It’s not going to happen but it would be amazing if a load of back benchers just quit out of principle. No trying to foist out the latest trained chimp in number ten, just simply quit because the Conservative party is broken beyond repair.

L1ttledrummergirl · 19/10/2022 20:26

We've been sayingvthat for a while though, how low does their morality bar need to be though before they take some sort of action.

I could weep tonight for our democracy.

Orangesandlemons77 · 19/10/2022 20:15

I read that Labour is all ready to shame MPs voting for it with some adverts(?)

Ah, so Truss, Dorries, Wallace et al make sure backbenchers are forced through the No lobby, whilst themselves abstaining so that they can wash their hands of the manifesto betrayal.

Lonelycrab · 19/10/2022 20:29

This is now way beyond ridiculous, physically dragging their own MPs in to vote. It’s actually sickening. Can’t believe they’re actually doing this and Truss and co need to step away before this gets any worse. Go, you stupid woman.

And Johnson can fuck off too. Grrr 😡

DuncinToffee · 19/10/2022 20:30

Apparently Truss missed the vote because she was busy with the Chief Whip resignation, you couldn't make it up.

Shambles

itsgettingweird · 19/10/2022 20:33

Just came to link that interview.

He didn't just look and sound furious but also absolutely gutted and tearful.

The party is done for.

What confuses me most though is that Truss came in all right wing. We said she was a puppet for ERG.

And now she's sacking those MPs and bringing in centrists.

Because she centric and pretended for votes?

Because she thinks it's best for the country?

Because she thinks it's best for her job?

I don't even believe what I'm seeing and hearing nowadays. That's how I know this has to end.

Trust has been eroded totally and I didn't think anyone after Johnson could do it even more.

Cornettoninja · 19/10/2022 20:33

@Lonelycrab Grin

you did make me laugh, just remembering to tell BJ to fuck off too

Cornettoninja · 19/10/2022 20:36

I think it’s because she’s floundering @itsgettingweird. She’s lost any illusion of control and failed (extraordinarily) to get it back.

Tbh the only way she could gain any credibility now is to reveal herself as a double agent for Labour.

He is probably drinking cocktails right now and laughing like a drain. Wanker.

Interesting.

I think it's because she is DESPERATE to hang on to the PM post, it's her dream

Notonthestairs · 19/10/2022 20:42

They can't tackle the problems within the Conservative party if they don't acknowledge them. It's just left the talentless & the power hungry free to roam.

I don't think Truss is bringing centrists in to the fold. Hunt is. That's the price of her remaining in post.

I've said it before but Johnson ushered this in. May tried & failed to fight them off but Johnson used them as a power base and then could only stay on with their help. His Cabinet appointments were a catalogue of worst of the party.

Steve Baker "what a cunt" twitter.com/TheCentreLefty/status/1582791769892491268?s=20&t=qk5BJkx8WKXP5tUoGGK3fA

Notonthestairs · 19/10/2022 20:55

Apparently the Whips letters of resignation haven't actually been delivered. So nobody knows whether they have resigned or not.
Shambles.

TomPinch · 19/10/2022 20:58

Alexander Stafford saying it was no big deal.

Just like the sort of thing I used to say at school after the bullies had given me a going over.

Notonthestairs · 19/10/2022 20:59

That was a massive cock up by Guru-Murthy. I'm glad he's apologised.

(I've said far worse after getting off the phone)

Notonthestairs · 19/10/2022 21:01

Yes it's difficult not to come to the conclusion that Stafford couldnt speak freely. The sheer number of reports indicate that something was very wrong this evening.

Notonthestairs · 19/10/2022 21:05

New slogan - #fighting&quitting ?

Was this part of an actual broadcast?

From his tone, it sounds like he thought wasn’t live, ie he thought the feed had cut and he was thinking out loud, off camera. It sounds like an accidental editing error.

Idk, I didn’t see the context it was broadcast in.

It was off camera. I actually think he has a point 😂 Steve Baker is a cunt….as are many of the others.

Notonthestairs · 19/10/2022 21:12

I think KGM had thought the transmission had finished. Not intended as part of the interview.

Notonthestairs · 19/10/2022 21:13

I just think it's a distraction from much more serious issues.

I agree. Professional or not he isn’t the one tanking our economy or threatening British democracy.

Lonelycrab · 19/10/2022 21:14

No real need for an apology then imo.

It’s only the same sentiment most of the country has now, about this absolute shambles, and the people that are behind it.

itsgettingweird · 19/10/2022 21:16

They're all cunts.

No apology coming.

I don't care.
