Where to buy a new husband?

So Currys have this thing where you can buy a new appliance and they recycle the old one for you for free. Is there a store that does that with husbands? Preferably with free delivery.

Does anyone know how to reconfigure language settings?
Mine is using Pure Glaswegian v.2 (I think that this was common in the 1960s model. ). I am looking for either King's English 2022 or Bristolian 2007. I use Bristolian 2007 myself but the 2 languages aren't syncing properly.

Yes.

You need to reset to factory settings.

There's a button you have to press and hold for 5 seconds but you'll need to wear a rubber glove.

Is there anywhere that will take him away for free?

Carriemac · 11/11/2022 14:12

mine is still working well, if a little slower than when first purchased but the 'where's my ..' app needs to be removed but seems to be un deleteable

orbitalcrisis · 11/11/2022 14:13

This is totally standard the recycle the old model for free. If there's a little life left in them a part exchange can usually be organised.

I can't believe so few of you have ANY experience of the modern slave trade! The ignorance displayed here is astounding!

You need to pay your council for a special yellow bin - it's about £30 a year and they come twice a month and empty it for you. Really handy if you do regular upgrades.

Notjusta · 11/11/2022 14:30

For those with defective models - you can take them to some kind of 'Genius bar' for analysis but I found it was just a softly spoken woman with a massive head tilt leaving long silences when I explained the problem and then asking my model how he felt about it.Hmm

JennyForeigner · 11/11/2022 14:38

I was in the market but waited too long and found the best models had sold out. Wondered if I should have waited for returns, but the one I picked just about works.

People need to take some financial responsibility here. We have a financial crisis and are facing the longest recession in UK history. Spending money on completely unnecessary items like husbands is really foolish and irresponsible in the current climate.

May I recommend an air fryer instead?

Can I trade my husband in for an air fryer instead then or will I have to pay excess for that upgrade (willing to do so if that's the case!)

Amoreena · 11/11/2022 14:56

😄

Notanotherwindow · 11/11/2022 16:31

only if you keep the protective hygiene cover on

Maybe that part could be detachable? Like expandable memory. With different designs so you don't wear it out get bored.

BittenontheBum · 11/11/2022 17:03

Yep BOGOF sums up how I feel about relationships 🤣🤣

ShiningStarQueen · 11/11/2022 17:30

Mine’s not for sale…looks around suspiciously 🤔

lurchermummy · 11/11/2022 18:03

Had mine for nearly 30 years but I like vintage stuff so I'll hang onto him

Ratched · 11/11/2022 18:06

I'll happily trade mine in for a bar of Galaxy.

Actually, I'd pay to have him traded in 😉

soupey1 · 11/11/2022 18:17

Oh I’ve had mine for over thirty years and yes it’s a bit slower and occasionally grumpy but still does the job brilliantly. I have seriously deteriorated but it doesn’t mind and treats me brilliantly. There is no way I’m trading it in and would fight anyone to keep it!

As we are now in the era of recycling and reuse, is the Patio Option a complete no-no?

picklemewalnuts · 11/11/2022 20:36

To be fair, the patio option has always been a bit of a last resort. Useful in an emergency, when the other options have been exhausted and of course only when you can approve you were elsewhere.

MrsMoastyToasty · 11/11/2022 20:57

If you are using the patio option I recommend watching the information film Brookside.

BIWI · 11/11/2022 21:12

I think you'll find @Toomanysleepycats, that you and I were at the spa on that day. All day.

And me. I was with you both, all day.

(How ever hours that was.)

Remainiac · 11/11/2022 21:29

Couldn’t get on with my first one at all so treated myself to an upgrade to sports model in 1990. Still going strong despite a couple of major technical malfunctions caused by inadvertent crashes. Had a long stay in the repair shop a few years ago and a complete overhaul, which worked pretty well.
Discovered an unexpected bonus feature recently when DGC arrived - turns out that sports model still functions superbly in relation to all things related to care of small humans and animals.
On the downside, it is incapable of performing any internet related tasks without close supervision.
