I only have a small amount in there but I eagerly await the draw each month but it never happens!

This month DS won £100, DH won £25 and I won £300. Both DH and I have the maximum and we both win something most months, it's only a couple of months per year we don't win anything. The amounts vary, I remember I've had a £500 but mostly it's been like £75-100. DS doesn't win as often but he does have less. As he has less than maximum his winnings are reinvested into more PB.

My mum and her partner also have maximum holdings and also win something practically every month, so posters who don't seem to be particularly unlucky to me...

Flavabobble · 06/11/2024 14:37

I've got quite a bit in there and win something most months. Over the last 6 months it's averaged a 4.2% return.

RissiOne · 06/11/2024 14:40

DH wins pretty much every month, usually a couple of hundred quid. I won for the first this month... I have bonds going back to the 80s! (all be it for a very small amount)

We used to win a bit when we had a full holding but when interest rates improved we could earn more in an account than PBs but obviously without the chance of a big win. We left a grand in and not won anything on that.
My friend is very lucky and wins almost every month and not just £25 either

skyeisthelimit · 06/11/2024 14:41

This year so far, I have won 7/11 months. Last year I won 11/12 months. My holding varies, as I use it to save for tax bills and various other annual expenses.

LauraFaye88 · 06/11/2024 15:01

Fawn. How can your Fil have 2 maximum holdings? I thought you could only have one?

Hotafternoon · 06/11/2024 15:11

Since January, I've won £1400 on just a bit short of full holdings. I'm pretty pleased with that.

Last year I won £650 in one month on £3500. I was thrilled at the time it's the most I'd ever won on a small holding.

Wimbledonmum1985 · 06/11/2024 15:22

I’ve won a total of £1,150 in three years. I have 13k holdings.

helpfulperson · 06/11/2024 15:29

I have a holding of £250. Last month I won £100.

MonkeyTennis34 · 06/11/2024 15:34

We win something most months but have a fair amount in there.
The most we've won is £750.

For us, the return has been greater than any savings account.

Printedword · 06/11/2024 15:41

Way back in the early 00s my auntie used often to say she had won something. My mum would reply that she and my dad never did. After my parents passed away I could not find the documents for any bonds they had. So I got a check done. They had the grand sum of £32, no wonder they never won

JawsCushion · 06/11/2024 15:48

I have won every month this year except for once or twice.

EffinMagicFairy · 06/11/2024 15:49

I’ve won £25 once in all my 30 years of having some bonds. PIL regularly win anything from £50 -£250 per month, they have max invested.

MissHalloween · 06/11/2024 16:26

So it sounds as if most people are winning quite a bit less than they would get in interest on a high interest account even accounting for paying tax on the interest.

Spidey66 · 06/11/2024 17:30

I've got a small amount I was bought as a baby. I think about £10 worth (I'm old ok!)

A few years ago I won £25. Earlier this year I won £100.

NerrSnerr · 06/11/2024 17:36

I have £2225 of bonds and won £100 this year. I usually win between £50 and £100 per year so it's slowily increasing (we try to add the odd £50 ourselves here and there too)

Katherineryan1986 · 06/11/2024 18:01

I've had the max amount for about 18 months now. I usually get between £25-£175 each month. However, I once got £3k and then after that I had 3 months with nothing at all.
It's a lottery after all.

Frith2013 · 06/11/2024 18:04

£25 this month off £100 holding.

Do88byisfree · 06/11/2024 18:43

MiL won £25k 20 years ago and has small wins regularly (but she also has max investment I believe)

Wessiewoowoo · 07/11/2024 06:25

I had £100 last month £45k holding and this month £225 with the same holding . Be interesting to see what happens next month as I put in more last month .

This was only my second month having a holding so I'm pleased
