My favourite is May...I love it, weather is warming up but not too hot, longer evenings, it's full of promise.

Least favourite is December, dark evenings, too much to do and expensive..I'm not a huge fan of Christmas, only bother for the children.

How about you?

I don't like January or February much, if I had to pick a favourite it would probably be April because the weather is picking up, its my birthday month, and we have the easter holidays and lots of chocolate!

rafanadalsarms · 19/10/2022 21:45

I love May the flowers are out and the garden is looking promising. And the days are getting longer.
I hate August though, the nights are drawing in and you can feel Winter around the corner (I hate the winter)

Comedycook · 19/10/2022 21:46

I'd happily skip Christmas in exchange for nice weather and light nights all year round

Me too!

The exact months you picked OP, but the opposite way round!

GuiltyPleasure · 19/10/2022 21:49

Favourite - July/August - love the long summer nights
Least favourite - September/October - spider season 🥺

Sloth66 · 19/10/2022 21:50

My favourite is October, I like the cooler weather of autumn, Halloween and darker nights.
least favourite is July, the endless heat, especially this year, makes me feel ill and I can’t sleep.

RuthW · 19/10/2022 21:50

Favourite is Sept, cooler days, new beginnings, christmas coming and christmas in the shops and flu season at work.

Least fav is March. End of year at work.

paintitallover · 19/10/2022 21:53

February. January is busy and I'm glad to get the house back. February is cold snd nowhere near the end of the winter. I like April and especially may.,

StarDolphins · 19/10/2022 21:54

I like December - I don’t like how commercial it all is but if I gnore that, I just absolutely adore how excited my DD is for Christmas & the elf comes doing mischievous things & I just love panto, pizza express on Christmas, hot choc, the choir that comes to our estate. I love it.

I don’t like any month in Summer purely for the fact I live on an estate full of green fingered keen gardeners & I barely have time to clean the inside so looking out of my window seeing dandelions, weeds & grass growing every week stresses me out. I just don’t have time to do it.

MamaRaisingBoys · 19/10/2022 21:55

Favourite is January! As much as I adore Christmas, everything is full on in the run up from Sept and January is a nice reset to normality. It feels full of promise and hope. By Feb I’m ready for spring though.

least favourite is July. It’s my birthday month and it was always a letdown as a kid. I can’t seem
to shake that and enjoy celebrating as an adult. And it’s too hot.

Runnerduck34 · 19/10/2022 21:57

Ooh to hard to pick just one!
I love April, spring flowers, days get longer, my birthday, daughters birthday and usually Easter.
I love Christmas, all the decorations, feeling cosy so December is pretty good too.

Worst month is probably January for being skint and/ or February which normally has the worst weather.

ScarlettOHaraHamiltonKennedyButler · 19/10/2022 21:58

My favourite is December because of Christmas season.

My least favourite is August. Back to school (Scotland), bastarding wasps everywhere and by August I am getting tired of summer and am more than ready for autumn.

Hellhath · 19/10/2022 22:02

I hate November. It's my birthday month and nobody has ever bothered with it, arranged anything for me, spoilt me or made any effort whatsoever.
My DF was diagnosed with terminal cancer on the 1st November, he died 8 weeks later. I always remember that day.
Two other grandmas that I shared grandkids with died in November. Both massive losses to the family.
It's grey, rainy, miserable. No autumn colours, no Christmas colours. Too many sad memories.

MayISuggestSomeThickCutSteakChipsToGoWithThat · 19/10/2022 22:04

January. That month seems to last longer than the entire year does

BamBamBilla · 19/10/2022 22:10

Late Sept/ early Oct is the best. Kids are back at school, leaves are turning, mushrooms are growing, everything is harvesting, nesting the home ready to hibernate for winter.

March is the worst. Coldest time of the year, the "promise of spring" is just taking too long. Its a busy time at work for end of financial year. Snow, storms or flooding still happening. Trying to start growing stuff for the garden but it's just not worth it because they end up leggy because they can't go out yet.

Norugratsatall · 19/10/2022 22:10

Favourite is April, brings the promise of spring and the garden looks a picture with all the bulbs.
Least favourite- probably July as it's just too hot, noisy and too many insects!

Retrievemysanity · 19/10/2022 22:11

Cannot stand February. I know there’s a lot of hate for January but I’m always quite buzzing after Christmas and that lasts most of January but February, urgh, no redeeming features.

May is my favourite as it’s my birthday month, lovely spring colours and weather starts to get nicer.

mackthepony · 19/10/2022 22:11

Love October - leaves, cooler weather etc. Fall food

Hate January, for all the obvious reasons

RedRec · 19/10/2022 22:13

Favourite is October. It is my birthday month and I love autumn.
Least favourite is February. Long past Christmas and summer still miles off.

twinkletoesimnot · 19/10/2022 22:17

Love August.
My birthday, summer holidays, sunshine and long days.

Hate January

Rainbowcat99 · 19/10/2022 22:18

My favourites are July and August, warm, light evenings and school holidays.
Least favourite is January, cold, dark and boring!

NooNakedJacuzziness · 19/10/2022 22:25

Hate December. Quite like January because December is over and no Christmas for aaages. Most favourite probably April, spring and summer on the way, feels hopeful.

OceanbreezeSun · 19/10/2022 22:26

I don’t hate any month really.

Even January, which is probably the least popular, has its good points - I like the promise of the new year, out with the old, in with the new. It’s a good time to have a clear out or set goals etc.

I love May time the most I think - the weather warms up without being too hot and wild flowers are everywhere. I love the fresh greenery and it just feels like a positive month.
July/August weather nice but everywhere feels busy and crowded.
September feels like the biggest step change out of all the seasons, I like the feeling of change in the air and actually quite like the dark nights drawing in.
I like October, the crispy leaves on the ground, Halloween, that bonfire/woody smell that’s in the air. December is lovely for Christmas. I love all the decorations and lights up everywhere.

Rockbird · 19/10/2022 22:27

October is the best. Smoky, slightly chilly and all the excitement, dark evenings and the winter ahead of us. Worst is May because the summer and brightness and hot weather is all to come and seems to stretch out endlessly. I am so depressed throughout the spring and summer.

MrsSkylerWhite · 19/10/2022 22:28

I like them all, for various reasons. Seasonably, probably February though both of our children were born in that month so it’s also a highlight 😃
