What one nice thing have you done this weekend for YOU?

The news is so depressing so I thought I’d start this thread: What have you done this weekend that made you feel happy, relaxed or just gave you much needed space. I went for a bike ride in the beautiful forest near to where I live and enjoyed the peace and quiet and beautiful autumnal leaves. It was bliss.
How about you?

It's nice reading everyone's examples. Feel a bit tearful as my weekend was like all mine are, absolutely frantic. I was on the go from early till late - my kids do lots of sports, single mum. I did do some exercise myself, squeezed in very early in the morning but that's it.

Bone-tired now as I get ready for the week & try to muster the energy to deal with some urgent work stuff.

I spent a happy 10 minutes getting ingrown hairs out the back of my thigh 🙃

Potterbore · 13/11/2022 19:52

I went out for a walk by myself yesterday morning, it was lovely and mild. I stuck my AirPods in and listened to cheesy uplifting music - it was glorious and really lifted my mood.

coronafiona · 13/11/2022 19:53

MercuryRising · 13/11/2022 19:54

Went out for a run this morning. I struggle to prioritise my need to exercise but today I did and I felt fantastic after.

Cloverforever · 13/11/2022 19:55

I met up for a meal with a group of 7 friends I've known for 22 years now, which was lovely. And then lunch with my boyfriend today.. Lots of food and talking basically!

Rolandsausage · 13/11/2022 20:02

I'm honeymoon planning! That's technically for 'us' but my DH would be happy with a week in Benidorm, so really this is all for my benefit

Geppili · 13/11/2022 20:02

Bought some menopause shampoo 🤣

Bought some menopause shampoo 🤣

Now if it hastened it or stopped the fiery flushes I’d buy some of that myself @Geppili 😁 but I guess it’s just for hair, huh?

Gufo · 13/11/2022 20:06

Went to an exercise class, read my book in a sunny-for-November garden with the cat, spent an hour on Simply Piano.

No499 · 13/11/2022 20:08

Went to the gym and got my lashes done

moostermum · 13/11/2022 20:08

Whilst ironing school shirts today, I watched a lovely film on Netflix called Purple Heart.

CopOut27 · 13/11/2022 20:08

Had my hair cut and coloured. Never had any colour before and just fancied it on a whim! 3 hours of bliss drinking tea, chatting and read my book.

olympicsrock · 13/11/2022 20:12

I’ve been working but I did a few nice things . Had coffee with a junior colleague and enjoyed hearing all about her aspirations.
I did an hour of Duolingo - learning Spanish. - I really enjoy it !
I baked and decorated a big chocolate cake with DS2 aged 7 for DS .
Cosy evening with DH watching the crown.

ShowOfHands · 13/11/2022 20:12

I went swimming yesterday. Today, I sat on the (deserted) beach and watched the tide go out.

Mary46 · 13/11/2022 20:15

Soproudoflionesses · 13/11/2022 20:17

Stayed in bed til 10am and didn't get dressed until noon! Reliving my youth!!

Newlyclueless · 13/11/2022 20:21

I went to a local crafts fair with friends and had a walk with my daughter. I'm usually so anti-social but I really enjoyed this.

hattie43 · 13/11/2022 20:24

Took my dogs for a two hour ramble on the beach . No phones no interruptions.

Manzana · 13/11/2022 20:36

I volunteer at a canoe club helping with a junior group. I really like the children in the group and they were excited to go on the river at very low tide (thames), it is always fun to be with them in kayaks, they are such a happy group.

hilditchoriental · 13/11/2022 20:36

Sweet FA! I looked after two poorly kids all weekend while DH sulked that he had to stay in and help.

This week I'll attempt to go to the gym by myself at least twice.

Polkadotpjs · 13/11/2022 20:37

Actually wasn't a bad day. Took DS to footie, then home for lunch. Swept all the leaves up in garden, took dog for a walk, made fish pie but sacked it off for tomorrow and ordered Chinese instead. So we'll have it for tomorrow instead. Then just done yoga solely for myself and my tense muscles. Feel greatly cheered Big up to the PP filing for divorce. Go you!

PermanentTemporary · 13/11/2022 20:40

Went to a lovely wedding.

Had time with dp (at the wedding). We can't have sex at the moment due to his cancer treatment but there was a lot of very hot snogging.

Made broccoli soup and for once it was really nice.

HumourReplacementTherapy · 13/11/2022 20:42

I did a Christmas wreath making workshop yesterday and met some friends for a very long brunch today.
Now I'm eating green and blacks chocolate and drinking a huge timber of baileys 😋

I bought myself a fig tree and planted it to train up the kitchen wall. I already have one, and this will make a pair.

The first one gives about 40 figs a year so hopefully this will double that. I love fresh figs with cream cheese and parma ham. 😋

Ooh I've been thinking about getting one.... do you mean yours is inside?
