13/11/2022 18:35

Went swimming twice.

I bought myself a fig tree and planted it to train up the kitchen wall. I already have one, and this will make a pair.

The first one gives about 40 figs a year so hopefully this will double that. I love fresh figs with cream cheese and parma ham. 😋

Cleanthatup · 13/11/2022 18:36

I’ve had a super busy week/weekend but yesterday I went out with my mum for lunch which was lovely. Today I attended the remembrance service an a funeral directly afterwards (that was terribly sad) but I did get to see my childhood friends at the funeral and catch up with them. It’s was lovely to see them even if it was under such sad circumstances.

PuttingDownRoots · 13/11/2022 18:36

I poured myself a glass of wine 5 minutes ago.

I'm looking forward to my tv time on the sofa under the blanket later.

DH at work this weekend, so I've been driving the kids here there and everywhere and trying to be in two places at once.

TheMorigoul · 13/11/2022 18:37

Painted my toe nails
Went to the gym
Had a long hot bath

MrMrsJones · 13/11/2022 18:37

No FOR me but I did attend a "Dressing the Graves" event on Sat, and two Remembrance Parades with Army Cadets this weekend. The sun shone and the cadets were amazing.

flingingmelon · 13/11/2022 18:41

I've downloaded a game for my phone called I Love Hue which is a shade sorting game and I bloody love it.

AnApparitionQuipped · 13/11/2022 18:41

I went for a walk with DH in a country park, fed the wild birds, took some photographs of all the trees with their autumnal colours reflected in the lake, did some people-watching.

grayhairdontcare · 13/11/2022 18:42

I went to the expensive cake shop in the next town and bought a slice of Lemon cake.
It was bloody delicious

I’m loving how all these replies are so different 😊

Had a nap on the sofa this afternoon 😴

TiddlesTheTiger · 13/11/2022 18:45

I've done nothing in particular but I'm feeling refreshed just reading about what everyone on this thread has been doing.

Special shout-out to the divorce application!

VioletLemon · 13/11/2022 18:46

I've felt a bit low and this weekend I've really enjoyed seeing nobody outside my home, buying some big gorgeously scented candles, bingeing The Crown and having a watermelon Gin cooler. The only thing that's penetrated my good feeling is the worry it's too boring.

I adore figs!
I split them part-way through, sprinkle on brown sugar and a few squeezes of honey, put in a low oven until they are soft and sitting in a pool of the deepest purple liquid.
Eat with goats cheese or loads of cream.
Lick the cooking tin.
