Do you wear knickers under pyjamas

And why?
spent the night away with some friends and noticed that they did. I understand if you wear knickers instead of pyjamas although I tend to go alfresco.
so unless you’re wearing a pad maybe, why would you?

There is far too many seams and layers going to bed in pj's and pants

Theres no need to wash pj bottoms every day with no pants. There's no gravity sending vaginal fluid downwards and you'll unlikely be sweating - you could definitely wear them more than a night or two.

Normally, I'll just wear pants and a t shirt.

ghostsandpumpkinsalready · 13/11/2022 19:12

I wear a pair of boxers under my pjs and take the pjs off when I get into bed.so much more comfortable that knickers 🤷‍♀️

crumbsneverdid · 13/11/2022 19:12

Have never been able to wear trousers to bed. Always a top and knickers for me.

BlueG4 · 13/11/2022 19:14

Yes, because the PJ seams end up riding up and hurting if I don't. Need the gusset of knickers. But usually I just wear knickers and a t-shirt to sleep and put PJ bottoms on if I'm lounging around.

LemonSwan · 13/11/2022 19:16

I do when wearing PJs but then I don’t wear pjs in bed 🤣

If I did wear PJs in bed then probably. You must let the foof breathe at night!

LemonSwan · 13/11/2022 19:17

Probably NOT 🤣

I've always been the same I get too warm.

Top and knickers is my choice.

I don't like PJs (worked out quite well as husband said he knows if I ever don't want sex because I will be wearing PJs in bed).

I know what people mean about the seams too.

LovelyBitOfSquirrel69 · 13/11/2022 19:19

Yes. Because it's rank not to, unless you want to wash your PJs every day.

MadMadMadamMim · 13/11/2022 19:19

I do now. I didn't when younger, but nowadays if I have a coughing fit I tend to pee myself, and that's really unpleasant when lying in bed. Pants allow me to wear Tenalady...

lmnabc · 13/11/2022 19:27

@ohyouknowwhatshername

If you have a discharge that dribbles on to the sheets then you certainly need to see a doctor.

MammaWeasel · 13/11/2022 19:28

Yes, as loungewear. I take both off at night and sleep naked below the waist unless I'm sharing a room with a friend, in which case I'll put clean knickers on for bed. And clean again in the morning.

Spacejamming · 13/11/2022 19:43

Always. I don’t know why, I always have done since I was a child. I find it comfortable!

Ninananna · 13/11/2022 19:49

No knickers under pj's but thinking I might try and then wear pj's a couple of times instead of washing them every wear.

Tiggy321 · 13/11/2022 19:54

I wear pyjamas with no knickers! Shock horror. I like the freedom of no knickers! Only wear pjs for a couple of days before washing but literally put them on at bed time and take them off early morning. So not sure how dirty they can get ! I consider myself a clean person, change bed linen every week etc. Each to their own!

LesOliviers · 13/11/2022 19:55

Yes I do. It feels really weird to wear pyjamas without knickers. Also I wear my pyjamas for 2-3 nights so I wouldn't want a dirty gusset area!

Cosycover · 13/11/2022 19:57

Only when I'm on my period

OK. Good to know.

MushroomQueen · 14/11/2022 00:29

I did wear knickers as a kid, when I was pregnant with my oldest a nurse encouraged no knickers at night, to help prevent thrush. Which has helped me in the long run

Chloefairydust · 14/11/2022 02:53

I don’t wear knickers under pyjamas, got to let the foof get some air at night lol

I don’t think it would be comfortable to wear thongs in bed under my pjs 🤔

theMedicinalPorpoise · 14/11/2022 03:17

No, only when I'm on my period and then I look forward to the first night of bum freedom once it's finished. I also don't change my pyjamas every day, nor have I ever suffered from thrush. I don't know if those facts are related.

I don't like sleeping nude though, bits of me stick to other bits of me which I find uncomfortable and annoying.

Haribosweets · 14/11/2022 03:59

I do! Never used too but since I've got older and prone to leaks every so often.. I'll say no more!

KitchenSupper · 14/11/2022 04:09

The generation with the idea that air could circulate just fine through bedding plus pyjamas but not through bedding, pyjamas plus underwear were also a generation that got a clean pair of underwear each weekly bath night only. Why are we taking one part of their habits as exemplary if not the other? Probably they wanted to give the underwear a bit of a rest at nighttime.

StarlightLady · 14/11/2022 04:24

I don’t own any PJs nor would l want to. Most nights, except during a period, I’ve slept naked since l was about 14/15. I’m in my 40s now, I change the bedding once a week and never had a problem with discharges and secretions drowning me because of lack of a gusset!!!

ln the hot weather, l often don’t wear knickers under long summer dresses either!

Obviously l’m a practical girl, although someone will tell me I’m grim and my secretions will kill others.

Forever42 · 14/11/2022 04:27

No. Knickers are much tighter than pyjamas which hang much further down. I don't like the tight feeling when I am wearing knickers in bed. I wear just pj's and change no more frequently than every 5 days or so. Have yet to succumb to any grisly vaginal diseases!

SkinnyFatte · 14/11/2022 05:01

My nighties go to my ankles. No danger of beaver spotting.
