Where to buy a new husband?

So Currys have this thing where you can buy a new appliance and they recycle the old one for you for free. Is there a store that does that with husbands? Preferably with free delivery.

Will there be ones on the shop floor fitted with an alarm so you can’t steal them but you can try them out in the store?

They’d have to do a lot of market research to get the model upgrades right.
I’d be worried that they’d send a replacement model that they were overstocked on, like “Doesn’t eat vegetables”.
The top of the range models would be out the door in a flash.

Same place I guess where you can trade your wife in for a new one lol 😁

BlueKaftan · 11/11/2022 03:55

I’ve got one snoring next to me. Gently used. Handy around the house. Does his chores before disappearing to watch the rugby. Happy to discuss T&Cs.

It’s important to read the small print on the guarantee. In addition, they can be messy, leave the loo seat up and not be fully trained in “the knowledge” when it comes to female anatomy. 😂

HelloBunny · 11/11/2022 05:53

I don’t even want a new one.
Just to offload the old one!

I've got an older model but he is still working well so I think I will keep him. I'm not sure the newer models are all they are made out to be. Don't be swayed by the slick advertising.

ABrotherWhoLooksLikeHellMugYou · 11/11/2022 06:48

I got an upgrade three years ago and couldn't be happier. The new model even has regular software patches applied so I discover new functionality - and is fully autonomous. 10 out of 10, would highly recommend.

MushMonster · 11/11/2022 06:49

😁😁😁
Which kind of model are you interested in?
Can you try them for 60 days and then decide if you want to keep it?

RoachTheHorse · 11/11/2022 06:54

I have had mine for 15 years, including the trial period, and no faults have appeared yet. I suspect his warranty has expired but until he starts to break down I will keep with this one I think.

He's the Miele of husbands and has been as expensive!

I have a similar model. Been very reliable with no replacement parts needed so I think I’ll hold off any trade in just yet.

AllHailtheSlushy · 11/11/2022 06:55

But does the husband connect to the WiFi like my new washing machine does?

Locsup183 · 11/11/2022 06:56

😂😂😂

Bathtubbathing · 11/11/2022 06:56

I'm concerned that some people will overbuy and make shops sell out to make a profit on eBay.

BitOutOfPractice · 11/11/2022 06:58

If off to panic buy a couple of husbands so I have a spare in case of power outages. I’m winning at prepping.

spiderontheceiling · 11/11/2022 07:00

How long is the extended warranty, how much does it cost and what are the exemptions?

Newwardrobe · 11/11/2022 07:03

Hmm parts for new models can be expensive, make sure it's happy to need M&S and not Hugo Boss .

Turmerictolly · 11/11/2022 07:07

There might be a Black Friday deal on with extra skills packages - look out for the chef and DIY models.

Only if you keep the protective hygiene cover on

WhiteFire · 11/11/2022 07:20

Alas they don't make things like they used to. Expect it to develop faults soon after the warranty period ends.

CaronPoivre · 11/11/2022 07:26

Have you looked on Amazon? I think you might have better luck at either a local garden centre or farm shop.

ByeByeMissAmericanPie · 11/11/2022 07:32

Isn’t Black Friday for when they shift the older models that are hanging around in the back of the warehouse?

They need a clear out before the new Christmas models come in, surely?

BlackeyedGruesome · 11/11/2022 07:40

Not got rid of the old one yet....sent him back but still waiting for the refund.

SunshineBoy · 11/11/2022 07:50

Just be careful if you sell it on with giving the new owner your phone number. It’s really annoying when they constantly contact you to arrange a return or to troubleshoot a problem. I keep telling them it was sold as seen!!! They did a test drive, they knew what they were getting!
