What the hell is this?

I constantly have scratch marks on my upper back/ neck. They’re deep enough that they last a few days at a time and you can see and feel them.

But, the thing is, I definitely don’t scratch my neck during waking hours or remember ever being itchy there. Why would I be scratching to the point of breaking the skin ONLY in my sleep and also not remembering it? It’s a mystery….any suggestions?

Bison?

How the hell would the op not notice a Bison in her bed?

Wouldn't she hear it snoring??

No bed bugs, no necklace, no Bison

Label in your clothes?

FoxyLadyBOOtique · 03/11/2022 19:06

Try washing your hands in a buffalo.

heidbuttsupper · 03/11/2022 19:08

Disappointed its not a bison

FurryDandelionSeekingMissile · 03/11/2022 19:09

Do you have a feather pillow? Sometimes when the pillows get old, the feather shafts poke through and scratch you.

JaneJeffer · 03/11/2022 19:09

Wear a polo neck to bed

notmyrealmoniker · 03/11/2022 19:10

Enthusiastic husband?

Scratchnoitch · 03/11/2022 19:10

I sleep in just pants, no label

Bison theory is a dead end. There’s no tell-tale fur remnants that would occur with a night bison

No husband. Don’t think I have feather pillows. Will double check

Mmm if it's not Bison, then I would suggest alien abduction. I'm pretty certain there was a thread about this not so long ago. About Bison in bed causing nocturnal scratches, not about alien abductions.

Cotton gloves?

Do you have a cat? Mine likes to knaw on my hair

Saucery · 03/11/2022 19:14

Poltergeist?

OldTinHat · 03/11/2022 19:15

If it's not a bison, could it be a giant squid?! 😆

CherryRipe1 · 03/11/2022 19:15

Any pics of your scratches?

RoseBucket · 03/11/2022 19:17

Also going to say Poltergeist, that is their calling card.

Scratchnoitch · 03/11/2022 19:20

@CherryRipe1 strangely enough it’s not something I take photos of….and why do you want to see photos of scratches?!

I’d hope a poltergeist would do something better than lightly scratch my neck when I’m asleep. Something more exciting perhaps.

no squid as no wet patches.

It might graduate to flinging books off shelves and growling in your ear, give it time.

JanglyBeads · 03/11/2022 19:27

Well it's just that if you're asking for help identifying the origin of the scratches, a photo might be helpful OP.

Cute bison.

OrangePomander · 03/11/2022 19:34

Koala? They have impressive claws and like hugging things.

Gazelda · 03/11/2022 19:35

I don't think a bison would leave scratch marks. They have hooves, don't they? Surely that would leave a bruise rather than a scratch?
