Really fancy one of these, and am thinking of going approved used (looking at 2020 versions onwards)

However, I know they have a reputation for being unreliable, and needing a lot of maintenance/repairs.

If you have one, have you found this to be true?

They are a useful tw*t indicator, I find.

@Phrenologistsfinger what do you mean?

ButteryNuts · 10/10/2022 09:03

We had so many issues with ours. Even things like one of the back screens not working (never got fixed), the lights not working when you open the door, even the supports for the driver seat just collapsed! The main driver wasn't light, but nothing ridiculous (14st or so). Plus many, many breakdowns.

I've had an X3 for the last 5 years and absolutely love it. Would take a lot to make me change from that now, apart from an X5 which I also love!

I'm glad to hear this. We're planning to swap our 5 series touring and M4 for either an X3 M40i or an X5 M50i next

DS's fiancée has had one for a couple of years It's pretty and she loves it. I have a similarly high spec XC40 both are automatic and 70 reg. DS prefers the drive quality of my Volvo and I think for a similar price it's the better car and not as in your face.
