Delphi murders - suspect finally in custody

Just thought you should know that they finally have someone in custody for the murder of the two little girls in Dephi, Indiana.

It's always been said there was no sign of a struggle from either girl.

I read somewhere (I know very little about the case and haven’t seen the photos) that the photo was out of season and was therefore old and probably taken before the murders. I can’t say anything else though, your comment just reminded me of that.

When people say ‘signs of a struggle’ what do you all mean? Like suspects dna under their fingernails, that sort of thing?

Wasn't the photo part of a montage for her wedding? It's a popular and well known local place, I'm not reading anything into it.

I’ve always wondered about how he managed to so easily have the girls under control and murder them with no struggle. He worked in a pharmacy, maybe he drugged them. Such an awful case.

The bridge had geocaches there and is on a popular trail. Many locals have their photos there. I think the photo was part of her graduation photo album, well before the murders. It was in Kathy's Facebook before she deactivated it

I have often wondered how he was able to move them both to and from the scene? It seems to me that someone else may have been involved.

I’ve seen people speculate that there are more people involved in this crime than just one and that it might have been a snuff film or some bigger organised crime situation.

I suspect they are trying to get the wife to tell them what she knows. The video showing what is allegedly Allen walking along the bridge and stills from the video were shown on TV and online after the murders. His wife must have recognised the clothing.

The posters were all over Delphi. They discussed the murders in the bar ( bar owner gave an interview)

Yeah I think there was another person, or perhaps persons involved in the murders. Probably waiting at the bottom of the bridge. I get the feeling this guy is a big jigsaw in the whole puzzle that is to be unsolved.

Allen has been transferred from the Carroll County jail to an Indiana State prison, presumably due to threats to his personal safety and in the interests of maintaining order in the county jail.

It's very likely that his trial will take place away from the county so that the outcome won't be prejudiced or appealable.

The video clip from Libby’s phone is also much longer than has been released to the public. Maybe it’s because the police have known from the beginning that a number of people were involved in this?

Carroll County Judge Benjamin Diener has petitioned the Indiana Supreme Court to be recused from the case, and the process of appointing Judge Frank Gull to replace him is under way. Judges don't have to explain why they wish to be recused.

It reminds me of Ian Huntley turning up at press conferences and speaking to news reporters about Holly and Jessica. Sometimes these people are very close by. Absolutely awful.

I can’t imagine how the poor parents put one foot in front of the other every day after something like this.

I've listened to the Down the Hill podcasts and it haunted me. Those poor girls. I really hope they've got the right person.

It'll be interesting to see where they found Libby's phone. Seems strange the culprit did not take the effort to dispose of it. Was it perhaps dropped in undergrowth going down the hill before they reached the end location.

The bridge looks scary anyway- really high with no sides and a steep drop and looks like it’s tricky to walk along with all the raised tracks? I’m surprised it’s such a popular place to hike over.

Poor girls. Am I right I’m thinking the police never released the cause of deaths for either girl, as they wanted to retain some info so the killer is likely going to trip over this information when questioned?

They were children children are used to doing what adults tell them to do so they match it easier to manipulate.

it’s possibly had a gun or other weapon and when he said get down the hill they went down the hill.

an adult mind might think that they could get away but a child In fear might comply.

As adults we would fear the worst that could happen such as rape and murder but they may not have.

Well it’s officially illegal to hike over it because it’s dangerous but I think most people ignore this.

The girl that recorded must have been afraid or knew something was ‘off’ hence filming?

Yeah I believe they have never disclosed how they died (although recent report revealed there was lots of blood found), along with a lot of other details that have never been shared.

I so so hope they crack this case and justice can be served.

I wonder if they will demolish the bridge after the trial? They might need to keep it for the time being to perhaps walk the jury over for context. Dunno.
