Popped along to a shop that sells stuff going out of date this morning so I just make up what I’m doing on the day.

I am making chicken and vegetable fried rice.

Made crispy belly pork chunks with red onion and crispy leeks in garlic gravy yesterday with baked then air fried potatoes, called smashed potatoes with steamed carrots, beans and spinach.

Firesideassembly · 07/11/2022 16:11

M Asian inspired chicken broth with udon noodles, chillis, sugar snap peas, spring onions, and cold chicken from yesterday’s roast.

T chick pea casserole

W sausage & mash with leeks and peas

T field mushrooms, garlic, parsley on toast (with optional scrambled egg)

F smoked mackerel, salad of lettuce, red onions, tomato and cucumber salad, new pots

S cheese and potato pie

S roast pork with trimmings including home made apple compote

Me, DH, DD (10) and DS (8).

Mon: fish and Greek potatoes
Tues: pasta/prawn Thai curry
Wed: salmon and potatoes
Thursday: chicken curry
Friday: freezer forage
Saturday: take away
Sunday: chicken in pancetta

Tuesday's pasta is for the DC - they like a Thai curry but not with prawns. The freezer forage will probably be something like Kiev and chips for DH and the DC, and an omlette for me.

We home educate our children, and as part of that learn about a new country every week. I cook a meal from that country as a way to make it more interesting.

grapehyacinthisactuallyblue · 07/11/2022 19:05

I never plan any meal, ask my dc on the day what he wants.
We've had crispy spring rolls yesterday, today we are having Nikujaga with butternut squash instead of potato.
I can cook chicken/prawns/beef/pork/ veg dinner tomorrow, but don't know until I ask my dc tomorrow.

Icantfindanewname · 07/11/2022 19:17

Sat - chicken kebabs (thighs marinaded in lemon and rosemary - Eat Well for Less recipe), wedges, salad, wraps

Sun - roast Gammon, roast potatoes, Yorkshires (yes, I know, but I am born and bred Yorkshire and would get skinned alive for a roast without them) cauliflower cheese, sprouts and sugar snaps

Mon - chicken fried rice (both working and exercise class shortly) www.averiecooks.com/easy-better-takeout-chicken-fried-rice/

Tues - burgers and wedges/fries, depending on whether I can be bothered after work, and salad bits

Wed - sticky Chinese chicken thighs, yet more wedges/fries/chips and salad www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/sticky-chinese-chicken-traybake

Thurs & Fri, not a blumming clue! Perhaps some pasta... All seems a little dull reading this thread, maybe I need to up my game! 🤔🤣
