Just thought you should know that they finally have someone in custody for the murder of the two little girls in Dephi, Indiana.

The girl that recorded must have been afraid or knew something was ‘off’ hence filming?

Yeah I believe they have never disclosed how they died (although recent report revealed there was lots of blood found), along with a lot of other details that have never been shared.

I so so hope they crack this case and justice can be served.

Yes. How brave of her. She knew they may not get out alive and she gathered evidence. I’m not sure I could do that even now if I thought I was in danger.

The girls may have been aware that he was following them some time before, maybe.

I think the evidence they have against this man must be super compelling. They searched his house, dug in his garden and then they charge him.

I wonder if they will demolish the bridge after the trial? They might need to keep it for the time being to perhaps walk the jury over for context. Dunno.

You mean virtually? I don't think for one moment they could literally walk them over. I'm sure there's been discussion about restoring it in the past, can't remember. I've followed it for so long and I honestly thought it was cold and BG was long gone. Am very shocked he was local all that time.

ThatGirlInACountrySong · 04/11/2022 22:22

The bridge is a listed building. Well, the U.S equivalent of 'listed' anyway

SpookySally · 04/11/2022 22:48

There’s talk on reddit about some of the evidence being animal fur. Apparently the warrant to search the home of the man whose land the girls were found on stated to look for animal hair. Allegedly the suspect’s wife wrote on Facebook a while ago about their cat dying and a neighbour claims they dug up a very small patch of his garden. Seems a bit far fetched that a bit of cat fur would be the evidence required to implicate someone for murder though!

MadeForThis · 04/11/2022 23:32

Hopefully the evidence is strong enough to keep him inside for the rest of his life.

JudyGemstone · 04/11/2022 23:42

That is good news!
hope justice is done for the girls

Yajebbend · 05/11/2022 10:25

So glad they finally got someone

Carroll County Judge Benjamin Diener has petitioned the Indiana Supreme Court to be recused from the case, and the process of appointing Judge Frank Gull to replace him is under way. Judges don't have to explain why they wish to be recused.

I would imagine it’s to prevent appeal on grounds of an unfair trial.

Must be to do with kegan kline who is already in custody

Bet it was the 2 of them

His wife didn't know? And who lied to give him an alibi?

Keegan Kline was asked during a lie detector test if he knew who killed Abby and Libby and he said ‘no’ which was detected as being a lie.

ThatGirlInACountrySong · 05/11/2022 21:05

Hmm interesting. Klines dad is definitely involved in my opinion. He knew Allen too

hattie43 · 05/11/2022 21:09

I've just listened to the podcast , thanks for the update

Which podcast? ‘Down the hill?’

hattie43 · 05/11/2022 22:00

@Xaviera

Yes

Can I just ask a question about the meaning of a staged crime scene. From what I have read, it means that the killer has tried to confuse investigators about what actually happened to the victims? If this is the case then I’m sure that’s why so little has been released about this case.

Damnautocorrect · 06/11/2022 15:44

I hadn’t heard of this case until now.
how terrible. Those poor girls.

for the sake of the “no struggle”. I’m a freezer. When bad things happen, I freeze, don’t fight, don’t run. Just freeze. It’s very very very common as a safety mechanism

Anon778833 · 06/11/2022 15:52

Most people have defensive wounds if they’ve been attacked, especially with a weapon - it’s a natural response.

SparklySparky · 29/11/2022 22:52

Anyone read the probable cause affidavit they have just released? They literally had this guy in their hands a couple of days after they found the girls, and it’s taken them five and a half years to arrest him? Maybe I’m reading it wrong but that is horrific if true. What an epic fuck up 😮

Anon778833 · 29/11/2022 22:56

I agree, on the face of it, why has it taken all this time for them to catch this guy when he's been there the entire time just footsteps away?

I suppose it may have been difficult to get the gun evidence. It seems like they have kept this information back so the perp didn't get rid of the gun.

But yeah it's very concerning. Someone like this is highly likely to strike again.

SparklySparky · 29/11/2022 23:01

Really shocking. He’s the only adult male seen in the vicinity at the time, by several eyewitnesses and he’s on video and audio with the girls. They must have recovered the bullet sometime in the day or two following the murders. The analysis would probably have taken a while, maybe weeks or a few months but I just can’t understand why they wouldn’t have been checking his firearms first. And the wife must have known it was him. I’m baffled.

HRTQueen · 30/11/2022 00:26

At last

since listening to Down The Hill, which is really good I have often looked up the case.

i could never get my head around how no one recognised him and turns out he was from Delphi, or why it’s taken so long as from listening to the podcast the police appeared to be very focused on the case but something has gone wrong with the investigation

those poor girls and their poor families knowing that he was so close all along

MadeForThis · 30/11/2022 12:28

I'm hoping there is more evidence that has been kept back.

Could other people have been involved?

It seems beyond bizarre that a local man could be interviewed in the days after the attack. Admit being on the path and the bridges, match the description of Bridge man and yet he isn't questioned again. No search of his house, nothing.

What did his wife think of his story?

This guy has been charged with Felony Murder which could mean that he was involved in the killing but didn't actually do it himself. I'm praying there is more to the story.

If the police have just failed to investigate him it will be devastating for the family.

Anon778833 · 30/11/2022 12:45

People like this (cold, calculated psychopath) don't usually act with other people unless they're married to them. The reason why is because it increases the likelihood that they will get turned in.

MadeForThis · 01/12/2022 13:41

Fox News are apparently reporting that the interview was incorrectly filed in 2017 by a civilian clerk.

So they had him all along. But didn't check their own records.
