Do you wear knickers under pyjamas

And why?
spent the night away with some friends and noticed that they did. I understand if you wear knickers instead of pyjamas although I tend to go alfresco.
so unless you’re wearing a pad maybe, why would you?

Unless you have major health issues, @Badnewsoracle is misguided to think that regular wearing of a skirt without knickers is likely to cause secretions on the fabric. A skirt does not have a gusset.

I fairly frequently go knicker free with a skirt or a dress in the warmer weather without problem.

I'd worry that when I'm sat down discharge would leak on the skirt, rather than my knickers? If it doesn't, where does it go?

@StarlightLady discharge is perfectly normal and not the sign of a major health issue! I guess some women have less than others? Maybe that is a health issue as discharge is the sign of a healthy vagina cleaning itself.

MidnightMeltdown · 15/11/2022 11:41

Of course! Surely you have to wash your pyjamas after just one wear otherwise?

Feels too naughty not wearing knickers! 😂

BiscuitLover3678 · 15/11/2022 11:46

How tight up your crotch are you wearing your pjs??? Mine are loose so I don’t need to wash them as much as pants. Also I shower before bed.

yummymummy3441 · 15/11/2022 11:47

girly, dont, save yourself and your vaginal health. your partner will thank you

Do you not get fluids on your maxi skirt?

No, never. My vagina does not leak. Do others'?

BananaCocktails · 16/11/2022 01:25

Why would I wear pyjamas with no underwear? If I didn’t I’d be treating the pyjamas AS underwear and be putting them in wash
otherwise it’s like wearing same underwear twice in a row
ew

Good question. I never wear knickers, and always wear maxi skirts, and I have no discharge at all. But then I am not having unprotected sex with a man, maybe that is why? Maybe the free air circulating around my vagina keeps it dry?

I don't know, as it is a subject I have never discussed with any other woman IRL.

Cw112 · 16/11/2022 01:26

If I was staying with friends then I would for the purposes of getting changed without flashing them my bum. Normally I would wear pants but no pj bottoms unless it's really baltic or I'm sick.

Sleepyquest · 16/11/2022 01:56

I never used to. For years I hated it but now I do and think it's more hygienic

StarlightLady · 16/11/2022 07:00

This thread is digressing very much into “all women are dirty” mode almost to the extent of becoming what l would term as “vulva ashamed” which is sad. We should be proud of our bodies.

One layer of fabric should be sufficient to handle secretions, moistness etc. If we were completely dry we would squeak when we walk 😂.

But be it in bed, at the gym, out on a summer’s day or even at work (at times, I’ve gone knickerless on each occasion listed), there are far more important issues about women’s health than whether someone has knickers on.

Regular showers, grooming etc is important. But let’s not pretend that a normally functioning female body is anything nasty; it’s not!

Deathraystare · 16/11/2022 07:58

Yeah. Much needed incontinence pants and pads! Without them I would have a huge wash pile and would need to change my pyjamas every half an hour or so. Maybe more.

NurseBernard · 16/11/2022 08:03

Why have you started the thread, if you’re only going to get defensive over the replies?

I mean … are you really intrigued as to the answer to this..?

Do you really not have the wit / wherewithal / imagination to get your head around the beyond mundane idea that some women might wear underwear (I don’t think I’ve every actually said the ‘k’ word) under their pyjamas?

StarlightLady · 16/11/2022 11:43

"Said the K word" - since when has knickers become a word which must not be spoken??? If you go into M&S you will find a sign saying "Knickers". That is what they are commonly called. Others may have different names for them, but please, let's not pretend the word knickers is unspeakable.

Yes. Discharge leaks. Normal healthy vaginas secrete mucus. This mucus is present whether or not you have sex (with anyone, protected or otherwise). The mucus responds to hormonal changes throughout your menstrual cycle aiding and indicating fertility. Post menopause, women have less mucus.

I would bet that if you're sat fine most of the day mid cycle and you inspected your skirt closely you'd see a 'snail trail' of dried mucus.

Sorry, no. It’s up there with ‘panties’ for me. 😬

Crazykatie · 16/11/2022 19:38

Well I don’t leak, unless I get aroused, past the menopause, however many women have poorer health so I count myself lucky

Why can't people where pj's more than once? They are baggy and how much discharge do people have? Women are always told how dirty we are. My pj pants don't even touxh me and my vagina isn"t spraying dirty juices everywhere.

I totally agree with you.

NoNamesLeft234678 · 17/11/2022 16:49

Yeah because I don't change my pjs everyday and would have to without underwear.. pretty sure I didn't went underwear as a kid though. My boyfriend doesn't like wearing underwear with his though 🙈🤷‍♀️

Couldn't agree more. Never ceases to be bemuse me how many on here (many/most of whom have had children) seem terrified of bodily secretions and to view them as unclean.

Why would poor health = leaking. Unless you have an STI?

BiscuitLover3678 · 17/11/2022 21:30

This thread is hilarious. All these vaginas leaking everywhere and covering our pyjama bottoms and our skirts. If there is a tiny bit of discharge is it really so bad?

KylieCharlene · 17/11/2022 21:43

I wear PJs without knickers.
If I was 'in company' I'd probably keep my knickers on even though I find them uncomfortable under jama bottoms.
At home I often wear my PJs 2-3 days without washing them.
I wash regularly and have never noticed an unpleasant smell.

Goodread1 · 23/02/2023 11:37

Yes for personal hygiene reasons
As feel weird without them
Even brasserie too
