Apologies that the prior thread filled up before I could create this one. Hopefully everyone will find it. Lurkers are of course welcome to unlurk.

Hospital phoned and moved my days to Friday - completely destroying DH's meal planning. His job is food shopping and most cooking, I do the cleaning, computers and plants.

I can hear DD swear and mutter. She is trying to draw a hand holding a sewing needle and I think it does not work. 😀

Lemonsandlemonade · 07/02/2023 18:24

Prok lovely view and distribution of chores at your house.

DM is ok most likely bowel cancer.

MissConductUS · 07/02/2023 20:52

Prok, I hope you're back from the hospital and your treatment went well.

Lemons, have they done an endoscopic exam on your DM yet?

Iwandered, I am blessed to live in an area of great natural beauty with abundant wildlife.

I am wading through the mountain of HR paperwork to start recruiting for my colleague who is leaving. It's a bit much to fill an existing job.

I think the Lacrosse players have started practicing for the spring season. I was three more Lacross balls on the ice, including a rare yellow one. There must be hundreds of them at the bottom of the reservoir.

Lemon I am so sorry. All the best for your DM.

Lemonsandlemonade · 07/02/2023 21:03

MissC -4/6 week wait ( should be 2) but doctor said high probability based on blood/stool results. DM asked about private but about same wait apparently .

Is lacrosse big in your part of the world?

life is unfair at times.

MissConductUS · 07/02/2023 21:13

Lemons, I'm so sorry to hear about your DM's diagnosis. At lot will depend on how far it's progressed. I get a colonoscopy annually to check how my ulcerative colitis is doing, but one side benefit is that it's also a cancer check.

Lacrosse is pretty big here. Not as big as American football or basketball, but it's popular with high schools and colleges because it's not expensive to do and there's a very low risk of injury since it's not a contact sport. I think the sport evolved from a game American Indians played.

Am on a coach back to school following a day out with a group of children. Still 40 minutes to go on the motorway and none of them asleep yet. Am shattered, but need to see them all safely to parents and then drive myself 25 minutes home yet…

IWanderedLonely · 08/02/2023 06:51

Helena I hope they give you the morning off - that's a very late night!
Lemons Flowers sending you live and prayers.
Prok hope Friday goes OK

I'm awake early for once, not sure why. Going to get up in a minute, got to decorate a birthday cake for my eldest daughter. How did 33 years go by in the blink of an eyeShock?

MissConductUS · 09/02/2023 19:19

Good luck tomorrow, Prok.

I saw two duck couples on the reservoir today. It's very early for them to have migrated back to the area, which makes me wonder if they never left.

My departing colleague's last day is tomorrow, so we had cake with her today. DS's birthday is this weekend, so I'll be having cake again soon.

Happy Birthday to your DS MissC

Happy Birthday to your DD Iwandered

Hope chemo goes as well as it can Prok Cat is lovely.

So sorry about your Mum Lemons

Half Hope you get some solutions from gynae.

Congrats to your DD Math

Floof was trying to get tuna from DH at 1am. DH said no so Floof came and started to pester me with massive eyes and claws. DH then gave in and got Floof a 1.30am tuna, 7.30am I am awoken with claws next to me and big eyes for a second night tuna. Argh. DH gets him another one. Then I think I'll catch up on sleep and Floof comes with me and starts snoring. 😂He's been very cuddly and chatty inbetween but am a little nervous for the night as he's slept in the day. He's a very good distraction though. He also is sometimes eating his fluff so have to be careful to remove it from headboard or he eats it. He is an eating machine.

Had the Maudsley first assessment for DS today which was fine and got impression she thinks he'd be better back home. Community team psych is pressuring hopsital psych to start anti-psychotics but she is saying no. Community psych is like from the Russian mafia. I hope we are not getting him. Education guy suggested they could drive DS to our home one day which sounded good idea but would be in couple of weeks or so. They seem to be planning to keep him for ages still. He has started eating again this week at least but they put him in segregation for being distressed back in normal room now but nothing to do. We are going down tomorrow and will stay overnight at Holiday Inn and go swimming then maybe onto a gardens.

Am feeling tired and breathless a lot and congested nose / eye pain not sure why though Floof is distributing hay everywhere which I'm allergic to. I have hoovered some of it but Floof redistributes fast from rabbit.

Have a homemade French onion soup with toasted cheesy bread. Having strawberry cider and hot chocolate with marshmallows.

Been invited to a university dinner and looked at guest list and a lady who won a gold at Olympics is coming who was in year above. And someone I knew with what looks like not his wife.

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 09/02/2023 20:30

I love lakes and water. And this is a lovely foto!

Wel, hospital phoned today, telling me to wait until they called me tomorrow morning before I make an unneccessary way. The had 2 emergencies coming in and need to find me a bed.

Mr. Morose and mates decided to demand 2 feeds per day. In the afternoon they assembled on my terasse and looked at me menacingly. I caved ...

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 10/02/2023 17:02

My Dsis sent me this foto. I would love to go back home, just for this.

What a lovely picture Prok. Hope you’re doing ok.

Silkie sending continued strength. Hope your eyes etc improve,

Happy Birthday to your DD Wondered. Hope the cake went well.

HelenaJustina · 11/02/2023 07:39

I’m feeling rough, not COVID, just a rotten cold. Luckily DH isn’t working today and will do the 8am swim lift. I may not go for a run today…

IWanderedLonely · 11/02/2023 10:26

Beautiful picture Prok
I made a chocolate Swiss roll with fresh cream filling. Sent the uneaten bit home with DD, much to DH's disappointment Wink

HildaTablet · 11/02/2023 12:34

Sorry you’re feeling awful, Helena. I think my DH has the same thing. He did a lateral flow which was negative so hopefully it's 'just' a cold that makes you feel horrendous.

I've got so much I ought to do this weekend, but I’m determined to cast off the alpaca throw I’ve been knitting for the past two three possibly four years. It’s finally done but the thing stopping me is that there are something like 1,000 stitches to tackle (yes, it’s absolutely massive).

sueelleker · 11/02/2023 14:37

Just got back from the vets after my spaniel's 6 monthly health check. Everything fine, except he's put on a kilo since last time. Sorry Clover, it's reduced rations for a while.😕

Always4Brenner · 11/02/2023 15:17

Hello everyone lazy day today but 28 days time I’ll be watching To Kill A Mockingbird ordering t shirt next week the cake for our centre where I live black icing red writing same as the posters. So yes bouncing off the walls these next few months are to be treasured. Photo book photo’s being put together.

MissConductUS · 11/02/2023 16:57

Silkie, I have trained DgirCat to wake up DH in the morning for breakfast. The congestion and eye pain suggest a maxillary sinus infection.

Sue, how old is your dog? Our cats got annual checkups until age 10, then went to every six months.

Today is DS's birthday so he's selected a restaurant he wants to visit for dinner. It's a bit of a drive, but that's fine. I have to pick up his cake from the posh bakery later.

I was really lucky to get this picture of one of the duck couples yesterday. I just happened to look down while walking around the reservoir and there they were. They didn't even fly off, so perhaps the ducks recognize me now.

My husband has been insisting for ages that a debit card he ordered never arrived. I knew it had arrived because I opened it. He ordered another one.

I just found the first one at the bottom of the tray we keep post in. Exactly where I had told him to look.

I need to get something planned although i kinda hate day out…..

sueelleker · 11/02/2023 19:33

MissConductUS He's 11. He and his mum are on my vet's Healthy Pets scheme. It's not insurance, but covers annual vaccinations, free flea and worming treatments, and 6 monthly health checks. If they need any other treatments I get 10% discount too.

Just got back from the vets after my spaniel's 6 monthly health check. Everything fine, except he's put on a kilo since last time. Sorry Clover, it's reduced rations for a while.😕

I had this with my dog, who put on 1 and a 1/2 kilos while his diet had remained the same and exercise went up. The vet said getting older does it - he's only 4 and a 1/2!!
I made very small adjustments to daily meals and cut all treats in half. I found he noticed smaller meals but not smaller treats. All treats are time specific and not rewards.

It worked in quite short order and he's now slim.
