What's the nicest hotel you've stayed in?

We're currently at the most incredible hotel after years and years of staying at absolute shit holes. I think this is the best hotel we've ever stayed in. It's a special occasion and we've saved hard for this. We're at the brew dog hotel in Edinburgh and it's amazing. I feel so close to Dh after this weekend, it's been such a hard time for us lately!

It has a bed on a mezzanine level, 5L keg of beer in the room, beer fridge in the shower (lol) included a beer school event on friday, breakfast today that was served until 3pm in our room!!!, dinner tonight and breakfast tomorrow and Monday when we leave. The room has an oven, little kitchen etc. residents only area with 24 hr pick and mix, hotdogs on demand and 24 coffee.

It's insane. Yes it's very ott but 2 months ago our dd died in Scbu, it's been 3 months of utter hell and this was a treat.

What's your fave hotel stay ever?

So sorry for your loss ❤️

My H would love that hotel! Will take a look.

I have quite a few for different reasons. I really don't think I could choose!

Cameron House, Loch Lomond - stunning

Bellagio, Las Vegas - for wow factor

Moana Surfrider, Hawaii - for the history, it's beautiful as well

The Palace @ One & Only Royal Mirage, Dubai - Everything about this was sublime

The Grand Floridian, WDW - amazing

Secrets the Vine, Mexico - the whole experience, the suite was huge, the views were stunning

Villa Padierna, Marbella - beautifully looked after. So pretty

Mandarin Oriental, London - my favourite 'chain' of hotels worldwide, felt a real treat staying here

The Punta Tragara hotel on Capri island, Italy. We got engaged there and it was amazing. It has the most stunning views and the breakfast was incredible. Our bathroom was carved out of a rock.

@toor I'm so sorry about your little daughter x

A weekend away with your husband is a wonderful way to reconnect as a couple, hope that you've had an amazing weekend.

I've not stayed in many hotels, but DH and I had a mini honeymoon at The Lakeside Hotel in Newby Bridge on Lake Windermere 18 years ago. It's very traditional, but so welcoming and with a beautiful pool and spa. We returned 12 years later, with both children, for his 40th and it was just as magical.

The Doubletree Hilton in Leeds with the Sky Lounge bar near the top. We only stayed one night, once, but it was great. I loved it.

BellaTheDarkOverlord · 30/10/2022 11:50

The Megaro near Kings Cross Station definitely fanciest hotel. We only stayed a night to watch NFL when it came to London.

The Gainsborough Hotel and Spa in Bath. The most amazing nights sleep and had the spa to ourselves the following morning.

FlirtyMelons · 30/10/2022 12:24

Your photo looks fantastic, I love the style of the room!

Sometimes the best hotels are even the fanciest though, I have special memories of quite awful hotels but having the best time. There was a dreadful hotel right on Picadilly Circus, maybe called Regents something or other. It had group rooms and communal bathrooms and an Irish bar underneath it. We had some of the funniest trips there.

So sorry for your loss Flowers

Mandarin Oriental Shanghai. Both kids were under 18 so we stayed in a large room together (I'm a single parent) and it was just fabulous. Had views of the sunrise over the river which was absolutely spectacular.

Sorry for your loss and hope you enjoy your stay!

gogohmm · 30/10/2022 12:40

So sorry op, but pleased you have had a lovely weekend, great tip, I'm going to Edinburgh next summer. There's lots of people here who can support you through the weeks months and years.

ThePug · 30/10/2022 12:53

One that is really memorable was the Ice House Hotel in Ballina, Ireland - was over there for work and this was the closest hotel so I booked it. It was beautiful, had an amazing spa and the food was amazing. Bit different to the premier inns I normally stay at 🤣

The Balmoral in Edinburgh
Gleneagles
Gritti Palace Venice. All absolutely fabulous! We’re back to Gleneagles next week for a few days and I can’t wait!

Gleneagles for me too. I'm jealous you're going so soon. We're hoping to do a week next year and can't wait.

I also had a lovely weekend staying at the Mandarin Oriental in London. We got a really good deal that included loads of extras. The bathroom was amazing.

So sorry for your loss OP.

The most luxurious has been Burj al arab, not a fan of Dubai though.
Chedi in muscat was fabulous.
Le Sirenuese in Positano

I like the chedi- the sushi is amazing

neighboursmustliveon · 30/10/2022 13:42

Aphrodite lodge in Windermere. We have been twice and it was amazing. The first time we stopped in a room themed for our honeymoon location.

Huge four poster beds, small living area, jacuzzi baths with tv and surround sound, wet room showers and private outside hot tub and table and chairs.

The breakfast continental buffet had Prosecco just open to help yourself to.

We haven't been for 6.5 years and want to go back but it is pricy.

PumpkinSpiceLatay · 30/10/2022 13:48

So sorry for your loss.

Chewton Glen was absolutely amazing! Way out of my comfort zone and pure luxury.

The Bellagio (fountain view room) in Las Vegas
Canaves Oia in Santorini
Eldorado Casitas Royale in Mexico
The Witchery in Edinburgh

Beebumble2 · 30/10/2022 16:10

Sorry for your loss 💐. Pleased your having a relaxing enjoyable time.

My favourite hotel is Le Manoir aux quat’saisons. The rooms are pure luxury, with every detail carefully curated. The staff are extremely well trained to anticipate guests every need. The food and wine are superb.

CMOTDibbler · 30/10/2022 16:26

I've been lucky enough to stay in some lovely hotels for work, but the one I think about most fondly is one in Hobart, Tasmania which was on a pier and my room had a mezzazine level for the bed and full height windows right onto the water. It was just incredible - the room had some lovely touches as well, but it was being able to sit and drink my coffee and watch the boats that did it for me.
Equally the Holiday Inn Rocks in Sydney was pretty unmemorable in terms of rooms, but the rooftop pool which gave you an amazing view of the harbour bridge, the Opera house, but also docking cruise ships close up was vv memorable.

We had a fountain view room at The Bellagio also, when I was lying in bed I could see a giant Donny Osmonds face opposite 😂

Kiwimommyinlondon · 30/10/2022 16:44

Love The Merrion in Dublin, Raffles in Singapore, Datai in Langkawi, Tongsai Bay in Koh Samui, Millbrook in Queenstown and a very cool hotel in Melbourne that I cannot recall now!

SystemOfAFrowns · 30/10/2022 16:45

It’s a tie between the Legendale in Beijing and the Shan Fri la in London (the shard)

ThinkAboutItTomorrow · 30/10/2022 16:50

Either:

The New York Palace
The Clarence in Dublin
Soho house in Somerset

Very different places but all amazing.

toor · 30/10/2022 16:55

Ahh thank you! We've decided to go away a couple of times a year to really nice hotels 🥰 our hotel is honestly amazing! These are all ones to check out thank you!!

@Frenchfancy
It was the hotel caesius thermae & spa resort in bardolino. The hotel was beautiful , great room and lovely food. The spa is good too but it is a nudist spa (normal in Italy) And the location was fantastic, very peaceful, it was a 15 min walk along the lake to the centre of bardolino where all the restaurants/bars/shops are. Such a lovely walk and the lake is amazing.

I've been there. I loved it.

portocristo · 30/10/2022 17:30

The headland Hotel and cottages in Newquay Cornwall amazing location and views

heronsinflight · 30/10/2022 17:35

I went to Portugal on business earlier this year and was put up in an absolutely incredible hotel. It's not near the sea, or in a tourist area as far as I can tell, or even in a town, but what a place!

Very nice hotel
