We're currently at the most incredible hotel after years and years of staying at absolute shit holes. I think this is the best hotel we've ever stayed in. It's a special occasion and we've saved hard for this. We're at the brew dog hotel in Edinburgh and it's amazing. I feel so close to Dh after this weekend, it's been such a hard time for us lately!

It has a bed on a mezzanine level, 5L keg of beer in the room, beer fridge in the shower (lol) included a beer school event on friday, breakfast today that was served until 3pm in our room!!!, dinner tonight and breakfast tomorrow and Monday when we leave. The room has an oven, little kitchen etc. residents only area with 24 hr pick and mix, hotdogs on demand and 24 coffee.

It's insane. Yes it's very ott but 2 months ago our dd died in Scbu, it's been 3 months of utter hell and this was a treat.

What's your fave hotel stay ever?

The Burlington in Birmingham is the best hotel I have ever stayed in, I went with exh for the Christmas markets & Good Food Show & then we went the following year for Valentines weekend & went to the Jewellery Quarter to buy our Wedding rings.

The Shangri-la at the Shard in London is a fantastic hotel stay. I had a milestone birthday there, courtesy of DH.

Lilianfels in the Blue Mountains near Sydney. Truly exceptional and the restaurant served the best meal I’ve ever had as well. Not just the room, the facilities and the location but also the staff were just wonderful. It’s changed hands and sadly I’ve heard it’s not as good now.

So sorry for your loss. Flowers we stayed at a lovely hotel at lake Garda in Italy. Amazing.

DoubleBuggyDriver · 30/10/2022 04:14

Blakemore Hotel in Hyde Park. Absolutely amazing!

Mas de Torrent - in the countryside not far from Barcelona. Pure luxury

ivykaty44 · 30/10/2022 04:57

I’m sorry for your loss

marriot riverside Bangkok was amazing, it was a beautiful hotel that had little touches. They took you to i to our room, turned down the beds at night, massaged your feet when you were relaxing by pool, free crèche.

enjoy your time at the hotel & you’re closeness to your dh

Shangri-la Al Husn near Muscat, Oman - heavenly.

Hopefully soon to add Mercure Kooddoo Island, Maldives to this list.

I’m so sorry for your loss. I’m glad you have been able to have this happier time with your husband.

Four Seasons in Sydney, overlooking the Harbour, beautiful location/views, amazing service & staff. The best five star hotel I’ve stayed in by a mile.

MinnieMountain · 30/10/2022 06:00

Wooley Grange. Admittedly I haven’t stayed in many hotels, but the staff were lovely when I was sitting alone (I was 2 weeks post cancer op so not allowed in the pool) and there was lots for our 4yo to do. They had a listening service over dinner time.

The Daffodil Hotel in the lakes was amazing, and the Sheraton Dubrovnik Riviera was wonderful. We were lucky with that one as it was their first season so we got a brilliant price! I bet it's better now!

WooWooWinnie · 30/10/2022 06:08

Stock Exchange in Manchester or The Cranleigh in Bowness (Lakes).

Zampa · 30/10/2022 06:13

I'm so sorry for your loss OP. Enjoy your trip.

The Taj in Mumbai gets my vote. 2 nights there was as much as a week in Goa but worth it. We were upgraded so had a beautiful view and access to the residents lounge with free Champagne! (Also, access to the hotel nurse was invaluable when I impaled by hand on a railing at Victoria station).

Staying at L'Enclume next year for a milestone birthday. Have high hopes!

Milbrook Queenstown New Zealand - absolutely stunning!

Amberley Castle in Sussex.

So sorry about your little one.
The Perodit spa hotel in Hanoi, closely followed by Little River Spa hotel in Hoi An.
The staff made both of those experiences amazing.

Dogsgottabone · 30/10/2022 06:23

I theory the cipriani in Venice, but it was our honeymoon so we didn't see much of it... We watched TV in bed instead!

My favourite hotel is The Marker in Dublin, the rooms are lovely and the spa pool is heaven.

Quite liked the Betsey in Miami too. Great freebies in the bathroom and a view of the sunrise over the Atlantic.

Dogsgottabone · 30/10/2022 06:24

Also OP I am so sorry for your loss xx

SundayAtDevilDirt · 30/10/2022 06:28

Cinnamon Lodge in Sri Lanka. The rooms were beautifully furnished individual lodges, the food was incredible - there was even a huge, chilled dessert room - the pool was gorgeous and it was in the most beautiful lush, green setting teeming with wildlife.

BrookeDavisQueen · 30/10/2022 06:30

I'm so sorry about your DD, they're are no words that will ever be enough for your loss.

You and your DH absolutely deserve to have some time for each other and to reconnect. Enjoy every moment. It was the Shangri-la in Borneo for me, stunning location and design and sublime customer service.

lalaland2023 · 30/10/2022 06:30

I'm so sorry for your loss. Love to you.

Well deserved!!!

I think mine has to be the pent house at claridges for my friends wedding.

Russell19 · 30/10/2022 06:32

Oyster box in Durban, South Africa. Just amazing.

OhMerde · 30/10/2022 06:34

24 hour pick n mix is a game changer!

St Regis in Bangkok was probably the best. I would have quite happily moved in and made it my permanent home!
