What one nice thing have you done this weekend for YOU?

The news is so depressing so I thought I’d start this thread: What have you done this weekend that made you feel happy, relaxed or just gave you much needed space. I went for a bike ride in the beautiful forest near to where I live and enjoyed the peace and quiet and beautiful autumnal leaves. It was bliss.
How about you?

Impromptu roast in the pub at lunchtime after Remembrance Parade (DH is Parade Marshal and makes me very proud) followed by equally impromptu nap on the sofa.

I had a tennis lesson. An hour completely for me once a week. I even quite enjoy being bossed around by the coach (it's a beginner's class, I'm pretty crap) as I spend much of week bossing other people around as part of my job so nice to be told what to do.

applecatchers36 · 13/11/2022 19:18

Planted out some Tulip bulbs
Went to Notting hill shopping today (got something for myself as well as the kids)
Had some good wine and takeaway curry

IWasFunBeforeMum · 13/11/2022 19:20

Treated myself to a new £20 scarf (alot to me at the moment). I had an old gift card in my purse and thought was about £2 left on it. Lady swiped it and it paid for the scarf with £10 leftover! I was THAT person walking out of the shop swinging their carrier bag 😊

WinterLobelia · 13/11/2022 19:23

Nothing for me really. Took the Dcs out for breakfast. Bought a mini bottle of prosecco though form myself which I might go and locate.

Your post made me so happy for you! 😊

I painted, binged on an old crime drama (London Kills) and had a gin and elderflower tonic.

it was a lovely, restful day.

Taytocrisps · 13/11/2022 19:26

Did all my shopping, put it in the boot of the car and then popped into a cafe for coffee and a cake.

Bellablahhole · 13/11/2022 19:27

Nothing. Everything I've done, for a very long time, has been for the benefit of other people, and I'm sick of it. I'm going to take inspiration from some of the pp's and start to do things for me!

This is such a lovely thread. Very soothing for the Sunday night scaries.

I treated myself to my favourite shower gel (Lush Honey I Washed The Kids) and I drank many gallons of tea while tucked up under a fluffy blanket binge watching The Crown.

dixiebloom · 13/11/2022 19:30

Treated myself to a Holywood mirror... why I did nt get one before... (a bit of a splurge I guess)..

MeOldBamboo · 13/11/2022 19:30

Watched Willy Wonka with the kids and ate a bag of toffee popcorn to myself. The rest of the time I was running round after them. Was two hours of bliss with Gene Wilder.

Cleopatra67 · 13/11/2022 19:30

Went to Totnes with one of my loveliest friends. We do this every year. Have lunch and a proper catch up and then potter in all the lovely shops. Bought this year’s Christmas tree decorations- I buy one or two new ones every year. Also on the way home from work on Friday bought lovely mini bouquet for £6.95 which is v cheering.

Howappropriate · 13/11/2022 19:31

Ate delicious lemony roast chicken for dinner. Now sitting under a duvet watching TV and drinking herbal tea.

elastamum · 13/11/2022 19:31

DP and I stacked 150 bales of hay for my horses this afternoon, followed by a lovely roast dinner.

A glorious river swim. I wasn’t in for very long but there’s something about cold water that really relaxes and resets the body.

I wish I felt like that. My body just totally shuts down in really cold water and I'm unable to swim.

mizu · 13/11/2022 19:34

We had Ofsted in last week so yesterday and today I have done very little!

Have read in bed for hours, done some household chores, watched the latest episode of Andor, walked into town listening to Any Questions then Spotify and am now eating chocolate on the sofa. Going to watch Handmaid's Tale later. Work is going to feel like a breeze tomorrow Grin

Disclaimer - my DDs are late teens GrinGrin

Facecream · 13/11/2022 19:36

Pulled all the wallpaper off the hall walls (took 10 minutes, I was sooo happy). Also pulled up the carpet in the hall. Another 10 minutes.
I was very happy indeed that 20 minutes changed that horrid damp , dark spot.
That was yesterday. I’m about to crack open a bottle of red given to me for looking after my lovely friend’s lovely dog all weekend.
If DD ever goes to sleep that is (up from 4am but still going nuts!)

MadMadMadamMim · 13/11/2022 19:36

What a nice thread! Nothing, really. Did a load of housework/laundry/domestic tasks. And spent about 3 hours marking assessments.

I'm going to go have a bath and put a face mask on, thanks to this thread! I definitely need some 'Me' time.

froomeonthebroom · 13/11/2022 19:36

Watched lots and lots of rugby 😄

MistressofMuppets · 13/11/2022 19:38

Gone through the proofs of our wedding photos from last weekend.
Can't wait to get the proper high res images through and make up a photobook!

WormEater · 13/11/2022 19:41

Dropped the kids off at activity and went back to bed for 2 hours until it was time to pick them up 🤫.
Read a book.
Went out for an extra long walk with a podcast.
Now in the bath chilling.

caringcarer · 13/11/2022 19:42

Had to drive DS to cricket training about 1 hour from our home. It lasts 2 hours so can't go home before collecting. Today went to a nearby pub had a coffee and meal and read newspapers online. Usually.i.just sit in car for 2 hours. Today was definately an improvement.

NancyJoan · 13/11/2022 19:43

I went for a walk in the sun with a takeaway coffee today.

I bought myself a fig tree and planted it to train up the kitchen wall. I already have one, and this will make a pair.

The first one gives about 40 figs a year so hopefully this will double that. I love fresh figs with cream cheese and parma ham. 😋

Do yours go purple? Mine are still green!

WellTidy · 13/11/2022 19:48

I’ve just had a bath. DH brought me a Diet Coke whilst I was in there. Everything else has been for someone/everyone else (too much, really) so that was really enjoyable.
