Gas energy rebate

Has anyone with British Gas received their energy rebate yet?

My email said Id get £67 into my account a few days after I paid. The money for the DD came out on the 3rd but no sign of the £67 coming in!

Have others had theirs?!

We’re with octopus. They reduced the direct debit by £67, although we’ve increased it back to what it was.

Still waiting .. been watching every day , letter I got said it would go in a few days after direct debit came out

Yup that's why I keep checking. It's been "a few days!" If noones had it yet is their system not working?!

I thought mine normally came out on the 1st but it came out on the 3rd so maybe it's a few days behind.

When you say in your account you mean your bank account? Not British gas account (I haven't got credit from them in either!)

My utility company (Good Energy) just reduced the October direct debit by £66. I promptly asked them to reinstate it my original amount (£232 a month) as prices have just gone up (for the 4th time this year - Good Energy aren't subject to the price cap). I'm £800 in credit now which is fine.

Is your account in debit I'm edf but my last meter read a few weeks ago put me in debit meaning they paid the £66 off my owed instead of putting it in my bank as a refund could this have happened to you?

No British Gas said they would pay into our bank accounts. So take xyz direct debit (all up to date in my case) and pay £67 direct back into the bank account...

We are with Scottish power and I have just looked on the app and it's the Scottish power account that has been credited not straight into the bank account which they said would happen. Even though I have it in an email about it going into the bank account.

My fixed tarrif ended on 30th September and it's taken them until today to email me with any information on my new tarrif - and how the payments are working. I can't imagine they'll be any quicker with the rebate.

Its applied to electricity accounts as not everyone has gas

I'm with Scottish power but don't have the app. Whereabouts does it tell you that you have received the rebate? Does it show under bills and payments?

My understanding was that the energy account would be credited.
Not the bank account used for payments to the energy company.
We're with Octopus and they reduced our direct debit by £67. I changed it back as I'd rather build up credit for now and the direct debit was set at an amount we're comfortable with, for now.

Some energy companies are keeping the direct debit the same and giving the rebate as a refund into their bank account instead

Branster I think each company is doing it differently.

British gas is (supposed to be) paying back into bank accounts "a few days" after the direct debit comes out.

We're with Bulb. We has a statement on 1 October showing our credit and payment that day. Normally get one a few days later.

Mine has been paid into my energy account and removed on the same day…but not, as far as I can see, into my bank account yet. Even if it’s on it’s way i’d like to know how much the fuckers are making in interest out of the taxpayer!
