The news is so depressing so I thought I’d start this thread: What have you done this weekend that made you feel happy, relaxed or just gave you much needed space. I went for a bike ride in the beautiful forest near to where I live and enjoyed the peace and quiet and beautiful autumnal leaves. It was bliss.
How about you?

Day out in London, walked miles then went to Liberty's Christmas shop to buy a couple of Christmas baubles.

IntrovertedPenguin · 13/11/2022 18:47

I skipped my medication for rum.
I suffered massively today, can't walk at all but to feel like a normal adult for a few hours was worth it.
Now back to my being a Granny before my time. Grin

I've felt a bit low and this weekend I've really enjoyed seeing nobody outside my home, buying some big gorgeously scented candles, bingeing The Crown and having a watermelon Gin cooler. The only thing that's penetrated my good feeling is the worry it's too boring.

Sounds like my ideal weekend! Hope you’re feeling better 💐

cempasuchil · 13/11/2022 18:49

I had my haircut and watched the crown while while dh took dcs out. I'm now trying to read my book but getting distracted by MN!

Cosycover · 13/11/2022 18:49

I'm opening some Baileys when my youngest goes to sleep.

That's about it 😂

windowwhy · 13/11/2022 18:49

My DH has just left to work away for the week and I've poured a glass of wine and cuddling to dogs on the sofa catching up on I'm a Celeb

ithoughtisawapuddycat · 13/11/2022 18:50

Watched a few episodes of The Crown and had a lovely nap.

Babyenroute · 13/11/2022 18:51

Had an early night last night while DH looked after our newborn. First four hour stretch of sleep in four weeks, and I even dreamt for the first time too, woke up a new woman!

That sounds like a lovely weekend! Not boring at all.

Cosycover · 13/11/2022 18:51

Oh I bought some new tree decorations I've been wanting since last year but couldn't justify the money. Still can't but YOLO.

Honeybirds87 · 13/11/2022 18:53

Put fresh bedding on today

33goingon64 · 13/11/2022 18:53

I stayed in bed for half an hour longer than I normally would and read a chapter of my book.

annonymousse · 13/11/2022 18:54

I had a lazy day. Napped in the afternoon and did some crochet. It's been lovely

ranoutofquinoaandprosecco · 13/11/2022 18:54

Watched Harry Potter and nearly finished a Christmas cross stitch!

JamSandle · 13/11/2022 18:55

Ordered my favourite healthy sachets and enjoyed two of them. They're an indulgence but they make me feel really good.

DelilahBucket · 13/11/2022 18:57

I didn't go to work today and went for a lovely run this morning. I could have gone to work, I'm self employed and I've got loads to do, but I figured that having just worked 15 days straight, I could do with a day off.

BobbyBobbyBobby · 13/11/2022 18:57

Lovely walk in the woods today.

Instead of getting out of bed this morning I lay and read with my daughter. Absolute bliss.

Roominmyhouse · 13/11/2022 18:59

Ate crumpets.
Had a lovely walk in the woods.
Opened a bottle (or two) of Prosecco 🥂

I went for a walk with the puppy by ourselves at dusk in the park today. There's a lake and all the lights were reflecting and the water was just rippling very slightly. The air was cool and everything was calm. The ducks were quacking quite lazily and there was just enough light we could see properly where we were going. The puppy was leaping about delightedly in the leaves and we had the whole park nearly to ourselves. It was so peaceful.

LuckyCharm9 · 13/11/2022 19:03

Friend came over yesterday so had a good catch up whilst the kids played. Painted the downstairs bathroom last night whilst DH was at work.
Today we went for a walk in the forest, picked up a roast from the local pub and then I watched the crown whilst DH & DS played minecraft.
Just had a shower and DH has the night off, so we are ordering desserts and watching the black phone.

Greaterthanthesumoftheparts · 13/11/2022 19:07

My DB turned 40 during the week and came to visit us for the weekend with his DW and our DM (we live in Switzerland). We had a nice half night out in zurich on Friday but decided we’d all rather go home and play Mexican train. Saturday was a walk and lunch in the mountains, a museum in the afternoon and cheese fondue for dinner. Today DH got up with the kids so I got an extra hour in bed. I love roast dinners when we have company so we had roast rib of beef before dropping everyone back at the airport. It was a bit of a whirlwind but nice to celebrate with DB. I’m now chilling in the sofa watching the Grand Prix with DH.

A bracing sea swim this morning - agree with pp that it really helps reset the brain. Plus I genuinely never tire of the impressed comments from the people walking past wrapped up in coats and scarves 😁
